We need to all take a breath here. I read this report from another site. The man was military and was discharged after suffering brain trauma. So there seems to be an issue there. If the boy cussed at him, he was wrong. But you cannot lay your hands on other people. So the guy is in the wrong and will probably see a lawsuit from it. But I hope someone looks into this guy and makes sure this isn't a mental issue.

Now apart from that incident you SHOULD respect that flag. People gave their blood, limbs and life for YOUR freedom to sit here on a pc and give your opinion. Had they not done that, and keep doing it, you wouldn't have all the freedoms you enjoy. And many, many people who serve are Christians. As they say, stand for the flag, kneel for the cross. Don't get it twisted, we know which is which.
I don't disrespect the flag. But we are not to serve the flag. It is nonsense that some people are supporting it to the point, where they lessen an attack on a child.

As for the military, I have family members who have served in the military and known folks that sacrificed all. So please don't give me a lecture on the expense of freedom.

God is no respecter of persons either, though.

I don't support anyone who assaults someone (especially a child) over not taking their hat off for the National Anthem no matter what reason they give.

Once again you’re interjecting. I never said he needed to learn any lessons, I said he’s going to take his hat off next time. Like when someone jaywalks, gets hit by a car and is killed and people say, bet he won’t do that again. Same thing. You need to lighten up Francis. You holier than thou hypocrites would be amusing if you weren’t so dangerous.
I'll try to put this into a language that you can understand then....

You messed up, didn't think before you posted, and posted something sadistic and not Christ like....You got called out over it and probably now feel like a douche bag....Even though, you're still trying to spin it....

I'd say now you'll think real hard before you post and probably won't do that again....;)

There's a difference between respecting the flag and idolatry.
If someone not removing his hat for the anthem makes you angry enough to put hands on him then you have turned it into an idol

You’re adorable. You’re calling me out incorrectly and using derogatory terms like douche bag in doing so. When losing the debate, attack your opponent instead. You’ve at least been consistent in both. I’m proud of you. Now about that plank of yours ...

You’ve finally said something correct.

I didn't do that so by "some people"I hope you mean someone else.

No one lectured you, you need to slow down on the emotional responses. I have family in the military too. I was simply making clear why the flag is important. Don't get it twisted.

God is no respecter of persons either, though.

Not sure what you mean by this comment. If you could expand on it, thanks.

I don't support anyone who assaults someone (especially a child) over not taking their hat off for the National Anthem no matter what reason they give.

Never said that, you're putting words in my mouth.

As I mentioned before this man may have a brain injury. So we're not dealing with someone who appears mentally healthy. A normal person isn't going to lay hands on someone else, over the flag or anything else. Respect isn't idolatry.

Nice distraction....Kinda "Smooth", but how's about we get back to the topic here. A man beat a child until he had blood coming out his ears and was unresponsive because the kid didn't take his hat off for the national anthem.

What's your thoughts on this? Oh, wait, I believe it was will I bet he'll take his hate off the next time.

You posted something cruel and idiotic, got called out, and now want to bring in the holier than thou bull...Sorry not falling for your twisting.

You messed up... so why don't you just admit it?

Here's an example.... I'm sorry if the word D-Bag is offensive to you...

Not putting any words in your mouth. Didn't say you said any of that.

Here's the point though, I was having a discussion with someone else and then I get all this education and lecturing from you... as if I don't respect the flag or I am just sitting around being free and cursing soldiers and America.

In the post you replied to you, I said anyone who supported this incident... So unless you support it then I wasn't talking to you.

Funny how this is a non-story. One of those articles you would only find in the local town newspaper. However as the asailent mentioned Trump, the media will be all over it as something else to hold up as to how evil the POTUS is. Now we have all the liberals foaming at the mouth and posting this all over the internet, including this forum.

Sure he was in the wrong, but its a foregone conclusion that anyone thinking that way and reacting in that way is not mentally stable. This man needs psychological help, not a prison sentence.

Maybe so. The thing is though, he needs to be in a psychiatric hospital right now, and not sitting at home after beating a child. If he's that unstable, then why in the world did they send him home?

I'm surely not a Dem. This story should have nothing to do with whether you are a democrat or republican.

That's what is so infuriating about this thread. Instead of some people looking at this as an awful incident. Many wanted to come in throwing off on abortion and what not to distract from what actually took place. Saying things like well if you can murder the unborn what's your problem with beating kids. Or the infamous...I bet he'll take his hat off next time.

Why would Christians try to turn this into a political debate?

Nobody lays hands on a kid because the kid fails to remove his headwear during the national anthem. It’s just sick.

We’re many veterans in this country. Many of us are traumatized in various ways, but on that day we fail to adjust to society we can’t expect to be hailed for acting in accordance with our traumas.

Having said that it’s a disgrace how society is treating the veterans that need assistance to readjust.

I hope the politicians will acknowledge that the people they’re shipping off to war will be treated accordingly when they are back on American soil.

Anyone who would do this to a child needs a lethal injection

If you consider what I said lecturing then you are either very young an immature, or very sensitive. Don't take your anger out on me. I said nothing for you to be angry about. You're being far too reactive to what I said. I never said anything about you disrespecting the flag or anything about soldiers. You're in a lather over nothing. And listen, this is a discussion forum, that's what people do here and I don't care whether you were talking to me or you weren't, if I feel I have something to inject, I will. There, that's a lecture!! Now calm down.

The guy already had a previous history of Violence
He had a 10-year sentence on a previous assault with a weapon charge, which he didn't serve a day of because he judge overturned it
Then he fracture the kids skull and gets to walk out of the courtroom with no bond.
In what Universe does that make any sense?

Right. So without all the facts lets just run to the other side. Look this story up. I think this man has a mental issue. He was discharged from the military because of it.

Didn't see that in the report I read. Not saying it's wrong. Just said he was discharged from the military from a brain injury. Wonder why they didn't mention he had a violent past. Either way I'm sure a lawsuit will come of it. As I say, gotta keep your hands to yourself.

Right, now we know about PTSD and other brain injuries and it can make people violent. Needs to be more done to help people
