Or maybe this classifies as decent core.

Dropping on the 14th....

Bleh. bleh bleh
Too much melodic breakdown in the new Gideon for you then? I know you were never a Hope for the Dying fan so no surprises there i suppose, although open up the sky is a pretty awesome track both lyrically and range wise.

I suppose I'm going to have to go with a different genre.

I'm still going to be back with more core at some point :p.

I've heard Gideon before. Didn't bother listening again. Just more core that doesn't stand out to me.

Some of the good metalcore i've heard is..
The first Betraying The Martyrs album. After that they changed vocalists who changed the lyrics into trash.
A Plea For Purging
The Order Of Elijah
Sleeping Giant
Saving Grace ... kind of started more metalcore and then went more hardcore but seems to be edging back to metalcore. their HC stuff was better.
Spitfire (old)
Still Breathing
Symphony In Peril
old Zao
the original 2 Underoath albums, before they went commercial
Winter Solstice (old)
Wrench In The Works
the first few AILD albums
Bleeding Through (secular)
Fasedown (coreish metal)
Demon Hunter, of course
Killswitch Engage End of Heartache (one of the best MC albums ever, which, ironically i also blame for ruining metalcore as a whole)

There are a few others who are ok, but if i decide to listen to metalcore it's likely one of these bands.

Haha, I know.

You're picky about core like I'm picky about death. If it strikes my fancy, I take a shine to it immediately, but otherwise it sounds sameish to me.

First single taken from the third album.
This song does not aim to denigrate Darkthrone, but to captures their biting sarcasm and uses it as a manifestation of Azazel's hate about the stupid attitude of those that exalt the Satanism as a mere form of rebellion, without understanding what this really entails. In this sense, also the single's cover is decidedly eloquent...

(Azazel is the artist behind this band)

Love it..kind of reminds me of Lamb of God for some reason.
I don't like Lamb of God. Hahaha
Though, I've only heard a few songs here and there and watched one of their dvd's and they just don't appeal to me.

Veni Domine 1987-2014

With a heavy heart we bring you the news that we decided to put the band to sleep, it is no longer.

27 years that holds and keeps the full spectra of every emotion imaginable, not without sadness we left the table with the desicion unthinkeble but yet unineviteble.

Time caught up with us and at the end of the day we found that trying keeping a band at a high level with all including parts is a task too timeconsuming to handle. On the horizon we saw it coming. Even though we steared clear of the horizon on many occasions the horizon moved closer, faster than expected this time.

We left the table with a sense of mutual respect, the brotherhood and friendship will live on.

Being labeled a Christian band we fought the preconceptions on many fronts and we feel fortunate to have gained friends all over the world, including all kinds of different world views excluding no one.

Our love and respect to all our friends who stood by us during the years, our families who took the downside of the business, all of you who bought the music, responded and comunicated back to us, we shared this journey that ends today.

We leave with the legacy of seven albums, there´s a lot to say about that but one must not linger in the past, tomorrow must not be bound by yesterdays, life will move on.

The future holds no promises other than that all is possible. Branching out from here, The redstone project, Grand stand and Nubian Rose, keep track of those and we will meet again.

Respectfully,

Torbjörn and Veni Domine
