So you oppose the John Birch Society?

So then you support and promote wealth redistribution, collectivism, globalism and big government?
I support Franklin Roosevelts new deal. I support tax payer funds to educate our children. I support teaching religion at home. I support green energy. I oppose using church contributions' as a tax write off. I oppose abortion as a means of birth control and Gay pride parades. I support our neighbors in the south and oppose Narco Terrorism and the drug money fueled corruption that is created by this toothless war dog created. And I oppose the over 200 year old electoral system. We don't ride horses to work or use out houses or carrier pigeons any more.

I support FDR's New Deal. I support public schools and building them. I support public works like roads, sewers and green energy. I oppose abortion as a means of birth control. I oppose Gay parades. I have no party line, I believe in Democracy and oppose the current system. We don't ride horses to work, use outhouses and corn cobs or get news by carrier Pidgeon any more.

Yes but you did not answer why you oppose John Birch society?

We can leave the New Deal for our second debate which was the beginning of the end for the United States btw...

Guess what replaces so-called 'big-government'? For-profit prisons for one and God forbid the 'redistribitors' ever get their hands on the SSA, it would b gone in seconds.
Just shows how messed up the country is, big government is about expanding beyond its role and centralized power, not about abdicating its role.

The United States is not a single country. We are a nation of States, each with their own President, VP, Congress, and Judicial branches, and believe that States elect a President/vp, not a populus. i don't believe in a democracy, but rather, a Republic where elected leaders represent a state's or a smaller region's majority vote. I also support public schools but prefer they remain State funded and controlled. And I believe this period of Roe/Wade abortion "rights" will be remembered as an atrocity rivaling the holocaust.

You answered your own question. The JBS is against everything that got this nation on it's feet after unregulated Banking and reckless investing ruined this nation in the 20's and 30's. They are against graduated taxation and think that democracy is Socialism. I even think they would favor a bill that only allow property owners to vote and are even against Social Security. According to people I have known that are members, they think taxation is robbery.

This nation collapsed before by careless capitalism and if history repeats itself (it usually does) it will happen again. My father family migrate to California because the banks failed, the dust bowl wiped out their crops and there was no money anywhere to help them over the rough spots. They picked fruit and cotton for gas money along the way and were discriminated against and called 'Okies' when they arrived.

Dad finally got a Union job at a tuna fish cannery and remained 37 years. I can't say all the JBS members are paranoid Joe McCarthy fans but the ones I've known are.

I feel when it comes time for the Lord to the judge nations our abortion, gay rights and cults will be dealt with harshly. And that's just the parts of the iceberg we can easily see. Technology is becoming a new god and atheism rules our in our schools.

People that state "careless capitalism" do not understand economic theory.

I really think that you need to expand your reading material and free your mind of the socialism (which is communism) "is good" mantra.
You may want to start reading Thomas Sowell.

I am dedicated to social work however I am currently retired but I am planning on starting up a new Christian group that's main focus is helping Homeless mentally ill addicts. Please don't confuse my idea of helping others with socialism because I care more about the sick, the hungry and poor than the economy.

Wasn't "The Grapes of Wrath" required reading where you went to school?

I have not conflated social work or good works with social economic theory. They are two different topics, rather you seem to insist that the New Deal was the solution to the failings of a forced derailed economy.

Yes indeed, pursuing the causes and real reasons for the depression of the 30's would be helpful as well, but will you do it?

While a good writer John Steinbeck was a socialist with a biased message, which is fine as long as you read it with that knowledge.

No worries, though, the Canadian education system was far, far more rigorous then the American system for a long time, sadly I think it has followed suit now.

Socialism in this world is just another corrupt political system.
Socialism is not corrupt it is based on many faulty premises and beliefs

Why would a Christian not support universal health care?
Because of bad press funded by the for-profit big healthcare providers who have no reigns on their
business practices, maybe????

Why would a Christian not support universal health care?
For the same reason a Christian would not support a multitude of social programs. The government cannot do ANYTHING less expensively than the private sector much less nonprofit charities. It seems that most persons that support universal healthcare (just because other countries do) don't seem to comprehend that tax rates in those nations aren't just a little higher, they are phenomenally higher.

Contemplate trying to pay your bills when the government takes 50% or more of your paycheck in income taxes instead of 25-35%. Oh, by the way, most nations that offer have socialized medicine also have "value added" taxes (think of it as a federal sales tax) so now everything you are buying (with less money) costs more.
