WELL GUESS WHAT???!!!! I'M THE ONE ANSWERING THIS AND THIS IS MY STORY AND NO ONE CAN EVER TELL ME DIFFERENT BECAUSE THIS IS THE DAY MY LIFE TOOK A TURN (FOR THE BETTER)
Youth camp. I was 14/15... (think 15).
I had been in a treatment center the week prior after attempted suicide......
I was sitting in the pew listening as Youth Pastor . was giving open mic to let people share testimonies.............
I didn't really know what I was going to say....... especially since I did not like getting in front of groups to speak at that time, but I felt a pulling....... and it just got stronger and stronger and next ting I know I'M RUNNING UP THERE! Youth Pastor was smiling from ear to ear, more than he was a second ago......
I don't even remember what i said........... just something about how the last week had been and if you guys ever feel you need someone to talk to (started naming off the youth leaders names) are so loving and wonderful to talk to and and and.....
Youth Pastor took the mic back and said something about prayer and lets just all pray with her something something something...........
and next thing I know ..........................
THERE'S THE TONGUES.
WOW!!!! I mean WOW OH WOW OH WOW!!!!!!
Now isn't it just like Satan to try and stop and steal what the Lord is doing in someone?
Later that night in our room, the woman who was the "room mom" made some neg comments about it when I started asking questions and that only brought along doubt and some fear of "what if I'm making this up....... (YOU CAN"T make this stuff up- ANOTHER of Satan's LIES to keep us from what God has for us!!!!!!!!!)
Instead of tapping into it I ended up suppressing it for several years.... but it was there........
NOW, as I said above..........
THAT'S MY STORY...... that's the first time I can REALLY recall being so filled with the HOLY SPIRIT.
Actually, I heard Him speaking A LOT in my early childhood (4/5/6) , I just didn't know that then....... no one had ever taught me about that.
I DO , however know people who are Holy Spirit filled, and yet don't speak in tongues.....

wow, this has been happening to me the past few weeks, sporadically speaking in tongues. And a feeling of being filled with the Holy Spirit. I thought it was coming from the enemy, but it happens so often , particularly after worship or prayer.
