A thread about bacon, and yet not one reference is made to delicious Canadian Bacon???

It's the only export we have that the rest of the world actually wants (well that and the educational social commentary found in the movie "Canadian Bacon").

Actually, the movie was made by Michael Moore, who I'm sad to say was born in America...but you can have him. Seriously! We'll take up a collection so you don't have to pay for postage...

That's because Canadian bacon isn't REAL bacon. Duh. ;)

Turkey bacon only comes from the rare mutant pigs born with feathers and a giblet. Of course. :)

Then again... the way they genetically alter most of our food nowadays... even without labels or notifying to consumer... there might be more truth to that than fiction.

What about nitrates? Don't all cured meats have nitrates that cause death within minutes?
Sorry......I used to love cured meats, they now do not like me! If I can't eat it surely no one else can either.

nah, Canada Dry makes a good Ginger (not a redhead reference) Ale. Since ginger ale is about the only carbonated beverage I still drink I can't forget about Canada Dry.

They used to, but now they've been cured.

Pork is a condiment or a small side dish. It's meant to add to a meal, not BE the meal. Also, it belongs on pizza.

False. Honey ham - meal. Pork roast - meal. If you look up the word 'Da Biggity Bomb' in the dictionary, there is a picture of a pork chop sandwich.

Ham, when in a casserole is okay. I don't think I've had pork roast, and I've had pork chops. I haven't had them since I was a kid though... Maybe I should try pork again.

The secret to an amazing pork chop is brining. (Coincidentally, this is also the secret to good poultry.) Look up the Dean and Deluca pork chop brine (Google it, it's on many websites and blogs because it's sooooo good) and try it. Every pork chop after that will be a pale shadow in comparison.

The last time I had a pork chop was pre-car accident, so I don't remember what one tastes like. I was told that I didn't eat pork, so I just kinda went with it.

Also, I just watched the episode that Joss Whedon wrote of The Office. So funny!
