Most Pastors are not trained for dealing with the situation.
This is merely a presumption:
This isn't evidenced by anything factual.

Nothing but presumption.

Those at Shelter's have the experience and resources to send one in the right directions.
This is merely a presumption....

All we really know about any particular shelter is that it "does stuff." I seriously doubt everyone is in agreement about HOW WELL any particular shelter does any particular thing... especially when we're talking about ALL shelters everywhere.

Nothing but presumption.

Concerning the Shelters you my friend have no idea what you are talking about.
This is merely a presumption...
You don't know me, and you don't know my background.

Nothing but presumption.

In the hundreds Women I have counselled where drunkenness was involved there was always physical abuse.
This implies a conclusion which is based on another presumption...
Anecdotal evidence about SOME situations cannot lead to a logical proof for ALL situations.
This is just bad logic.
SOME does not ever, ever, ever, imply ALL.

Nothing but presumption.

"Research shows that the men most likely to abuse their wives are evangelical Christians who attend church sporadically*. Church leaders in Australia say they abhor abuse of any kind. But advocates say the church is not just failing to sufficiently address domestic violence, it is both enabling and concealing it. " https://www.abc.net.au/news/2017-07-18/domestic-violence-church-submit-to-husbands/8652028
This implies another presumptive conclusion...
the best one yet.
1.) Your research was so poor that you actually quoted a HEADLINE which is just a FAKE CLICKBAIT HEADLINE.
The headline IS NOT EVEN SUPPORTED BY THE INFORMATION BELOW IT IN THE ARTICLE... which would lead us to believe you never even read the article. The headline you quoted is incorrect, and is not supported, AT ALL, by the information in the article. You quoted a sensationalistic headline, that is pure nonsense, and supported by nothing.

2.) In the article you linked I found ZERO actual research studies cited... I only found studies mentioned sort of vaguely, without any citations or links so we can verify them. The article you linked as "proof" had a bunch of NOTHING. Not actual research studies cited.

3.) The article you linked, which had ZERO studies actually cited, and which was clearly deriding Christianity, was ALSO on a site which is known to be LEFT LEANING, and AGAINST TRADITIONAL CHRISTIAN VALUES.... thus it is very likely to be biased right out of the box.

4.) CONCLUSION:
You posted a bunch of EMOTIONALISM, NOTHINGNESS, and PRESUMPTION as your argurments, then you quoted a fake clickbait headline to support your claims, and overall you failed to given even one shred of evidence for anything you said.
NOTHING.

Nothing but presumption.

Proverbs 28:26 It is foolish to be too confident. Those who ask for advice are wise and will escape disaster.

The wise in this case are those running the shelters.

"I have been the victim of physical abuse. I know what it is to have someone you love use size and strength to hurt you repeatedly. I know what it is to run through snow in bare feet to flee violence. I have heard the sound of gunshots from my mother’s gun, which were intended for me. It is a terrorizing feeling to return home from school day, after day, after day, and not know whether your mom is drunk and you’re in trouble, or whether she is gone and you’re fine—for a few hours. I would never want anyone to spend two seconds in the kind of fearful hell that I dwelt in for a decade. " https://biblicalcounseling.com/abuse/

For my detailed critique, see the red lettering in your post above.

Overall:

You made one presumption after another, and then you topped it off by quoting a fake, clickbait headline.

Yes, you actually quoted an inflammatory, sensationalistic headline that is not even supported by the article below it... it was a fake, clickbait headline.

Good Grief.

I apologize if my previous post was too emotional or argumentative.

But when someone implies that pastors are essentially just a waste of time, and shouldn't even be consulted as a "starting point" when we have quite commonplace family problems... then yeah... we're going to have some problems.

Those aren't biblical views.

You can't judge people based on biased statistics. It is not because you are an alcoholic that you are a criminal ! I know many alcoholic people who drink heavily and still are good persons. Similarly, the OP made it clear that her husband is not a violent person or something bad. He is not perfect and some issues have to be address but this is life ...
I am not judging, just going with the facts and likelihood of the stats and experience of counseling hundreds of women.

Scripture clearly tells us to get advice from those in the know. Those are usually Pastors who work with Women's Shelters.
