I had to holler at a kid this evening that was intentionally antagonizing my Dad's dog while out in it's kennel. As bad as I should feel for having to put on my DAD VOICE and tell the little jerk to get away from the dog and to go home, I don't. I don't feel the least bit bad. All I feel is an overwhelming sense of relief that I never had children. I really, really dislike children.
Set the dog free. He'll solve the problem by himself.

I'm STILL waiting for Gracie's reply, and I think we started PM'ing in 2013. :(:(:(
LOL! Now that's some patience Kim ;)

---

I tend to not answer a PM when I don't have anything else to say, or if what I'd say is just for the sake of saying something. I think the others do the same. Sometimes I blabber on PM but don't expect a response.

I am picking up a couple BEWARE OF DOG signs to hang on the fence of the kennel. If a kid wants to get bit after having those signs up, then that is their problem, but they'll have a much harder time suing me for the outcome.

What kind of idiot kid walks up to a Tibetan Mastiff they don't know and antagonizes it? Methinks that little snowflake ate too much glue in school.

Ok feels like I've entered the twilight zone. I went to bed after catching up on CC and when I got up in the morning there were no new posts in streams. What's this forum coming to?

On a totally unrelated note, I was going to post this yesterday, but just wanted to brag on my parents who celebrated 37 years together yesterday. If I seem super picky about men, it's because my parents did it so right and if I'm going to marry I'd like to follow in their footsteps. My backup plan on that (for however long I don't have a guy) is books, CC forums, more books, computer games, more books, bike rides, solitary rambles through the not quite wilderness (I like it when there's a trail to follow and benches along the way to sit on) and maybe a book or two.

So I was just watching a video by a guitarists who plays an 8 string guitar. His video was in response to criticism to 8 string players, since the tone of an 8 string guitar is so low, that you may as well play bass guitar. He switched the roles of the guitar and bass in a recording of his to show the results of playing the bass guitar instead. Now, his point was that he felt its better to use the 8 string as the melody and just keep bass guitar in the role of rhythm, but the comments in the comment section really made me happy : p Lemme show you some of them-

To be fair.. Bass as lead-voice sounds freakin' awesome! :D

+Bung The Booce imagine a song without a guitar and a bass instead of it, especialy djent, it would sound amazing

Lead bass actually sounds pretty awesome

Is it just my own bias as a bassist and a bass lover, or playing the guitar part with a bass actually sound really good ? Good enough to be some serious business

The [freaking] bass as a guitar is [freaking] superior. GG EZ

The bass sounds great as the guitar, but I didn't feel like it works quite as well for the guitar playing bass parts.

Not gonna lie, I want to see a band do this type of stuff

Justin Brown4 days ago
check out Extinction Level Event. no guitars, all bass

Jesse McCormick6 days ago
This sounds really good. Maybe 8-string guitarists should just play bass.

Fancy FA2 days ago
Sounds better reversed. The strings on the bass actually have enough tension to produce a clear note.

well... i think, i don't need any guitars no more. bass is pretty enough for all parts of my music)))

i would like to see a stoner band with two bassists one having a guitar like sound and one having, well, a bass sound and a drummer.
(I told him to look up Pinback btw : p)

It sounds fantastic! It's much more intense and also much clearer!

It honestly sounds really good, [shoot] I'd say [drop] the 8 string just go for the bass. Sounded pretty good.

bass is better anyway
(best comment : p)

You should try this with two basses and no guitars :D
(this is 100% true, why even keep the guitar, you can still have the bass play rhythm and melody at the same time, many bands have done this before : p)

There are a few guitarists on there making a big fuss about how you cant do that with a bass guitar, how it doesnt "sound right" ect ect : p But for the most part people really liked it, and a few people even said just lose the guitar. This has given me faith in humanity, haha : p
(just wanted to share this, it made my day : p)

(I wanted to point out that I wasnt just trying to "bash" guitarists in my post : p Many of my favorite musicians are guitarists, I was just happy to see, as a bass guitarists, that these people really enjoyed hearing bass guitar as the lead instrument and melody of a song, and even agreed that you can have bass guitar without guitar : p Bass guitar is a very underrated and under appreciated instrument)

That was way cool, though. I like the western style they played together, haha I actually have a big soft spot for that sound : p (Ive somewhat recently gotten into western style stuff for whatever reason : p) And I liked the way they played too, alot of guitarists just strum chords all the time, I really enjoy melodic guitarists like that who focus on fingering and arpeggio and other twinkly pretty stuff like that : p Would like to see that used more often with guitar : p

A good example of bass guitar covering melody and rhythm without guitar-

I really like these guys : p The one on the left is my biggest influence and inspiration when it comes to music.

Gotta say, sometimes you need a flute in a soundtrack. No bass can replace a flute.

Can I get some helpful opinions? I am going to work on a project this weekend (assuming I can move after my workout last night...typing is a challenge). I have a dining table I bought used. It's black. I kept my old chairs from my old dining set as the table didn't have any chairs with it. Those chairs are cream colored. I plan to paint them and recover the cushions. My question is, do I paint them black or dark grey? If anyone cares to share an opinion I'd love to hear it. Thanks! :)

This comes as no surprise to me. This site has been slowly ebbing away for some time now. Some nights there won't be a single new post for over 30 minutes. In the past year the activity in this site has noticeably slowed. Not uncommon for the Singles section to go hours without a single post anymore.

I don't have both. I plan to buy the paint today. That might be an idea, though. The table has a....rustic feel to it. Maybe black and grey with a very slight shabby chic feel. Also, red is in my dining room...I considered either black or grey with a smidge of red but not both black and grey with red.

If you know someone with photoshop skills u can take a pic and have them change the color of the chairs so u can see exactly what it would look like in each color.
