"You know when you get old in life
things get taken from you.
That's, that's part of life.
But,
you only learn that when you start losing stuff.
You find out that life is just a game of inches.
So is football.
Because in either game
life or football
the margin for error is so small.
I mean
one half step too late or to early
you don't quite make it.
One half second too slow or too fast
and you don't quite catch it.
The inches we need are everywhere around us.
They are in ever break of the game
every minute, every second."
This speech is from Any Given Sunday but a preacher I heard used it to sum up opportunities with god. He urged us to take every opportunity, one inch at a time. That person that says "it's cold today" while waiting for the train, the sales assistant that tries to start a convo, the person you get a brief urge to talk to then poof, it's gone. These are the opportunities god presents us with. Most of us face a few each day. Each one is a chance. Yeah sure, some may lead to nothing, but what if the one you miss is the one that can make a difference. Inch by inch. One moment too late or too early, the chance does not exist. That one off meeting could change someone's life. We will all miss chances as making them all is almost impossible, but the ones you realise, take it.
