Maria might be confident, but the children at first think her dress looks ugly and they play tricks on her

She wins them over though with thinking about her favourite things and making clothes out of curtains. If you havent seen this movie, where have you been?

Confidence is attractive. Arrogance is not.

Confidence is believing in your self-worth and abilities and being able to engage with others knowing that you are worthwhile. They don't always have to be right to be confident in their abilities. Confident people can take constructive criticism and use it to improve. They are kind to others and don't criticize or belittle others to make themselves feel superior.

Arrogance is an exaggerated sense of self-importance and superiority. Arrogant people are insecure and seek validation from others by bragging and boasting about their capabilities. They are know-it-alls who can never admit to being wrong. Arrogant people criticize and belittle others to try to make themselves look superior.
I like that really like the way you put it :) Really like the perspective, you are the best :):)

BTW the Sound of Music is based on a true story, lest anyone think its all totally made up and unrealistic

However, not sure that the real Maria Von Trapp looked or sounded like Julie Andrews. She was Austrian after all.

I think its the hat that gives her confidence, dont underestimate the power of a good hat lol

I feel that I got so much wrong with me, that I don't see anyway of fixing it all. But maybe if I manage to get a new job this summer. The might help me feel better.

I think being comfortable with oneself is attractive, but confidence for the sake of confidence which borders on arrogance or being overly assertive is not.

If confidence is attractive I will remain single sadly . The only confidence I have is in God through his son and the Holy Spirit
But each to their own

Confident but humble For me that is attractive 😌 I said that because I know some people who are too confident that they became so arrogant and rude already... 😊

How about just ...quietly confident

ie. you dont boast about anything or brag and just keep whatever you have to yourself.

if people ask you you can just say the proof is in the pudding...or something cryptic they have to figure out themselves.

Boastful and confident are two different things...I think 🤔

I give self confident people a wide berth, and prefer to work/be with the humble and contrite of heart. But if we are talking about being collaborative and decisive, yep...I'm OK being with them.

"clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, for God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble. Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you. Be of sober spirit, be on the alert."
