The saying is true, a gun doesn't automatically choose who to shoot.
see people decide who they are going to kill, some one may decide to pick up a gun and shoot someone or a group of people but on the same side you can kill people with out a gun, poisoning or hanging or stabbing......
The only way to determine the threat of a weapon is to know what the beliefs and convictions of the person holding it is.
Besides shootings are only one use of a gun,
what about target shooting on a range for fun?
What about the farmer who uses it to keep dangerous animals away from his live stock?
What about the sharpshooter who shoots the criminal who is holding people as hostages??
Their is no one sided answer or simple answer. Every person and every situation has to be judged on its own merit
