You're responsible for your own happiness.
Save this phrase godsslife, this was one of my lifesavers :)

No offense Lijo, but that is one of my most hated phrases. It's like telling someone to just get over their depression.
It has two sides I think. I understand it in the way that if it's my responsibility, there's something I can do about it. There is hope and I can choose to feel better. If I pass on this responsibility to others, I have no control over what they do with my feelings. And I cannot change others. It's hopeless and miserable when my happiness depends on what 'others' do and say to me. This transition in my life (still ongoing) is one of the few that gives me reason to get up in the morning. :)

So, like, today's the last day of church rehearsals for Sunday. We all gathered up on stage for a group photo. I was looking around for Mr. Cute Mixer Church Guy (sadly, I don't get too see him much, cause I'm at backstage and he's at front of house). Surprisingly, his perfect smile greeted me when I turned to my left (there are over 200 of us on stage, I was so happy he, intentionally or not, found his place by my side). I may have ended up with the biggest grin when the photographer said Cheese.

Because we've got so many drugs to keep down blood pressure and cholesterol. Thats why we have pharmacies everywhere, even inside grocery stores.

I read in one of your posts that you were studying nursing. I really admire nurses. They are very special people. :)
They do, but I gave up that years ago. Too much stress. (ie one nurse, one healtcare worker for ten patients during weekends, only nurses are allowed to draw blood and hand out medicines, unless the healthcare workers have been given additional training.... and you have no time to actually sit down and talk to people :(

It is and it isnt .. But i have nothing to want in this world rather than love
For the record, this isn’t a dating site. CC Rules #2 and #3 read:

2. No conduct that is offensive or counterproductive to fellowship.
We like to welcome all to Christian Chat, but if anyone is not here for fellowship (or for wanting to know about Christianity), but simply for disrupting fellowship, offending people, *whatever, then that person is not welcome.

*The ”whatever” includes anything that interrupts the flow of fellowship, or obstructs friendly chat with a personal agenda.

3. No flooding.
Please don't *flood the whole chat screen with your messages.

*The ”flooding“ includes disregarding the topic of the thread and repeating a personal agenda over and over, such as finding a mate.

More importantly dear, the internet can be a very dangerous place. Unless you know someone in person, you can never tell who a member really is. There are cases where men pose as female, and vice versa, or they don’t reveal their true age. That happens quite often on the internet. There are members here who have been deceived by such scammers. So please be careful!

If you want to share your thoughts about a personal situation, either start your own thread about relationships or write a blog. This site gives you those options. Just be careful about giving out too much personal information.

I hope and pray you are not only blessed by awesome friendships here, but that you allow God to make you a friend to others here as well. Grace to you, dear!

I believe it's about the process of renewal of the mind. God initializes the work, and we respond and say yes too Him. My firm belief is that when people come to Christ, they all have emotional baggage. Some deeper than others. But when it comes to restoration of the soul, our minds have to respond and say Yes to His work. We need to work out of what God works in us. So just saying your responsible for your own happiness, is actually untrue, because we're not. Our fullness of joy and peace our dependent on the creator who chooses to reach out the the created.

Saying you are responsible for your own joy, to someone who is broken and hurting, is like rubbing salt into a cut and then walking away without treating it. If were responsible for our own joy, and for the change that happens in our life, then are we responsible for our own destiny and the choices we make? If all we do is follow a scriptural method to get around in life, and to renew our thinking then who's leading who? And who's God of who, and where does the relating to the creator come into it? Our christian experience becomes merely deistic philosophy.

We're on a road of transformation, but who transforms who?

The owner of the site (RoboOp) posted awhile back that he does not mind people looking for a relationship here and he prefers that we do not jump on people telling them its not a dating site because that turns off a lot of new members and causes them to leave before having a chance to get to know the site. I wish I could find that post...

@godsslife There's time for everything, even marriage. Don't be worried, we all get lonely from time to time. In the meantime just be you and may Jesus comfort you and build you up in love, praise the name of the Lord.
thank you brother. god bless

Just a thought, disjointed from recent posts...

What is the time limit on joining a thread? Often a thread topic is interesting, but the initial flurry of posts has passed, and it is a day or two old. I sometimes don't add to a post in the first day because I'm busy in the BDF (or in real life... insert sarcasm here). So, how long after a thread has cooled is it okay to add to it?

I recognize there isn't a rule about this. I'm looking for opinions.

I'd say it depends on how relevant the topic is and how active the thread has been, and whether the original poster is still around

I tend to just check to year to make sure it hasn't gone totally zombie :p

I'd say the first couple of weeks, it should still be considered "current". Not everyone can participate every day, so this gives others a chance to be able to contribute even if they weren't in the initial flurry.
