Hello everyone. This is the first time I have posted something in the Christian Singles Forum. I am 45 years old and I never have had a girlfriend ever in my lifetime, or even gone on a date with a female. I feel like a loser. People who have never had a girlfriend/boyfriend by the time they reach the age of 45 seem to considered to be losers by other people.
There is nothing wrong with me personally. I have a nice physique also. I am well off financially.
Yet, I can't find that elusive girlfriend. I am starting to become really frustrated.
I have started to pray to God every night before going to sleep that He leads me down the path to finding a girlfriend. God has no problem answering my other prayers to Him, but God just won't answer my prayer in finding a girlfriend and my faith in God is starting to become low because of it. I have had suicidal thoughts if God doesn't find me a girlfriend in the next year or two.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do? It is not cool to be 45 years old and to never have had the experience of having a girlfriend. If there is one person in the world that deserves a girlfriend more that anyone else, it is me.

Financially well off and never had a girlfriend.......Is this the secret to success, or just one of those strange coincidences? You should count your blessings. Also, if you are suicidal, you should seek professional help....NOW!

The problem is that women can sense desperation in a man and it always turns them off (makes the man unattractive to them). They are also turned off by men who seem weak. I'm not saying that you are weak since I don't know you, but desperation comes off as weakness. I suggest that you learn how to be more confident and relaxed in the company of a woman. I don't really have any pointers in that regard except to not put women on a pedestal and don't try to be too nice. Being overly nice can be interpreted by women as weakness (and usually is). Don't be mean though. Just don't be a pushover. Ok, maybe none of this applies to you... If so, nevermind.
These are awesome pointers..Don't count yourself short Z.T..

Hey Robin
Has any of this been of some help to you?
Draw close to God, read your Bible and pray every day and look to Him and He will lift you up.
Keep trusting Him, keep loving Him.

Our light affliction which is but for a moment works for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.

He is able to do abundantly and exceedingly more than we ask or think.

For we know that God works all things together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purposes.

Hope you are okay🙂

Yikes! It seems you've left it a little late to be asking for help now...

Register on some online dating sites (preferably free, and definitely Christian). The world is a big place (I'm presuming where you live is not). Start talking to single girls who share your beliefs, at least to make some friends. Try to engage in video chat before meeting any in person - this helps confirm that you are really talking to the girl you saw in the photographs, not a transvestite, an eloquent goat who taught itself to type or other such abominations. Don't waste too much time deciding - if you're not sure about becoming romantically involved with someone after talking for a month or so, move on. Time is not on your side! You're almost old enough to be someone's grandpa, but in many cultures, younger women can overlook age (to a degree) in return for financial security... (But be aware - conversely, there are also many women who would be happy to rob an old guy of his money by marrying then divorcing).

If you meet a girl you like, be prepared to have to travel to meet her. It may cost you something, but from the sounds, it would be a price you are willing to pay. Obviously, the above is my opinion, but would need to be weighed against your own values and faith.

Have you met a special woman, and tried asking her out? Or, have you not a special woman at all? Men usually take the lead on dating. There might have been a woman who waited for you to ask her out.
This! TILL THIS DAY the God designed gender roles ARE in fact in place and most people still subconsciously PREFER THEM. Remember this as well: Women are people too! Which means you can approach them like you would approach anyone, no need to put them on a pedestal as some unapproachable holy object that we can only hope to have the priviledge to speak to. They are just REGULAR PEOPLE like you and me.

So my advice is: GET OUT THERE TIGER, confidence is key, be yourself I can speak from experience that some women love a FREAK like me that never does anything the USUAL way, its interesting to some folks.

From my experience, I have only EVER been approached by TWO women in my entire life, TWO, and both of them were drunk enough to probably approach anything! That means TheIndianGirl's tip is true, maybe some women were WAITING on you to ask them out! You can strike a conversation about nothing really, give compliments be a gentleman but dont try TOO HARD like some of those whiteknights. You can recognize when someone enjoys your company.

Also change your prayer from GIRLFRIEND to WIFE, thats the key right there. Gotta get that wife, gotta PUT A RING ON HER, well you dont gotta, but its just our cultural custom to do so and they like the shiny stuff.

But you aint wrong about them dating sites, they are TREACHEROUS and I have personally never been on one. Bunch of COOKIE CUTTERS and dopesmokers on there trying to get a come up! Be careful of those dating sites people! EVEN THE CHRISTIAN ONES, I have heard many horror stories from the Christian ones, one guy married a "christian" woman and this lady done ran a debt on her and was cheating on him the WHOLE TIME. We dont play that where im from!

I am 33 and have not had a boyfriend. I could have some trust issues. I have done online dating, where the max we've seen each other is a few months. I think with two guys, it could have progressed further. I guess I would not be too surprised if I'm 40 and single. I feel some some pressure to rush out and get married (due to my age). My mom told me I might get desperate at my age so don't make rash decisions. Overall I believe the issue of whether I get married or not is in God's hands.

My wife made a rash decision to accept my marriage proposal. She was 30.
She could have done better. But she could have done worse too.
Life is like that.
I think we are soulmates though. Our love grows every day .

My son just married someone who is 36. You need to maintain a positive approach and not fear that you will neve get married. God says to delight yourself in Him and will give you the desires of your heart'' Ps 37:4
God bless and Happy New Year:).

7 Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman.
7 Art thou bound unto a wife? seek not to be loosed. Art thou loosed from a wife? seek not a wife.
28 But and if thou marry, thou hast not sinned; and if a virgin marry, she hath not sinned. Nevertheless such shall have trouble in the flesh: but I spare you.
29 But this I say, brethren, the time is short: it remaineth, that both they that have wives be as though they had none;
32 But I would have you without carefulness. He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord:
33 But he that is married careth for the things that are of the world, how he may please his wife.
34 There is difference also between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman careth for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married careth for the things of the world, how she may please her husband.
35 And this I speak for your own profit; not that I may cast a snare upon you, but for that which is comely, and that ye may attend upon the Lord without distraction.

I think that your focus is on the wrong thing! Focus on doing Gods will in all things and at the right time, if it be gods will, God will bring you a wife! if not, just serve God and you will have love!

By realising you deserve a boyfriend more than anyone else, you are halfway there. Now you only need to convince an eligible boyfriend of this, and you will be set.

I recommend email chain letters. Folks love those. Put a convincing argument stating the above in an email chain letter, and put a realistic sounding punishment for non-forwarding at the end, to ensure the email goes viral. I usually find the text "If you do not forward this email chain letter on to at least 10 eligible [insert your own criteria or phrase here], your email address will be provided to a database for Nigerian scammers, and henceforth be next to unusable with all the spam you will receive".

Then just relax, sit back, and wait for Mr Right to respond.

That's pretty clever, and if people still used email it would work. These days you have to threaten to give their phone number to spammers. Or their Facebook IDs, for those who still use Facebook.
