Do not let yourself carry any blame, guilt or think you could have did anything .. Be strong for your mom. I'm so sorry for your pain and pray you can find comfort in prayer to heal your situation and mindset .. We all reap what we sow , your dad , your mom , ourselves so try to move on, pray and seek peace that will come if you let it .. Always live in hope and we all face hard times , you are not alone and millions of homes are broken these days .. God Bless and please move closer to Jesus , it's His business to be there for us always ..
Thank you for your encouragement. I am staying strong for my mom, and I am not putting blame on myself as I know it had nothing to do with me.
I will move closer to Jesus in this time, and I will remember that there is hope, and I will remember that this short time of suffering will be nothing compared to the glory he will give us later if we truly cling to him and let nothing separate us from his love.
God bless you too!

Yes, this is not good. Did your dad tend to carry the weight of all the problems that crop up, DorotheaSofia? Did he try to figure out all of life's problems on his own?
Praying for your family DorotheaSofia. So sad ...
Thanks for your prayer, I really appreciate it. He really does try to figure everything out on his own and is not ready to work on problems. So I would especially be grateful if you would pray that his heart would be softened so that solutions can be found-if he does not cooperate, little to nothing can be done...
God bless.

Father God this is an unhealthy way of coping, please help this family to rethink their way of doing things, and help them to want and find a better way, do not allow them to take what appears to be the easy way out, but to dig down and do the work that is necessary to bring peace ane well being, in Jesus name, amen.
Thanks very much for your uplifting prayer!

But on a serious note, when people go through divorce, they need support, I should know, my parents divorced when I was in the 7th grade, and it has tremendously effected my life. I wish I wanted to die in the 9th grade, and in college, got on antidepressants (I’m back on them due to this COVID stuff), therapy (Back on that too, can’t be on antidepressants without therapy), and just learn what is appropriate.
but now, I can see all of the positives God gave me from this divorce and how he has soften my heart. I will firmly stand in my opinions, but I think having a soft and understanding heart is very important for Christians to have. Don’t show hate, show kindness and trying to understand, to better teach people about God. Respect each other, and if they want to live life their way, then so be it.
And to the OP, I can’t even imagine the pain you are going through, my Dad has always loved me and always tells me how much his kids matter to him. All I can do is keep you in my thoughts when I remember to pray (I struggle with laziness sometimes, trying to figure out my prayer life), I hope your situation gets better.
First of all- I´ll pray for you, your prayerlife and depressions. I´m glad we can all support each other.
Secondly, I do not think my parents will get a divorce to be honest, even though this is what most people in this thread have assumed. This is not the first time troubles have come up, and I suppose they will just be shoved under the rug and the play will go on, as always. Still I will keep in mind that God will bring good out of this situation. So thanks for that reminder.
Thirdly, thanks for your understanding, advice and prayers. God bless!

The relationship between husband and wife is so special. In times of trouble (problems), both husband and wife work together to work out the issue.

The reason I asked if your dad tended to carry the weight of all the problems that crop up or if he tried to figure out all of life's problems on his own was because of a statement you made that problems are kind of buried and never talked about.

We all know from Scripture that, in this life, there will always be times where we face problems and times where we are relatively free from problems. This is true whether we are married or not married. And whether we face times of trouble or time of no trouble, we hold close to God, turn to Him. He helps us through the rough patches and in the not so rough patches, He brings fullness of joy to our lives.

In the marriage relationship, both husband and wife turn to God, and stand firmly together, steadfast in faith. The standing together in faith is such a blessing in the marriage relationship. When facing life's problems, as husband and wife stand together, where one is weak, the other helps. And once the problem has been faced and dealt with together, the relationship between husband and wife becomes stronger.

There is no shame in needing each other to get through life's problems together. Our relationships with each other grow stronger as we help each other through. This is true in the body of Christ among people who are not married to each other. It is especially true in the marriage relationship ... where wife needs husband to help her and where husband needs wife to help him.

How much closer do we become with others when we help them ... or they help us? There is a bond that develops and grows stronger over time.

Praying for your dad and mom and your family.

I wanted to tell you that he has come back.
However, he behaves as if nothing had happened. Please pray that my parents would be able to resolve their struggles and not longer disregard them. Please pray that my father would learn that leaving is not a good idea but rather hurtful. Please pray for peace in our home.
If you have any advice as to how I should handle this stuation, I really appreciate it.
God bless.

"Your words have been heard. Thank you for being you, and sharing a heartache that
is unsettling for any family. Knowing and keeping God in your life will be your greatest asset...believe it.

Cause and effect are never separated...often this requires a serious 'inventory' of circumstances
surrounding...people, places and things that bring cause of turmoil, great or small...pertaining
to ones own personal family. I have learned from experience, in the past two plus decades, since
I turned my life over to God's care...revelations, that on my own, never thought of as important.
First marriage..
.material things, selfishness and lust brought about jealousy and resentment....marriage ended!
By the grace of God, a precious gift, my wife of forty eight years coming to be...I am truly thankful....Praise God.
Acting upon... willing to change, being a profound necessity that I feel is of utmost importance... truth be
known...essential
. Forgiveness and acceptance are essential! And, a bond of love that endures life's up's and down's!
And, I have personally experienced a profound spiritual 'awareness', that has brought about a peace, understanding
and a change in my attitude and behavior, that enhanced our family, overall!.........'Praise God'
I pray of God's 'presence' to be close by with you and your family, in all your coming and going."
( just my thoughts...'this side of the glass' ).........:)

I hate that for you.
He has a cell phone I'm sure. Maybe this is an idea you can use. Pray get your thoughts together, write out the facts, and your feelings and prepare to hear his story, and call him. Asked for a meeting at a public place like a restaurant or park. Ask to hear his story, and then tell him yours. It will be hard but come from strength, God will give you the strength you need.

Hi I am glad your dad has returned home and is well.Your parents have to make the choices here because they are the adults that are gonna have to decide what they are gonna do...but it would be great if you did get a chance to let ur dad know how you feel and how he has hurt you..I have a feeling that your mum would be more than willing to talk thing through with him.but you dad seem emotionally distant and seems unable to face and with through things and take on emotional responsibility....Adam did the sane thing in the bible..when God asked him what happened...rather that take responsibility for what happened he blamed even and God...this I often called the sin of omission wher its not about what one did..it's more about what one didnt do...
Yet there is always hope..always hope because of God..Men are like foundation stones in which a family is built...they are like doorways in the family that can let things come in..or let things come out..and everything hangs on ur dad...if he changes...EVERYTHING CHANGES..
I will pray for sure and you at kinda stuck between two adults..cant be easy for you.I assume your mum doesnt have much influence of reasoning with him to get him to change.?
God is a father and we are his children..God knows what you are going through and God will make a way for you dad to come to his senses and man up emotionally.Gods nor done with him yet.
Many men struggle with things as men and would rather run away from facing certain realities and cant even really see the pain they are causing.
Yes if you can talk with him ect it would be nice...I pray God will create the necessary circumstances to break through his stubborn pride with is rooted in fear which is coming from an inability to open up emotionally and take responsibility for working through issues to make a change..
look what happened to saul..who then became Paul...God knows how to deal with men..🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

I have always had a quite good relationship with my dad and that´s why i am scared to bring this up to him. So thank you for praying for an opportunity for that.
My parents have had a serious conversation by now in which they discussed a lot of problems and it did not bring forth any changes at all.
I really am stuck between what they do and don´t have much chances to make anything much better.
Thank you for your encouraging words about how God is so powerful and is able to soften my dad´s heart just as in Paul/Saul.
God bless
