Last night, I had a beautiful dream. It was strange in a way, and let me start out by saying it wasn't caused by cold meds or anything strange I could have eaten, which, in the past, have caused weird dreams. What made this dream unique was my perspective through the entire thing. There were basically three vignettes.
In the first one, I was asked by two of my friends to help them with their accounting homework. As you can imagine, accounting is nothing more than boring numbers. In my dream, accounting came alive! I could see how it flowed together. It was almost like watching musical notes flowing in the air rather than numbers on a page.
Next, I was helping a 3 on 3 girls basketball team find another player for their roster. I was explaining how this woman would be the perfect addition to them and how she would compliment their skills. One of the existing players would have to switch positions, but I was able to present the case as if I was painting a picture and were attempting to bring all the aspects that I wanted to show together harmoniously.
Finally, the last one was about jewelry. It was a piece that accented a women's profile. It was worn on top of the head and draped down the sides of her face. I could see how it flowed with her natural beauty and features. Each jewel, each chain, followed her facial contours, as if she was born with it.
Throughout the dream, I felt like I was seeing the world, for the first time, through the eyes of an artist. I tend to be mostly logical with creative tendencies, but this was beyond anything that I have ever experienced before. It was a beautiful journey and allowed me to appreciate a point of view that I can only assume occurs in those with artistic gifts and talents.
