When did we stop discussing the guy in the OP? That’s who I was speaking of with saying he was fortunate he didn’t end up testing a coffin.

As far as dudes post, I was in agreement with the second part, and skipped right over the first. My error in not stating that.

Plus...Am a woman here so don’t come at me like a bunch of jocks. Roger has a personal grudge. Nothing to do with guns.

Not all military weapons would fit the classification among the M16 with detachable grenade launcher. Rocket/
grenade launchers and machine guns we were trained to use, we had .38 cal. revolvers for some indoor security work and 12 gauge pump riot guns for crowd control. Neither would be classified as assault weapons. And if used for smoke, tear gas or other non lethal purposes I would question grenade launchers too.

I'm not "coming at you", I never come at people.
I'm simply trying to understand what you mean by assault weapon, and offered what I understand to be the two common competing views.

In my opinion both views fall flat. Because one would include firearms such as your little Beretta, and the other would omit a bunch of actual military weapons.

Assault weapons in my limited view as a woman, would be those I see used in wars, crime shows, and snipers. Lol. Such as THE MAN IN THE OP WHICH IS THE TOPIC. .

I have a Beretta because I was followed a year ago by a man that I noticed inside a store we were both in, who I “felt” was watching me. I also knew that he would be waiting outside and he was. He followed me most of the way home but I was praying and listening. Was told not to go home, not to pull off on any dirt roads, but to keep on open roads.

I whipped my car onto a paved road and stopped. He whipped in behind me. And I waited and prayed. Also had my 3 dogs in with me which surprised me that he would actually follow with them in, but my foxhound was just a pup then. Today he would rip a leg off for me.

Anywho, being on the open road...he finally took off. The Lord is so wise!

Ever happens again...I will wave the gun in my mirror. If I had had an assault rifle openly carried, am sure there would of been no problem being followed but if I could carry one, then all would be able to do so.

Easy war between neighbors like the McCoys? 😬

But, is just my limited view.

Scenarios such as happened to you happen far more often than people think, and that is some seriously scary stuff. I'm glad you carry for protection. I would never disarm you, or my daughter, or my wife. I have no desire to make it difficult for you to carry.
The Yahoo in the OP needs to consider what his actions do to make things more difficult on people who should be armed for protection. Which it is my opinion that every law biding citizen should be armed and ready to protect themselves and others. Not that anyone should run into a situation because they are armed, but for example: my brother stopped a carjacker from victimizing an elderly gentleman at a red light one day, by pulling his gun and yelling at the carjacker who saw the gun and ran off.

Well. since most snipers I've known prefer bolt action hunting rifles, I wouldn't call them assault rifles at all. The words Assault weapons bring me to mind of weapons designed to mow down groups of people quickly and indiscriminately.

Ok. Will make a note of that next movie I watch with a sniper used. I will be sure to inform anyone watching with me, that it’s not really an assault rife but a bolt action rifle.

I understand but I have a sword and several switchblades too. The can be used to assault to but much more up close personal and selectively. The term Assault weapons refers to the military usage which is closer to mass attack. I.E. 'Can spray a lot of lead quickly to repel or attack an enemy force of several or many'.

I have had more than one follow me and I don't think men can identify with how that makes you feel

once drove one following me by car right into the parking lot of the local Police Station...what a dunce!

he looked around, backed up and didn't stay to chat. walked in and reported it but never heard back

another time I went through a red light

big dogs are also good to show off. that's why I will always have one.

In Texas you can legally carry them. No blade regulations in Texas, lol. So you can strap your Rapier and main-gauche and head right out to Wal-Mart.

Someone with a History of Violence shouldn't be able to walk into a gun store and legally purchase any firearm

I wouldn't oppose a back ground check requirement to become licensed to own a Firearm. Make the concealed carry class a requirement for the license and carry any way we choose. Of course criminals won't and don't obey laws or carry in plain sight. Why should we be forced to open carry?

Im sorry about your step brother, but frankly, there are some people who shouldn't speak either. Matter of fact, I am pretty sure that speech accounts for much more damage than bullets. I think one could prove that abusive speech, belittling spech, divisive speech, admonishing, criticizing speech et al can all lead to anger, isolation, victimization, depression and resulting hatred and violence. Yet no one is suggesting that one must have special permission and pay a fee and hold a "concealed feelings" permit and carry the right kind of wording in order to enjoy that constitutional right.

Frankly, I think these gun control tactics is a lot like fighting cancer with morphine. No one is addressing the right problems.

Being in possession of a firearm and a controlled substance is a felony. In some states it carries a mandatory 10 year no parole day for day sentence.
