Speaking of cute, I adopted an opossum.
It's only temporary though. She growls when I mess with her food dish, so that's a good sign. I'm just concerned because a neighbor just poisoned some wildlife.

Looks like the "possum" is a little different from our "Opossum" here, one account says they are more like a big chinchilla, very interesting.

1. The North American Virginia Opossum is always called a "possum."
The only person who ever wanted to argue this was a 12 year old. I'm glad he read something about that though. Technically our possum is called an Opossum, but I go with Granny Clamper on this one.

2. The article says they are mostly scavengers. That is incorrect. That's only a small.part of the diet. They are opportunistic and eat very many things. Mice and tick populations are decreased by their feeding behavior.

I believe that your possums are herbivores, but our opossums are omnivores.

My guess is that they had the same parents going back to the ark and like many creatures, they developed unique traits from genetic diversity and isolation.
Nobody knows for sure. The main similarity is that they are all marsupials.

I disproved a commonly held belief about our own possums when I raised orphans. They were very intelligent. The juveniles were quicker to learn than dogs.

Anyhow, you got me started so I have to resist the urge to write an article.
I used to teach, so I tend to go into more details than sometimes I should. Lol

Your country has an amazing variety of possums. I think you are blessed to have one visit. Do you feed a dog outside or what do you think attracted him to your porch? That would be startling to hear thumping. I heard that a couple months ago and it was someone trying to break in.

You then have to find how they got in and block them from returning.

I would hear him walk on the roof but this time I heard him on the porch. It sounded like a person as they are quite heavy. When I first saw him I was a little shocked at his size and glowing eyes. At first I thought he may have been a koala. I dont have a dog so he was not after food. He just used my house as a walk way to get to his tree I think? He took off rather fast.

Once I closed my window and something flew out from under the sill where it was hiding and flew around the lounge and kitchen in a circle. At first I thought it was an enormous moth of some sort. Then I realised that it must have been a bird and thought how on earth did the bird get inside the house. Upon closer inspection I realised it was a bat. Well that freaked me out. It was flying so fast in circles. I was petrified lol. I managed to get the door open and prayed really hard that God would get him to fly out the door. He did and I was very relieved. The joys of living in the country. Right now where I live I am contending with scorpions and red back spiders. This country is full of critters large and small. There is never a dull moment.

Hey bats are awesome! They eat mosquitoes on-the-fly. Anything that eats mosquitoes gets my vote.

Well if you are going to do another show I could be your co host lol. I have had to fight off insects, spiders, snakes, birds and wild animals. Everything here is large for some reason and plentiful. Roos are currently a problem. It is their season and there are so many of them. The guy that lived close to my sister was recently killed by one. He was mauled. A horrible death to have. They are not the cute animal that the media makes them out to be. This one was a pet he raised from a baby. I guess they are wild deep down.

Another problem we have here are dogs. I dont like them. Aus has the greatest population of dogs. People have them to defend their property as we dont have guns. They are supposed to have them on leads in public but many dont and so they will come running after you and jump on you when you go for a walk. God has saved me from a vicious one twice in one day. People here substitute human companionship with dog companionship. I much prefer cats.

Does anyone else also feel like as a Christian, finding a spouse is a million times harder than those who are non-Christians? I've made peace with the fact that I can't just marry anyone and that God has to give me the go-ahead before I even entertain the idea of being with someone. The closer I get with God, the more things I add to my list of things that a man needs to have (e.g. a healthy prayer life, knowledge of/belief in the spiritual realm, filled with the Holy Spirit, a desire to worship God every day amongst other things) for me to even consider entering into a relationship and I feel like I might be putting myself in a box by having all these checkboxes. Can anyone relate? I definitely don't wanna settle or end up with the wrong person but I'm worried that I'm being too selective. But it just feels like most Christian men my age (27) that I encounter are lacking in these things/the passion for Jesus.

I know how you feel, dig into your calling, when your so focus on what your call to do, God will put the right man in your life, but you both have to be ready for that kind of commitment , get into prayer ask God, what my next step, I hope this helps you,

Please clarify how this pertains to the topic at hand.

What it looks like you're saying is, "don't try to go out and find a spouse and make something happen. Just live your life and see what comes your way. If God sends you a spouse, great! If not, life is still pretty good."

Is that what you meant? Because that's actually exactly how I live my life... but I have observed that doesn't work well for some people.

Hi y'all, it's been a while but I just wanted to post an update/give a testimony. I found him. I found someone who is the exact person I prayed for to the tee. It's almost scary how perfectly he matches my prayer for a spouse and he feels the same way about me. Before we met (in church) he had a dream where God showed him my face and said that I was to be his wife. Safe to say that he freaked out when he saw me coming down the stairs in his church for the first time. The girl from his dream. I cried when he told me this. I also had a dream a few months ago that I would marry a pastor. He is a pastor by the way. And God has been confirming to both of us separately and together that we are meant for each other. He is even more prayerful than me (sometimes sleeps in the church and he spends all night praying). He loves Jesus more than anything and has a heart for doing missions. He's also my age (2 months younger than me to be exact) I cant believe he actually exists. Every time I think about him, I thank God. We both believe that we're each other's soulmates and we're so excited to build God's kingdom together. We're soooo compatible and he's just so kind and caring and I can tell that he truly loves me with the live of God.

So don't lose hope! I had no idea that I would find my godly spouse in Korea. I had even started thinking that I would have to lower my standards a bit if I wanted to get married. But God sent me someone who is even higher than my standards. I just can't believe how blessed I am. For those waiting for the one, keep praying and believing and waiting. God has already given us all the spiritual blessings in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 1:3) so hold onto that word, believe it and your answered prayers will be made manifest. Amen.
