Alright...some of these pictures are revolting so I didn't make it to the second page.

I like eyelashes. I had a female or two comment that mine were nice and I suppose they are at the upper limit of what a guy could have without looking...hmm...

Later I singed my hair and one of them got singed as well... :(

They don't grow back the same way just f.y.i. Now one is light blond at the ends (barely) but it is different.

I've seen a couple of females that have "struck" me with accentuated eyelashes. It really brings out their eyes but it can look a little...manufactured if overdone. Light strokes of some eyeliner is enough if yours are lighter colored and you want to bring them out, but if they are already dark and moderately long then why bother?

I'm not opposed to the various "beautification accoutrements" that females think accentuate their appearance if it's for themselves. If it's for a guy though, I prefer very little embellishment.

Hey Everyone,

I was wondering what you all thought of the fashion/makeup trend that convinces women that they just have to have bigger and bigger... pairs of eyelashes.

My Mom and I went to lunch the other day (Mod Pizza! It's really good!), and one of the girls who was part of the assembly line had false lashes so bushy that they literally resembled a shag carpet.

It was a bit like this:

Unfortunately, I'm not exaggerating. Now I'm sure the girl had beautiful eyes, but I couldn't see them -- all I could see were these huge woolly caterpillars perched above her upper eyelid that would move up and down when she blinked. (I am 310% sure that there is no way they were natural, as her bottom lashes were just a thin line.) I was seriously wondering how she could even see in order to make the pizzas.

And I always wonder exactly how these trends start. I'm sure there are executives at fashion and makeup corporations who decide things like these are THE latest painful, expensive "look" that women "must" have, and then proceed to market the bajingas out of it.

I myself have extremely sensitive eyes and have never been able to hop on the false eyelash, let alone mascara or even full eye makeup bandwagon. The only time I try to wear eye makeup is maybe for church, and then I have to wash it off as soon as I get home because my eyes are burning.

And I can't help but think that men really don't notice or care about women's eyelashes all that much.

But maybe I could be wrong?

Now I'm certainly not trying to say that advertising doesn't push unrealistic ideals on both genders.

I was just curious as to how much eyelashes mattered to men (supposedly the ones we are doing this to impress,) if at all.

So how about it, everyone?

* Ladies, what do you think of the really really false false eyelash trend? Do you bother putting in the time or trouble to try it? How do you like the results?

Just to be clear, I'm in full support of anyone who likes to do a little natural enhancement (of the eyelash variety.) I would do so myself if they didn't make me feel like my eyes were on fire. The only lashes I question are the ones that are so extreme, you're wondering what kind of fuzzy creatures the woman glued on to her eyelids that morning.

* Men, have you, or are you, attracted to women with an impressive set of... eyelashes?!

I'm looking forward to what I'm hoping will be a fun (and informative) thread!

never even consider a woman's eyelashes when look at attractiveness, her eye definitely.

what about those clown ones, the ones that are multicoloured. why not just embrace your outragousness and try them...? me, I'm too chicken cos I just KNOW I would probably glue my eyelids together if I tried.

But in the interests of scientific enquriry, and because you want to prove your hypothesis, it might be time for you to experiment. Then this thread can be closed once and for all and we'll know the answer would be...

Yes men noticed that Seoul had very big eyelashes
or No men did not even notice, and did not even mention 'what very big eyelashes you have! ' as Seoul stares at them....batting her eyelids furiously, muttering under her breath 'the things I do for the CC singles forum!'

*******
I was trying to find some heart shaped sunnies for children to wear. I figured that might get them into summer reading if I claimed they were *magic* glasses. Especially if they had coloured lenses and made them look smarter. Like this emoji

Failing that, I am going for 3D glasses.

It would probably be result C - men noticed but tried to be polite and not say anything. Or that's what would happen here anyway. If anybody said anything about her falsies, it would be other girls.

Yes, eyes and lashes can be quite captivating.

But honestly, ladies, NATURAL IS BEAUTIFUL. Fake eyelashes, gluing plastic chips to your fingernails, and caking on the face paint is not attractive... 8o

I'm curious.
Do you mean the thread topic/comments.......
or do you mean the fact that women actually do this to themselves?
That a woman would do this to herself. And that she feels the need to because of some guy.

Yeah, but I understand why it happens.

Biblically speaking, women were created to be a helper for the man. So they naturally want the acceptance of men. They want to be considered beautiful.

And then on top of that, women do have - on some level - a need to be guided or led. Their nature makes them more gullible than men. (Don't beat me up on this one, ladies!) This is why health and beauty products target women especially and manipulate perceptions of beauty and femininity. Shave your legs ($$$ buy our razors)! Hide those blemishes ($$$ buy our makeup)! Ur 2 flat ($$$ buy some implants)! And on and on it goes... :/

And this is why Adam gets blamed for sin instead of Eve, despite sinning SECOND. Ever notice this in the Bible? Eve was DECEIVED. Adam KNOWINGLY CHOSE TO SIN. (And he chose the woman over God, material over divine.)

Ladies: healthy, natural, and virtuous is beautiful. PERIOD.

Bull. I can think of a hundred ladies right now, off the top of my head, that you could not get anything past. My mother is at the top of the list.

Gullible? I'd be gullible if I took your word that women are inherently gullible.

By the way, the entertainment potential of your presence on this forum just increased exponentially. Believe me, those ladies WILL beat you up on this one.

Me, I'm gonna go pop some popcorn and watch the show. :D

I honestly can't tell if you're trolling or really that naive. Or maybe it's wishful thinking - maybe you WANT women to be gullible.

It doesn't really make any difference though. It's gonna be entertaining either way.

Oh yeah, can't forget to grab some juice too. (I'm not big on soda, but I gotta have something to sip while the show is playing.)

Wow. The guy who thinks the earth is flat thinks women are gullible (and I bet he doesn't even see the irony).

Are you sure you know the Bible as well as you think? The help women give men.... the Hebrew word there is ezer and if you ever lookup how that word is used in the Bible, pretty much every other use of it is a reference to the kind of help God gives when you're in serious danger from enemies. It's like the ally or secret weapon that comes in and turns the tide of battle help. Also relevant to this discussion is that the whole "you desire will be for your husband and he will rule over you" bit shows up in the part where God is declaring the negative consequences of their sin to them. Which leads to questions of is that in our nature, especially so if we've been saved and redeemed from the fall? Also leads to wondering what kind of woman is so gullible that she takes the advice of the man who thinks she's gullible as to what beauty is.

And men are just as gullible but about different things. If a woman's beauty is where her value lies (according to culture / the world) then a man's strength and abilities are where his value lie. I'll never forget a comment in a book I read about the author being in some great art museum and noticing that in all the art, the women were just sitting there while the men were always doing something. And they commented on how odd it would be to see a picture of a man just sitting around waiting and not doing anything. So to compare apples to apples women want to be ugly about as much as men want to be weak and incompetent. And there are plenty of advertisements directed towards men that involve the ideas of power, getting the hot girl (because she's valuable and you're a real winner if you can get a girl like that), or all the sport, fitness, protien powder and free weights marketed towards men.

Seems like it's mostly abusers and those who disregard women's opinions entirely who think women have a need to be guided and led. And I thank God frequently that I live in a society where I'm free to not need a man like that.

Dangit! You saw right through my clever attempt to reverse-pych you! I confess! Fake women with plastic chips glued to their fingers, tons of makeup, fake eyelashes like fuzzy kittens, and excessively enhanced chests are supremely attractive! Now you know my weakness!!!! :(

Oh yeah, I meant to warn you... That's one of those non-gullible women I know.

She has a day job as tech support for a company's staff. She has an engineering degree and can retrofit any wall electrical outlet. She recently bought and takes care of maintenance on her own home. She can cook. She knows how to make homemade chloroform. AND she knows the guys who run the guv'mint black helicopters (she used to work in procurement for their company.)

And that's only what we've been able to glean over the last few years. She probably has other qualifications too.

With the engineering degree I might wish she lived closer, as we have a couple iffy wall outlets she might investigate. But with the homemade chloroform I'm glad she lives so far away and has no idea where I live. :p

Considering all that show up...there's no telling.

Personally I think that those women who do those weird things to their eyes look intriguing...but that doesn't mean that I find it attractive. It just makes me want to stare. At least it's not staring at a body part that gets me in trouble.

Hmm, so "cinder" is what happens to those who get on her bad side, eh? ;)

I guess I had better behave myself and not "poke the bear" too much, hehe!

Nah, she wouldn't waste the effort. If you're too irritating she will wait until after the amusement factor is exhausted, then put you on ignore.

Now if you knew her in person, and were in a position to get in the way of something she wanted to get done... Well, just be glad you only know her online, where all you can do is irritate.

I never really thought about eyelashes much... Think i would find the eyebrows more interesting. I remember back in highschool i used to sit next to a chola girl who would shave her eyebrows off and paint those little thin eyebrow lines on, she'd be upset sometimes but her eyebrows would still look surprised lol.
