I can relate. Once at a job I was asked to speak to a newer, teen girl m, employee. It was a wealthy area and while she wasn't snobby, she was clearly a spoiled princess.
She worked part time and 5 minutes into work she would start whining about being tired and her legs hurting. She often shirked work, or did poorly. Many other employees complained about her work, her attitude, etc
When I spoke to her about these problems she looked as if she was going to cry. She came in the next day and quit.
We had people in their 50s working two jobs on their feet that rarely complained at all and did good work and this chick was a lazy complainer. Sometimes it was a weird feeling to see such contrasting people.

why do many of my friends think "I'm trying to be cool" by ignoring all mainstream music and just listening to 90's and back? Songs were much better

Tell them you're not trying to be cool. It just comes naturally.

Alternatively, tell them you're not trying to be cool. You just prefer music that is cool.

I don't know about '90's music being cool, but I like the "and back" part. ;)

I used to be that way, but lately Ive just come to realize that every era had its gems. Like even in the 80s, yeah most of it was electro-pop and not all that interesting. But even then there were some really great bands, like The Cure and such.

And the 90s can be a bit overrated imo. Not that I dont like 90s music, I think its great. But at the same time every freaking band was just a guy playing electric guitar with constant distortion singing about how hard their life was or whatever. While that can be cool and all, it also can get tiring.

There are some bands from the 2000s up to now that I think are great, too.

I know my post will be lost in this thread.

But two great things happened today....

1) I have lost 14 pounds!

2) I'm officially an aunt <3 My brother and his wife had their baby today!!!!! <3

I get to meet her in September! (They live in California, while I live in NY!)

I lost 14 pounds in rapid order once. It took food poisoning to make it happen over a weekend.

We're talking over forty miles to the nearest hospital.

I'm not sure what I'm doing with this life anymore, but i have to say, God is good.

I don't think I mentioned it on here, but I got a promotion at work. I get my own little office - the first office I've had in my life! I may or may not have gone a little overboard with buying things for decoration (both office-y things and regular decoration things) but 1) I want to have the cutest darn space in the building and 2) If I'm there for 40 hours a week, I want it to feel at least a little homey. I have a color theme and everything... I should probably feel embarrassed, but nah.

Some of my coworkers' work spaces are so blank. I don't know how they stand it, all the creative bones in my body would die, but I guess not everyone is as crazy as me. :rolleyes:
