I'm 65 and I am out there working as my job is considered essential. I don't think the government should be subsidizing anyone. In reality, it is the hard working taxpayer that is paying for these subsidies.
........and, I truly appreciate your sacrifice! :) Hey, SOMEONE has to fund my retirement!

what most people don't know about this vid, is the 'fact' that thousands of dollars
are to be made off of certain 'sea-shells'...

Now with data coming out of NYC, California and other places by researchers at esteemed colleges and universities like Stanford, USC and Oxford among others...that the overall mortality rate is less than 0.5% and possibly as low as 0.1% which would put it on par with the seasonal flu at the low end.
That Stanford study that right wing media made a great deal of a week ago has come under a significant amount of criticism for the methods used (starting with trying to recruit participants with ads on Facebook).

This is not the flu. Facts we know: The observed mortality remains above 5%. Antibody testing has shown that only 13.9% of people in New York City have been exposed to the virus. Given the dense population there which always results in the rapid spread of infectious disease, the percentage in the rest of the country is going to be much lower. These are facts, not models or speculation.

The situation we are in right now is similar to catching glimpses of a pack of wolves through the trees as the run along side you in the forest. The attack has not yet begun. Unfortunately some insist on saying “cute puppies!” When faced with the threat.

Probably so, I didn’t know just how important sea shells are to the beaches, they provide shelter, food and homes for many animals, it’s a important part of beach ecosystems. removing them does have a impact on beach erosion and nature on the beach. it gives a whole new understanding on the pristine clean beach, in that it’s not a natural thing but man made.

that 13.9% of 3000 tested for anti bodies equals to around 3 million in the state of NY with anti bodies who have had it, that isn’t confirmed yet but no doubt they where surprise with such a large percentage in 3000 tested. that is probably why the government is now looking into past deaths in December of last year.

the average I’ve read world wide including the U.S. is at 2%. with the unknown who have had it already it’s more likely at 0.5%

Yes, but that’s the wrong way to be looking at this.

Given the population density of New York, it means that nationwide some 86% of the population hasn’t been exposed in a best case scenario and we‘re still approaching 60,000 dead.

the percentage you mentioned was out of 3000 tested at various places across the state, so if that was applied nationwide, that would be 49 million have already been exposed to the virus and have antibodies already.

Georgia is the next state vamping up antibody testing,

that 86% you mentioned is not what the findings is saying, because the 13.9% was out of 3000 people not the whole state, every person in the state of NY was not tested.

The story about the Huanan Seafood Market was CHINESE DISINFORMATION. We now know that the virus escaped from the Wuhan Lab. But you are correct in that China knew about this virus long before that (probably from September). Indeed they applied for a patent for a vaccine (reverse engineered, but that's another story) the day after President Xi made his announcement. And Fauci knew about this virus even earlier, since he provided 3.7 million dollars to that lab for research on coronavirus.
Francis Collins is the current director of NIH. According to Collins: ""We have a responsibility to ensure that research with infectious agents is conducted responsibly, and that we consider the potential biosafety and biosecurity risks associated with such research," said Francis Collins, director of the National Institutes of Health, in a statement." It looks to me like he failed to do his job. Congress, the Senate & the president believed that he was going his job and gave him $42 billion dollars. As you say the Wuhan INstitute of Virology got $3.7 million of that for their research on the Coronavirus as they worked to make it more dangerous and easier to spread from person to person. I think Collins should be called before congress to give an account of what he did. This is tiny amount of money in a $1.3 trillion dollar budget. Yet there are already 200,000 people dead because of this.

This announcement was made on January 30, 2020
The virus began on Dec 30 2019. There were only 8 people infected and it would have been very easy to contain the virus then at that time. China did not do that even though there were fully aware of how dangerous this virus is. The doctors were fully trained on how to spot this virus and they knew exactly who they were to notify. The "bat women" was at a conference in Shanghai and she received an emergency call from the director at the Wuhan Institute of Virology to drop whatever she is doing and go back to Wuhan do deal with this virus. She took the next train and she says she was worried that her virus had escaped from the lab.

You need radomized sampling, if you don't like Facebook as a recruitment tool what would you suggest....science isn't about a vote, its about evidence.

As for infection rates, they've done testing on people who've had a confirmed case of the virus and found no antibodies....so equating an absence of antibodies as an indicator that people haven't been infected is obviously flawed.

Nobody is calling coronavirus "cute puppies", but your wolf analogy is pretty apt...overwhelmingly its attacking the old and weak, which is what wolf hunting a herd of caribou do....

We're sacrificing way too much for very little benefit in my opinion....freedom of assembly, gone, freedom to practise religion in the manner you desire, gone.....we've got brown shirted snitch lines now.....is freedom of speech next? Some would proably applaud it....this isn't the first attack on basic rights and liberties in history sadly, and too often it doesn't end well.

If you're scared....okay, be scared....lock yourself in your house and don't come out until a vaccine is available.....have your grocercies delivered and wipe packaging and contacts down with lysol if you want.....

yep, people seem only to care about themselves its showing how selfish people can be. Jesus says for us to love our neighbours..and the way to love is to show compassion and kindness.

there has been deaths in nursing homes near where I live. Hospital staff are rightly concerned...if there are not enough hosptials to take people, field hosptials will need to be set up otherwise you have people dying in the streets. the lockdown measures are to PREVENT huge numbers of people dying, because if more people die, well you wont even have an economy anyway.
Death is a part of life, and this coronavirus is turning into the mouse that roared....that's a little unfair, its not a mouse....but its not a ravaging lion either. A response needs to be proportionate to the threat....and take away the "fear porn" media with their hyperbolic headlines, and its not nearly the catastrophen its being portrayed to be. Heck, over 1 million people die every year in traffic fatalities accross the globe, 1.25 million in 2013 alone according to the WHO.....

This isn't the appocolypse, and that's a word that journlaists are using.
