You are funny. :D
I mean that in the best possible way!!

Yes I am indeed a poor innocent waif who never saw or lived through the 70's, 80's or 90's.... was uninformed of the world around me and had no access to the outside world, sheltered and bereft of any real connection to the politics of those days.

Left and right were just different sides of my body, ohh those were the days!!

Where indeed were those conservative voices, there was no print, no radio, no tv, no platform at all for the religious right and/or conservatives to make their views known to the world at large only the Rinos ruled the air waves!!!

;)
What in the world is the opposing choice to a "conservative".

Please mollify my stygian ignorance.

Maybe that’s our problem? We’re not familiar with the atrocities going on in the rest of the country. To be honest I’ve never heard of drag queen story hour unless back when we were clearing out real shady places shy of both a liquor license and fire escapes.😂

Yep I admit that if someone ask me about politicians from another state I don't much about them so I bet many from other states don't know or follow whats going on in Texas. Have you followed any of the Tim Dunn/Farris Wilks articles/information? They from what I see have gained enough power to where they openly tell the politicians to vote as told or they will run someone against them and put them out of office. They have a news page called Texas Scorecard and also keep a scorecard on our Texas politicians https://texasscorecard.com/ A politician who scores 80-100 means they obeyed them, 60 or below means they didn't do what they said and are being replaced by another Republican.

So...if elected representatives aren't voting the way that those who elected them want them to vote, should they keep electing them?

Do you really want to promote the bogus cases against Trump? This is all political "lawfare". This judge should have been impeached a long time ago.

The judge was a moron. I heard a judge say they believe it will be over turned on appeal. As far as woman saying he went after her, she's outright crazy. Listen to her interviews she's out of her mind.

As someone outside the US, I see him (Trump) as a liar, misogynist, adulterer, totally corrupted by love of power and a person who has total contempt for the laws in the US and it's judicial system!

And US Christians still want him as their President!

LOL!

Whats the dif, as we use to say back in the day. Say all the same things about Biden. So which do you vote for? Someone brought up Clinton and we were told what he did with women was his own business and didn't have anything to do with how he could run the country. So the same goes for everyone else. One is no different than the other if you're gonna compare. You have two to vote from, you pick the one closest to your beliefs.

First if only 7,990,755 people in Texas are all that bothered to even vote in the last Governors race out of 29.53 million people(population of Texas) then it doesn't seem as if most even think their vote counts. In the last race it was 4437099 for Abbott and 3553656 O'Rourke so Abbott only won by 883,447 votes https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2022_Texas_gubernatorial_election

If you look at the 2020 presidential race it was decided by 631,221 votes(notice how close it came to flipping blue?),,but 11,149,473 voted for POTUS that year out of 29.5 million people. Anyway the infighting among Republicans are killing those 38-39 electoral votes and may very well flip Texas to blue if it keeps up. https://www.politico.com/2020-election/results/texas/

Tragic. The "bug-out" states are getting rarer than hens teeth nowadays.

Oh well. America was a nice place at one time.

The problem with Texas isn't the infighting but organization. Texas is easily still a red state. Democrats are very organized and know how to bank their votes. Republicans are slow to change their voting practices. Where Republicans have started legal ballot harvesting measures, they have been successful. But this is largely being done in blue states. Republicans have picked up seats in New York and California, but lost others in red states.
Georgia is a great case in point. Georgia is still a conservative state. The governor won by 8 percentage points. Why do they have 2 Democrat senators?
There was an expected red wave in 2022. Why didn't it materialize? If you look closely at individual races, there were at least 20 house seats that were won by less than 2,000 votes. Many were within 500 votes. Had Republicans been more diligent, the red wave would have materialized.
If Republicans expect to win, they had better learn to play by all the rules.

No, wrong! The "other party" supports the right of people to 1) determine their own medical care, not the government, 2) treat all people equally under the law, including freedom of speech, and 3) a fair immigration system. (BTW, are you a Native American? If not, you and your family are immigrants.

The other party lies and states that abortion is health care, it is not, it is the ending of a human life with a human right to life
The other party persecutes Catholics for speaking against abortion, they are denied free speech
The USA is now recognized as a sovereign nation something that it did not have in the early 1700's so the other party "Democrats" support illegal, non-vetted entry into a sovereign nation

This is not at all connected to the line of conversation I was having with @Cameron143, but then who knows maybe I am missing something...... seems to me we were conversing on the media./religious right/ Conservatives during the Bill Clinton era. :geek:
Tangential yet relevant. And poignant to our time and present dilemma.

The problem is that the justice system has been perverted from top to bottom. Will the appeals court give Trump a fair hearing? That case with the crazy woman should have been dismissed outright. Instead Trump has to deal with this nonsense. We can't even trust the Supreme Court any longer.
