A question for the singles:

Does the income salary of a potential marriage partner matter (whether high or low).
Nope. I earn enough for two. (I guess I don't spend that much money....)

Look, I’ll even answer my own question @1christian1

Yes and no. Yes because I’d like to have a husband that can provide both financially, and invested in the relationship. Any Extra income would be nice but I also know I may not get my way and I’m okay with that.

Now, was that so hard? As I said, you don’t have to answer my questions.
But. It has to be a man of good work ethics. That is not satisfied spending time on the computer playing games while I earn the money.

Not nearly as much as how he handles money and his attitude towards it.

A question for you guys.

Will it feel intimidating for the man if the woman earns more? How will that affect the roles in marriage?

I personally would consider this a blessing... I suspect that many men might be a tad 'put-off', but I've know several who were very confident in their own skin and very proud of their spouses career successes...

Given my current situation (going thru divorce and dealing with heightened stress in workplace at the same time) - I've worked hard my entire adult life, and I'm currently doing a lot of self reflection and soul searching. Questioning 'should I continue to work for a living, or should I begin to live for a living?'... Not sure yet, but there is the possibility that I might be willing to transition to a less stressful and even more fulfilling job; which is very likely to result in accepting a lower salary in order to find myself, peace, and tranquility along my new journey - wherever HE may lead me...

All that being said - I honestly believe that I would be more than comfortable (if not smitten) with a 'partner' who was equally comfortable with are relative financial statuses. A shared understanding of common life-priorities - acknowledging that money is not as important as our faith and mutual commitment toward our union/partnership...

We have discussed this to a great extent, my boyfriend and I, and we are now at peace with that I will earn more, and that he even might need to go through a period of unemployment for a while when learning the language here. It wouldn't mean he would lose his headship in marriage, though

Hmmmm.... my initial thought is no. I suppose I might have insecurity to deal with if I feared a woman might want someone who makes more? But generally more money would be better. I’m getting better with money, but also wouldn’t mind a wife that would be good with that stuff.

If she earns more, then that's the way it worked out. You just go with it.

I'm still cutting grass!

Its kinda sad..a lot of men i have dated recently live with thier parents and are around MY AGE of 51! Some say due to divorce 2 plus yrs ago.. Dont buy it..these men have better incomes than i do n im on my own...its kinda expected for a woman to be on her own even with children but there seems to be a different stamdard for men..and yes..rents and taxes are high here but honestly.. I just think they want thier mothers to take care of them again..so guys BIG TURN OFF TO POTENTIAL DATES..IF YOURE OVER 30..BIG TURN OFG TO BE LIVING AT HOME WITH PARENTS..GET A ROOM MATE OTHER THAN PARENTS. :) lol
Well the reasons I live my parents is 1: they need money for the mortgage 2:I cannot drive due too severe anxiety 3:because said anxiety including depression and OCD I need a fair amount of emotional support or I will most likely end up in the bath tub neck deep in my own blood. If a girl doesn't like that I guess I don't need em
