Awww haha
You can't get mad at something like that though
Yeah, I was exempt from punishment because I was trying to do something good even though it was a disaster LOL.

Sounds like you were making a joyful noise for the Lord.
I'm sure it awoke a few people. I think it upset me also. Hard to remember the details because it was so long ago hehee :) More than fifty years ago.

If you come to do my dishes, you can be my dish washer LOLOLOL>

My daughter is always telling me to get a countertop dishwasher, but I have very limited space, so I pass on the suggestion. I don't know how many dishes could fit in something like that either. It seems like such a bother, why can't I just clean them as I go along? That seems too much to ask also :D
Lol I've heard that once to many times.
I would come do your dishes if I could haha

Oh, well that is terrible, you should not be punished for something you cannot help. I was probably crying, too, being upset that it happened and thinking I would get in trouble for breaking the bowls. I am sure they wondered what the heck was I even doing? It was out of the ordinary, and I was quite young, and then tripped on my pajama pant leg. What can you do? You should not punish good intentions. I don't think I tried it again, though. Heh.

And when we did the laundry, we had to be coached about not letting our hand get caught in the wringer, you know waaaaaaayyyy long after the fact I do realize I could have been killed doing the laundry LOL. We had one of those wringer washers and we put each load through a wash and then there were two rinse tubs, the wringer would swing around, but for sure if your hand got caught in it it might pull your whole arm in and then gobble the rest of you up! Horrors. We also always hung our clothes to dry outside when the weather was nice, and most stuff got ironed. There was always ironing to do. Baskets and baskets of it. We did laundry at least three times a week and the big day was Saturday, way more loads then, laundry for a household of a dozen people on a regular basis, so much fun! (Not :D) So yeah, eight years old, I was more than happy to go work with my dad and brothers at the farmer's markets selling produce and honey and maple syrup :) My dad was quite the entrepreneur, having eleven children to feed :D

I had a really weird experience when I was about 13 years old. I was fighting with my Brother, he was in the garage and I was in the hallway between the house and the garage. I was trying to get him to unlock the garage door so I could get my bike out but he wouldn't. So I was knocking on the glass window of the door, I knocked so hard at one point that I smashed the glass with my fist. I didn't mean to do it. My Father came out and I just looked at him in sheer terror and he grabbed my hand and was amazed that I didn't cut it at all. Then he swore and went in the house. My Brother unlocked the door and I took off for a while on my bike in case he changed his mind and wanted to yell at me, lol.

I would've been told
"You now do not have the right to do anything out of what we tell you. You listen to us, not yourself. We are in charge of you. Now you are paying for more dishes."
Don't you love my family? XD

It was. I loved it, all of it, being out in the world, meeting so many people, selling the produce, not having to do housework on Saturday haha, that was good too, and the one stockyard we went to was a real farmer's market, they sold cows and pigs and horses at auction in the barn, and you would see people walking around with their duck for dinner, being carried around upside down, poor duck, it was still alive! The barn would also have a flea market and a restaurant in it, but I loved catching a bit of the auction, man those guys just about yodeled the way they sold the livestock. Fall was even more fun because it was harvest time and my dad would make barrels and barrels of apple cider that we would sell mostly by the bottle. It would ferment after a few days :D

Go to one minute to hear the auctioneers :p

When you see a thread created by someone you don't know and it's a wall of text, do you first look for replies from people you know and see if they're in agreement before you bother reading OP? Kind of like, if your friend 'liked' this and agrees to this post, must be worth the read, something like that? No? Only I do that? Okay.

Haha yeah, or not just friends but people I have a high respect for too. Like if they're in that thread and are driving a point, must be worth the push.

Also helps avoid useless threads

Haha, well, if a post is really long and I don't feel like reading it I just don't and I read the comments to see what the topic is about instead but that's about it haha

That's the way it was, though :D However, it was no fun in the winter. We would still go even in the worst weather, and set our stall up in a snow bank LOL, and stand around in the freezing cold. There was no heat in the truck, it was just an old bread truck my dad had bought to transport the produce. We would unload the truck after we set up the stands for the produce, and then wait for customers to come if they dared to go out in such inclement weather. The truck front itself only had seats for two people, the driver and a passenger, so if it was me and my twin brother going with my dad, I would sit in the middle on top of the covered engine. Seat belts? Had they been been invented yet? LOL

Haha :) that's cool.
The only parental work place I ever helped out at was my second step mom's. And she was an accountant. I just helped file papers and clean up the office haha...

Did you like it? I worked with my dad for ten years. I volunteered for the job not even knowing what they did, just to get away from housework LOL. But I did like it. It was sometimes hard, too, I had to carry fifty pound burlap sacks of potatoes to little old ladies' cars LOL. Some bags of potatoes were 75 pounds. They were dirt cheap way back then. Now a pound costs what fifty pounds did! The mean boys at school called me potato :p

We would sell an individual apple for five cents. We always had apples and potatoes, and honey and maple syrup. In the summer my dad would drive from the eastern side of Toronto all the way to the Niagara peninsula to pick up peaches, which we would then sell at the stock yard and other farmer's markets. Sometimes I would go with, just for the ride. The peach fuzz would get everywhere and itch, especially in the crook of your arm. We even sold bananas and oranges, but not so much, cuz they would spoil faster. We got to know some of the farmers at the markets quite well, also. They were pretty nice people. Some of them called me Melba. That was a type of apple :D

Yeah, I mostly liked it. She had an employee who did NOT stop smiling EVER lol
I mean I guess that's good, but seriously one time he was trying to out together a chair and was doing it wrong and was still smiling.
He was a good guy tho lol.
I liked hanging around him cuz he tended to be a lot more positive then my step mother haha.
They had a really cool fish tank xD

Melba....someone in a book had that name I think
