Good news for everyone concerned the insurance companies might lose money in this fire.

State Farm said to have canceled 70% of Palisades policies before fire | NewsNation Now

And there is more. Yes the insurance companies will not have to pay, but don't worry the tax payers will.

Good news and bad news concerning the fires.

Good news -- a huge number of volunteers have come to California to help them with everything involved in battling these fires.

Bad news -- the water has been turned off. So, there is that.

An area bigger than the city of Paris France has burned. Paris has a population of 2 million people. I can't say how many lives will be impacted directly by this fire but 2 million might be a reasonable estimate. You have those who lose their homes and jobs, and you also have those who did not lose their homes or businesses in this area but the power is turned off and the water is no longer safe to drink. It is difficult to live in an area without power, water, or all the other residents.

There are those pushing a narrative that the city and state government is to blame and they provide a lot of factual evidence concerning things that could have been done better.

There are others telling you no one is to blame. That is not very reassuring to tell people that on any given day a city the size of Paris can burn down and nothing we can do about it. You wonder why we pay for their salaries if that is the case. Wouldn't have been better for each community to simply hire a full time guy to trim trees and remove brush?

Then there are those who say don't blame us, if you are going to blame anyone blame people who use fossil fuel, which is everyone. But lets suppose for the sake of argument that they are right. That means that every single place on this planet is already impacted. So ignore the fact that Los Angeles uses much more water than falls on them. I used to live in the desert and the city required that you have native species and so people didn't have lawns, they had cactus, rocks and other native species. You did not water your lawn, you planted plants that could survive the environment. That is simply one possible regulation, there are many, many more that you could impose that do not cost anything, make perfect sense, and prevent a city the size of Paris burning down in a week.

I have lived in several places that has high winds similar to LA, and yet they didn't have horrific fires. I have lived in places that were drier than LA and they didn't have horrific fires. I feel no matter how you cut this, it is due to bad governance.

Makes you wonder what all the taxes for the most heavily taxed state has been paying for.

We have more good news and bad news!

Good News -- Gavin Newsom has activated the National Guard. This is excellent, they can help keep law and order, run the tent cities, prevent looting while helping with evacuation and care for those who have lost homes.

Bad News -- However the National guard has still not been deployed. So there is that.

2 Chronicles 7:13 If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people; 14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Jeremiah 14:22 Do any of the worthless idols of the nations bring rain? Do the skies themselves send down showers? No, it is you, LORD our God. Therefore our hope is in you, for you are the one who does all this.

1Kings 8:35 “When the heavens are shut up and there is no rain because your people have sinned against you, and when they pray toward this place and give praise to your name and turn from their sin because you have afflicted them, 36 then hear from heaven and forgive the sin of your servants, your people Israel. Teach them the right way to live, and send rain on the land you gave your people for an inheritance.

As usual Democrats in California are saying the reason their response to this fire is so inept is because people are not paying their fair share of taxes.

L.A. Water Chief Knew Fire Hydrants Were Broken, Yet Earns Nearly $800K Annually

You see, if he was making $1 million a year he would be able to do his job, but with only $800K he is too distracted on how to pay for his new yacht.

Wow, they are now predicting $250 billion in damages. Please note, every disaster I have ever studied, the dollar amount on the damage estimate is always half or less of what it winds up being.

Praise God, for migrant workers from Mexico!!! View attachment 272053
What a disingenuous, misleading post.

Designed to malign the President, and his 77 million voters, that somehow we are against immigrants, against Hispanics., and against Mexicans.

NOTHING can be further than the truth.

We are against ILLEGAL, aliens from breaking the LAW OF THE LAND, the second they criminally cross our border.

I honestly don't care if a million a year come here through the LEGAL process.

Tamarisk, starting in 6 days YOUR President is going to fix this massive problem!
