I don't want to go to work tomorrow. Been working 10-11hr days so I can take Friday off to take care of my mom. She's been through a lot, was in a car accident a couple weeks ago and totaled her car and now she is having surgery tomorrow. Life has sure been busy and I have been learning to communicate better which is proving to be successful, been sleeping a lot when I get home and trying to make time for the important people in my life, not being so successful in that lol, but my migraines have decreased significantly and it looks like my temporary job may turn into a permanent one. Praise Jesus!!!

So, instead of us relying on Dan tha Man lol to come up with some questions, I thought I’d help a brada out & give a few, ya know like ‘paying it forward’ lol:

1. What is something that you still have from when you were a child, it can be of sentimental value or a cool as memory?

2. Are you a lefty, righty, or both?

3. Have you ever eaten something expired or outta date? Tell us about it.

4. What animal best relates to your personality?

5. Would you take $100 to shave your eyebrows off? 🤣

1. What is something that you still have from when you were a child, it can be of sentimental value or a cool as memory?
Nothing, i was forced to throw away things i outgrew except my books... not necessarily forced.
2. Are you a lefty, righty, or both?
Righty but i sometimes practice writing with my left hand. I can manage to use my left hand to sweep and wash.
3. Have you ever eaten something expired or outta date? Tell us about it.
Yea, i bought a sausage roll from the school mini mart. I immediately opened it without checking the expiring date which is unlike me. I took the first bite and i tasted something like rotten fish... yep, rotten fish, so curiously, i looked down to see what it was and guess what..... The sausage was looking kinda greenish. Then it struck me to check the expiry date and if i remember well... it expired a week before i bought it. Eww... i would have gone back to the mini mart to complain but i didn't have time for that so i threw it away and went to buy something else.
4. What animal best relates to your personality? I dunno really.... maybe a dog cuz i know myself to be loyal to people i form relationships with and for a friend...... i can do anything.

5. Would you take $100 to shave your eyebrows off? 🤣... Of course i would, are you kidding me? I shaved it off once before for nothing and now you're offering me $100... That's 35,000 naira over here...... i could buy myself any of this......

Hello deade, josie, mel... Have a great day at work dan.........
I want to apologize for my outburst yesterday... I am sincerely sorry, I just couldn't control my emotions, i know it's not something i should have posted on a christian site, especially not here where i call home but i wasn't thinking straight and for that i am really really sorry. I tried deleting it but it was already too late. To anyone/everyone whom that post offended..... i am truly really sorry. Please pray for me... it's still hurting. Thank you
Hello Sweet becc. First of all I want you to know I am not disappointed in you - that is impossible, for I love you. But I hurt when my Father hurts - this is inevitable by way of my spiritual living. I see you in the light of God's best, so when you chose to not accept His best - it hurts me, for I want only the best for you.

But in saying this, I also know how God works in our lives to grow us up and build our character. And to this end I am reminded of the story of Job in the Bible. Have you red it?

There is a great difference between Christian experience and Christian faith. The danger of experience is that our faith is made to rest in it, instead of seeing that our experience is simply a doorway to God Himself. The reason many of us refuse to think and discover the basis of true religion is because evangelical Christianity has been stated in such a flimsy way. We get at Truth through life and personality, not by logic or scientific statements. “Therefore have I uttered what I understood not; things too wonderful for me, which I knew not.” [Job 42:3] In refusing to stand by what was not true, Job uttered bigger things than he understood at the time.

That is the way God uses men when they are rightly related to Him; He conveys His real presence as a sacrament through their commonplace lives. Our Lord Himself becomes real in the same way that life and personality are real. Intellect asks, “What is truth?’ as if truth were something that could be stated in words. “I am… the Truth,” said Jesus. [John 14:6]. I have seen in you lately a desire to know Him more and be humble, rather than, simply wanting to know His answers alone - this came from difficulties - have you noticed?

The only way we get at Truth is by life and personality. When a man is up against things it is no use for him, or in your case her, to try and work it out logically, but let them obey, and instantly they will see their way through. Truth is moral, not intellectual. We perceive Truth by doing the right thing, not thinking it out. “If any man will do His will, he shall know of the doctrine…” Men have tried to get at the truth of Christianity head-first, which is like saying you must think how you will live before you are born. We instantly see the absurdity of that, yet we expect to reason out the Christian life before we have been born into the realm of Jesus Christ. “Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” If ever we are to see the domain where Jesus lives and enter into it, we must be born again, become regenerated by receiving the Holy Spirit; then we shall find that Truth is not in a creed or a logical statement, but in Life and Personality. That is what Job is realising.

You Sister are my Lil' Sis because I see you thru God's eyes and the hope I see is unwavering. Sure you stumbled but simply get back up and move into His mercy and grace and obey Him now. Remember the prodigal son story? Did the Master whip him then accept him? NO! He ran to him and clothed him with a robe and a feast. In the same way I hope only to give you my love God has first given to me by His mercy and grace...no other demands would I have for I am in the same boat as you. And the God I serve is a God of love for He is love. God is simply working you as He works all of His clay - into a Family likeness of Himself is all. Trust and obey - for there is no other way - to be happy in Jesus but to trust and obey. I love ya Lil' Sis and always will - even regardless of what you do - but I want the best for you always as well, and I hurt when my Father hurts.

So, instead of us relying on Dan tha Man lol to come up with some questions, I thought I’d help a brada out & give a few, ya know like ‘paying it forward’ lol:

1. What is something that you still have from when you were a child, it can be of sentimental value or a cool as memory?

When my Grandfather died He had lived three centuries - Born in 1899 he died in 2001 - my Grandpappa was a man of God I tear up for even today when thinking about him for His legacy was not His own at all, but was Jesus Christ Himself - which was His own as well then, well received. I loved my Grandfather dearly, as did I love my father as well for he too loved God with all of himself.

When my Grandpa died I was to go thru his things and pick items out of the earthly materials he left behind. Granted I was not a child per say, but this is too good of a story to pass up. LOL. I chose a dresser, and a night light. The night light was a real seashell made into a light and was personally made by him. This light shines every night towards me. And although his dresser was useful and antic, this light is meaningful and reminds me of the value of shining our light before men in way of our Lord found in us. I love you Lord more than ever and in large part by way of my Grandfathers light found in Christ shining on me thru his life and now even death.

2. Are you a lefty, righty, or both?

My brother is a lefty, while my other two siblings are right handed and I too am right handed. But while I was in recovery after my accident, I developed my left abilities much more. In fact for a while I learned to write with my left. Granted it looked like a 8 year old writing, but so what? I was proud of myself at the time. I even learned to shoot a basketball with my left hand as a kid to develop my game. Those days are over but I watch basketball left handed now too....LOL.

3. Have you ever eaten something expired or outta date? Tell us about it.

Oh this one is good! My sister got married and saved a trinket of chalk-like mints in a nylon mesh wrapped with a ribbon on it she had as hand-outs at her wedding. Well, years later, I go into her cedar storage case and find what appears to be a treat waiting to pounce on. Thus, I done did pounce. And low and behold what did I experience? Yep - you guessed it - utter terror! It tasted like cedar boards and it broke away in my mouth like powder and illness combined. I was sick and vomited it up immediately. Then, my sister walked in ... now that is another story ... thank God I need not sure that one....LOL

4. What animal best relates to your personality?

A Lion. I know the Scripture and all right? Well no - not only that but also because I am calm until I need not be or should be confident and authoritative - then I am enabled to do with confidence what I used to do as a domestic kitty but now do as a lion. Ok, fine - it is like the Scripture then! LOL

5. Would you take $100 to shave your eyebrows off?

No, but I would do it for free if you made me some cookies Mel! Wait What?:sneaky::unsure::whistle::coffee::giggle:

🤣

Hello renewed_hope - Your hope, I see, is the expectation and certainty of human nature transfigured by faith. Isn't it true, by way of your experiences, that hope without faith loses itself in vague speculation, but the hope of a Christian transfigured by faith grows not faint, but endures "as seeing Him Who is invisible." When once we come by way of experiencing being undressed by the Holy Spirit, we are never able to despair of anyone else.

I will continue to pray for all those issues of the migraine and surgery upcoming for Mom, and communication skills, and prosperity according to God's will for you, and intentionality in priority setting. I thank the Lord with you in your job opening doors, and your migraines subsiding. I pray they decrease to insignificance in bearing a weight in your life completely as well.

May God richly Bless you today - nice rubbing elbows with ya.

Settle down becc dear, one thing about around here: you are loved and forgiven. After all you are familia. I've been out on the BDF today so I thought I would check in. Family, meet a new follower of mine: thenointedsinner. He wanted some dependable friends, so I invited him here. Slave, I guess my biggest distraction is family. Not this family, my actual blood family. I guess even Christ had that problem at times. This is for Mel:
View attachment 184538 View attachment 184538 View attachment 184539 View attachment 184538 View attachment 184538

Oh Deade how I know how God uses our most intimate things like Family to make us stronger in Character. Wow - Right?!! I pray for ya in this without question. Thanks for sharing that, and in some ways I hear even persecution and disappointment in some of that if I am not mistaken. Would that be accurate? By the way welcome in thenointedsinner nice to have you with us.

Behold, the hour cometh…that ye shall be scattered. (John 16:32). Jesus is not rebuking the disciples, their faith was real, but it was disturbed; it was not at work in actual things. The disciples were scattered to their own interests, alive to interests that never were in Jesus Christ. After we have been perfectly related to God in sanctification, our faith has to be worked out in actualities. We shall be scattered, not into work, but into inner desolations and made to know what internal death to God’s blessings means. Are we prepared for this? I know - and family is what God uses many times to produce us in Character thru actualities. It is not that we choose it, but that God engineers our circumstances so that we are brought there. Until we have been through that experience, our faith is bolstered up by feelings and by blessings. When once we get there, no matter where God places us or what the inner desolations are, we can praise God that all is well. That is faith being worked out in actualities.

“…and shall leave Me alone.” Have we left Jesus alone by the scattering of His providence? Because we do not see God in our circumstances? Darkness comes by the sovereignty of God. Are we prepared to let God do as He likes with us — prepared to be separated from conscious blessings? Until Jesus Christ is Lord, we all have ends of our own to serve; our faith is real, but it is not permanent yet. God is never in a hurry; if we wait, we shall see that God is pointing out that we have not been interested in Himself but only in His blessings. The sense of God’s blessing is elemental.

I can almost hear the Scripture read: “Be of good cheer (Deade), I have overcome the world.” Spiritual grit is what we need.I pray He finish His work in you even as He reconciles you to family if possible. May God richly Bless you in your focus on Him over all other things Deade.

Lettuce us remember - to be vulnerable is to be able to invite others to invest in themselves (living outside of themselves) in Christ - in helping others.

Thank you Mel for paying it forward. I pray all of these questions we have entertained recently, simply give a platform for God to move in and speak to us all in some way by way of His faithful family members, and His Word. I am off to work soon - I pray you all have a great day in Him! We Praise Your name Lord!

1) The only item I can think of off the top of my head were these really cool sunglasses. They were like the glasses that the superhero cyclops (I think) would wear. Somehow I convinced my sister to get a pair so we could look identical. Mine ended up falling off my head when we were walking through the town and fell into a drain in the ground. When we got back home, my sister said she found my glasses, and that was all just a bad dream. It didn't dawn on me what happened until I was an adult.

2) Right handed. Except I wear my watch on my right hand which throws a lot of people off.

3) I don't remember eating something expired, but I remember when we went to a motel that was recently bought and renovated after 10 years of not being used. We had stayed at it before it went out and when we went back, my sister found a vending machine with doughnuts. I told her they were the same donuts that were there when we last stayed there, but she just said I was too young to remember that. She bought a doughnut and the ice machine kicked in, so she couldn't hear it thunk down. She goes to bite into it and bites down on this rock hard doughnut. She went to the front desk to let them know, and the owner/manager replies with this expression of remembrance and horror and replies, "We forgot to change the vending machines!"

4) I don't know

5) Why not, but I would shave the rest of my head while at it. Maybe it would encourage someone going through chemo and losing their hair.
