Believing Jesus is believing the teachings of Jesus for example the beatitudes..
Trusting in the Atonement of Jesus is trusting that His Work on the cross pays the penalty for ones sins..

If one wants to be saved they need to Believe Jesus.. And Trust Jesus..

How does one know they are following the real Jesus? When one believes His teachings..

There are a lot of people out there would believe in a Jesus who is not the actual Jesus of the Holy Bible.. They want Jesus as their redeemer but they His Words..
I don’t wholly disagree with what you are saying I think you know how you feel about this subject of believing and trusting being different but IMO believing and trusting fit hand In hand believing Is on one side of the coin and trusting Is on the other side but believing Is the main thing.🙂

someone can believe one day and then not believe the next. These people are doubleminded.
But faith, that requires sticking to what you believe. To be faithful, means you are loyal, and not just you are a believer. So its encompases belief, but its actually something more. Its a gift and also a fruit of the spirit. Faithfulness.

Belief isnt actually a fruit of the spirit. Anyone can just believe anything.

I read his books when I was in college. I don’t remember a lot of it, but I remember not disagreeing with his writings. Then again, I was so single so “kissing dating goodbye” was not a problem for me lol!

I am not familiar with him but I was reading an interesting article where the writer pointed out that Harris, in his book made the promise that once you practice purity, God would reward you with a good spouse/marriage. The writer called this notion, The Sexual Prosperity Gospel. According to the writer, SPG is similar to the wealth and health prosperity gospel in that, it promises that God will bless you abundantly if you sew seed. In this case the seed is purity.

The writer points out that God did not promise health and wealth or a great marriage. And when these notions fail we turn aside from God.

Could it be that Harris feels like a failure because, after giving advice on relationships and how God will give you a great marriage, he now is getting divorced?

https://religionnews.com/2019/07/26/joshua-harris-and-the-sexual-prosperity-gospel/

But whatever happened to cause him to go astray, we just have to pray God will help him to find the right path.

Just a personal observation on this. From my experience, most (not necessarily all) persons who push an extremely legalistic lifestyle (such as Josh Harris) that end up abandoning their faith invariably were using the legalism to overcompensate for hidden sin in their life. Eventually that hidden sin shipwrecks their faith.

Rather than bring their life into full agreement with the scripture, they either try to force scripture to agree with their life or those who are more intellectually honest abandon the faith rather than continuing in their hypocrisy.

When you say the 10 Commandments of GOD or the Laws of GOD are of the "OLD covenant" what exactly are you implying?
Matthew 5:17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18 For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished.
I'm talking about GODs law In the old covenant that man could not keep.GOD IS a SPIRIT and those who worship HIM MUST worship In spirit to HIS SPIRIT and IN truth.

Never believed in OSAS.. People can and do cast away their salvation by coming to disbelieve in the Gospel...
You would only be able to judge their actions because only GOD can see their heart and the bible DOES say those who have been REborn will seek to purify themselves even as they are pure.

I have not judged anyone.. I cannot see how your response to me relates to the quote you responded too..

And please quote the scripture """those who have been REborn will seek to purify themselves even as they are pure"""

Yes i agree Jesus foreknew what judas would do and where He would end up.. Judas was doomed..

But not for blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.. That was my point..
If Jesus forgives EVERY sin committed by men, then EVERY lost person has in some sense blasphemed the Holy Spirit, or they would all be saved.

I didn’t say that to offend your person but I’m saying that anyone that says OSAS Is not true would be making that call without seeing the other person’s heart because only GOD can see and judge someone’s ne heart.

As for the scripture you wanted ,like I just said,I don’t know why you asked me that because I can’t see your heart but I could be presumptuous and say the scripture you want me to quote Is a basic scripture that should be known by a christian.

John 3:1-4
King James Version

1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

Sounds like a lodgical argument but you are not thinking right ( not being an arrogant pig towards you but i need to state what i believe).

No sin is forgiven unless one aknowledges that sin is a trangeression against God and also one trusts in the Atonement of the LORD Jesus Christ..

So any sin no matter how minor or how few will see the person condemned to the eternal lake of fire.. But we know all these sins are forgivable if one repents and accepts Jesus as their Redeemer..

But Jesus proclaimed that the particular sin of Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit Would NEVER be forgiven in this world or the next.. So while other sin can and for us are forgiven by the Atonement of Jesus.. Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit cannot be forgiven Ever..

Mark 3: KJV
28 "Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme: {29} But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation: {30} Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit."

The ones who had blasphemed the Holy Spirit where the scribes that came to Jesus and accused Him of doing His miracles by the power of an evil spirit

Mark 3: KJV
22 "¶ And the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said, He hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of the devils casteth he out devils."

The scribes had accused the Holy Spirit of being Beelzebub and thus they had blasphemed the Holy Spirit..

OSAS is a doctrine it is not a person, It has no Heart.. I am standing against and judging a doctrine not a person.. Why are you personifying the doctrine of OSAS?? Very weird to me i cannot thathom your thought process...

Good you post it in context..

Once a person has the Hope of the Atonement of the LORD Jesus in his heart by accepting the Gospel truth He has in effect purified himself by embracing the Way of salvation that Jesus secured on the cross.. You seem to be interpreting this to mean that the Man by His own personal efforts at being righteous purifies himself by succeeding in living a sinless life.. Nope...

I am saved by the Atonement of the LORD Jesus Christ which keeps me Pure in the eyes of God daily, His blood continuously covers my sin and washes it from me, In Jesus i am Deemed to be sinless before God and thus Pure.. It is the righteousness of Jesus that secures my salvation, not my own righteousness which is as filthy rags..

You are right, but it is the Holy Spirit that is convicting the world and sinners to get them to admit they are sinners in need of a Savior.
So in essence, they ARE blaspheming the Holy Spirit by rejecting that conviction.

Does the Bible say OSAS Is not true ,remember GOD Is not the author of confusion and HE Inspired men to write the Bible so ,the scriptures you might use have to harmonize with the scriptures I might use or there Is error,

So in essence, they ARE blaspheming the Holy Spirit by rejecting that conviction.
So if a young person upon hearing the Gospel initially rejects it and then 30 years later in their middle age they then come to accept the Way of salvation of Jesus, they would be wasting their time, according to you if their former rejection of the Gospel was equal to blasphemy of the Holy Spirit..

There have been many people who have resisted the Gospel message for most of their lives only to finally come to accept the truth in their older age, many on their very death bed.. Are all these people condemned for resisting the Gospel most of their lives? I believe the offer of Mercy that God is offering via the Atonement of Jesus is always on offer to us as long as we live.. Where there is still life there is still hope as far as i believe..

Now of course if someone has blasphemed the Holy Spirit according to what i believe the scriptures describe it, then then they have no hope no matter how long they live..
