I think everyone has something that they despise about their personality. What's 'comforting' to know is that everyone else has their pit falls as well- just different ones. I remember that when I begin to wish I had another personality. For me my pitfalls have to do with romantic interest. Having a crush is bad news bears for me :s Also trouble with friendships.
I agree with that, at least in part. There isn't anything I can think of off the top of my head that I outright despise about my personality. Instead I have multiple things that have a downside as well as an upside that sort of converge at inopportune times. To some people I'm "weird" (pronounced in a short manner, usually in a low voice; different from "weird: positive sense"), "loud", "obnoxious", and "annoying/immature". That hurts. I am either knowingly or unknowing trying to entertain you because that's habitually how I make friends.

Friends are my tender spot… a "weakness", if you will.
But ask somebody else and suddenly I'm "witty", "weird" (positive meaning, usually pronounced in a state of laughter, and therefore sounding like "WEEHEeheEHEEEEird"), or "hysterical", or "earthy" and "confident". (Or more neutral, nonspecific words are used, like "crazy", "insane", "looney", "special", and "bizarre".)
