This thread, if not properly used, can be a double-edged sword.
If unconfirmed dreams end up being passed off as prophetic & don't come to pass, christians will be filled with unbelief that there are no dreams from the Lord anymore.
If mockers continue to mock, it will set a standard that it's ok to mock false prophets, which it isn't. Not to mention there may be those with true dreams that become mocked as well.
I am giving this warning as a brother & friend to both sides.
To the mockers:
Acts 5:38-39 (KJV) [SUP]38 [/SUP]And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought: [SUP]39 [/SUP]But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.
Acts 23:9 (KJV) [SUP]9 [/SUP]And there arose a great cry: and the scribes that were of the Pharisees' part arose, and strove, saying, We find no evil in this man: but if a spirit or an angel hath spoken to him, let us not fight against God.
To those who believe in dreams without confirmation:
1 John 4:1-3 (KJV) [SUP]1 [/SUP]Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. [SUP]2 [/SUP]Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: [SUP]3 [/SUP]And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
Matthew 24:24 (KJV) [SUP]24 [/SUP]For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
To both:
Jeremiah 5:30-31 (KJV) [SUP]30 [/SUP]A wonderful and horrible thing is committed in the land; [SUP]31 [/SUP]The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?
