I would loooove to go to sleep. But my kiddos naps are not even sort of over-lapping today. Wait...oh! The littlest one just passed out. Which means the other one will prolly wake up in about 10 minutes.

Everyone has a hoppin' social life. Their Friday nights are busy.

(Technically, I wasn't here either, but being social had nothing to do with it. Had to roll into town for groceries and the gym.)
Groceries, weh, got them, but, shobropony, pick me up a gym if you could :D

Cris, I hope you get some rest.

I have a lot of platelets. They like my platelets. I haven't donated since I moved here. Need to again. I was absolutely creeped out by needles when I was younger, but Shouryu is right, you get used to it and it's no big deal.

I can't donate blood or plasma. My body does not react well to it. I almost passed out each time and threw up the last time. That's when I decided no more.

Yea. Might try again later when my immune system is a little more mature. They said that might be the problem.

Ditto, CCG, I , too, gave blood about 10 years ago and nearly fainted and have not done it since, I was given no reason why not, but, yeah, my immune system, although great the last year and a half, has, at times, given me fits some years, I was sick from Sept. 2011 to Jan. 2012, it took four rounds of amoxycillin and finally I took Cipro and it destroyed the bacteria that was eating up my sinuses .Praise God :) Not sick since. Praise God, again :)

Also, I am AB+ blood type and so I can receive any blood type in event I need blood but I can only give to someone who is AB+ , so, I guess, my blood is not so needed, that's how I look at it anyway. The Lord leads, I would give again, in a heartbeat, if He led me to :)

My husband and I are both b negative, when I was pregnant I had to get this shot in case either of the kids where a positive blood type and my body produced anti bodies that tried to rid my body of the baby. This is what I was told anyhow.

My point is, isn't that weird?

My late husband's mom had the same Rh issue with having kids. What is weird is that BOTH you and your husband are the same type. I'm thinking the greatest risk is if the baby inherits a positive Rh factor from the dad, but it has been awhile since I studied this stuff.

I'm O negative, and my husband is...A positive? Er...something positive, heh. I had to get that shot, too- I guess it's good I did, because both kiddos are O positive.

Oh wow, I can't remember what my kids are I think they are also both b negative. I used to know, but I can't remember. I had this little card they gave me and had to carry it with me to let everyone medical know I got that shot. It drove me a bit crazy. I'd show someone the card and they'd ask, so you got the shot? No I'm just carrying around this card for kicks and giggles. Yes, I told you I got the shot, I have the card that says I got the shot, it's in my medical records in front of your face that I got the shot but yet you still ask if I got the shot! Good times, good times.

I got those cards too...they're both in my purse, but I have no idea what the point of them is. Like...ok, I show it to someone so they know I got it, but why do they need to know this?

This may not be the cast, but do you eat enough/drink enough before you try to give? The very first time I gave blood, it went so smoothly, I thought "That's it?" Then the next two times I tried later on, they had to lay me down afterwards because I almost passed out. It's such a horrible feeling, though I did get to finish giving blood each time. :)

It really freaked out the nurses both times, though, because I'm pale to begin with, with rosy cheeks, so to see me THAT pale with no color in my face...I just looked dead.

I can't tell if my long sleeve button shirt is dark red, maroon, mahogany or just plain red. Jeez, those females and complicating the crayon system.

Theoretically, it is so in an emergency you can show it to the hospital and it will save some time if they need to do a blood transfusion. However, they're going to type match anyway, so yeah... I dunno.
