There is a lot of hypocrisy and rules for thee but not for me. How is it that people who voted for Trump are members of a cult but people who voted for Biden aren't? With what judgement they judge they shall be judged.

While your statement is accurate, it's sometimes true of me, too. I just tell people I'm choosing the lesser of 2 cults.
Opinions are never wrong. They accurately reflect belief. But they are often formed from erroneous facts and personal experience. You do an excellent job of presenting information for people to consider. But it's impossible to separate people from their emotions. And emotions are void of reason.

Trump said he could shoot someone and not lose supporters. That pretty much sums up how his supporters have abandoned reason and ethics in their blind devotion to him.

It's not that simple. it is true that some of them are simply in a personality cult but there are many people with different reasons they support him including some or all of the following:

1. Racial resentment (They'll deny this to their grave).
2. Hatred of "liberals" (how they define a liberal will vary depending on how right wing said person is).
3. Cultural resentment (They want the country to go back to a fictional 1950's version that never existed in the first place)
4. Hatred of Washington (Honestly, who can blame them)
5. Pride. (They voted for the guy and he turned out to be the first class screw up everyone said he would, but they'd rather burn the house down then admit they were wrong)
6. Religious authoritarianism. (They want to force the rest of the country to live according to their "Christian" values whether they want it or not)

For them Donald Trump is their weapon, and they know full well who he really is.

Former Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) special agent Charles McGonigal has been sentenced to over four years in prison. The U.S. District Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York said he had been supplying information to a Russian oligarch.

Trudeau is a disgrace to Canada. The only thing he has going for him is the Trudeau name. Why would you say that is overlooked by me? I am very much aware of that comment, I thought his insult to the gold star family was even more significant. I didn't vote for Trump in 2016. But the McCain comment was a good example of why I say Trump is comparable to the jawbone of an ass.

That said, I don't like McCain. A McCain republican is a RINO. Also I think it is pathetic that someone walks around their whole life wearing the fact that they were a POW as some kind of badge of honor. I don't see it as a disgrace or an honor. You were in the army and became a prisoner. OK, let's leave it at that.

Politics is like getting into the boxing ring, and presidential politics is heavyweight boxing. So what, you can't hit McCain because he was once a POW? That is the wimpiest thing I heard.
