Sounds like you are like so many people in thinking that as long as one party has a majority in the House and Senate plus holds the office of the Presidency they can pass anything. Other than votes on Confirmations it takes 60 votes to pass anything in the Senate (it’s called a Filibuster). Now think back and tell me who had a super majority of 60, in recent history? So any bill banning abortion would need every Republican (current day) And 6 Democrat’s to pass such a bill. Not going to happen!

This is a problem with our current education system. Our young people are not being taught classes in Government, the Constitution and classes on the First Constitutional Convention and the Founding Fathers. In some systems History is not required to Graduate, but classes on how terrible the U.S. is (Hate taught buy Liberal Professors) Is being taught. Can’t blame people if they are not taught, although we do have the option of teaching ourselves and our children things that are not being taught by our educators . It is also a Parents right to know what our children are being taught In the current education system.

That’s okay, but I did not limit my post to the senate. As you are aware of the SCOTUS has been conservative for a long time. There’s been many opportunities to file lawsuits in the courts, which could have reached the highest court.

Now, before you are lecturing me on the constitutional and legal barriers against a political party filing a lawsuit in this general direction, I would like to add that there is a multitude of anti abortion organizations willing to go through with such a process, if the funding could be guaranteed. Such guaranties are not established at any point, and the outcome of the lack of it is that Roe vs Wade still applies.

There is no legislation preventing Republicans from supporting such.

not because of contradiction of the amendment but because they had no legal justification to consider an unborn child a 'person' & therefore a citizen.

we have no law defining him or her as such. that's all that's necessary. if we defined citizenship at conception rather than birth it would suffice. the R's however, even though they had opportunity, didn't. instead they defined corporations as people ((Citizen's United)).

I appreciate post 1,218 and in 74 I was allowed to claim an unborn child on my 73 taxes. If that was legal we have a precedent, right?

As the President discussed in his State of the Union address months ago, this decision essentially opened the floodgates for the influence of huge corporations, including foreign-owned corporations, on our elections. Speaking in the Rose Garden, the President explained what this new limitless flow of undisclosed money will mean:

They can buy millions of dollars worth of TV ads –- and worst of all, they don’t even have to reveal who’s actually paying for the ads. Instead, a group can hide behind a name like “Citizens for a Better Future,” even if a more accurate name would be “Companies for Weaker Oversight.” These shadow groups are already forming and building war chests of tens of millions of dollars to influence the fall elections.
Now, imagine the power this will give special interests over politicians. Corporate lobbyists will be able to tell members of Congress if they don’t vote the right way, they will face an onslaught of negative ads in their next campaign. And all too often, no one will actually know who’s really behind those ads. ​

people say, 'democratic socialist capitalism = communism auuuuugghhhh!!!' but good grief, he'd never get half his pipe dreams passed into law. and none of his pipe dreams are Stalinist anyway, if you look at the truth. i'd just like to have a voice in the white house that was honest & that actually cares about people. it's how he would treat Israel that bothers me, not a red-scare-reboot.

SCOTUS, before Ginsburg died was 4 Liberals, 4 Conservatives and John Roberts who swings either way.

There are many lawsuits that have been filed and not gotten to the Supreme Court. In order for a case to be heard by the Supreme Court a party in the lawsuit has to petition the Court for a hearing. The Court receives hundreds of petitions every year, some petitions are heard and others are denied. There is a process but nothing in our laws says that the Court has to hear a case. They could just deny a hearing and the case reverts back to the lower court.

I’m Pro-life and very much anti-abortion (Murder even up to the ninth month). This is unimaginable.

I am not being emotional, I am tired of people not paying attention to the variables and the various components of any pandemic.

When beds are full people die.
When doctors and nurses are sick and over taxed people die
When you have regular flu season about to start while another flu is circulating the system becomes taxed and people die
Dead people cannot go to work
Who is getting sick those that cannot work from home.
People home sick drags on the economic system which is very interconnected
