They have to abduct the victims first, of course. Then it's considered within that which "all their right hand obtains' and is theirs to do with as they like.
To me, it sounds like that guy was in ISIS or the Taliban or something.

Idk, I didn't look into his background, but he didn't sound like he'd ever bought all into it at any time. However, I might be said that his heel may might've been bitten by it, figuratively of course, but he's effectively crushing its' head, currently.

Take a look at what else is "just part of their culture". Just because things are part of a culture doesn't make it not-sin.
So what is the proper amount of clothes to wear so that one isnt in sin?

And other places where clothing has nothimg to do with it at all
Apparently, the post-fall garden of Eden was not one of those places. Maybe some places were exempted from the Adamic curse.

Genesis 3:7
“And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.”

So if we wear aprons made of leaves; thats enough clothes to be a christian?

I think that verse dont support wearing clothes at all. So they were naked before sin, and made clothes in their sin. So christians shouldnt wear clothes because it reflects the fallen state.

Personally I feel you would be remiss if you didn't accessorize with matching toque and a bedazzled rolling pin, but to each his own.

A lot of western women walk around just looking trashy... a bag would be an improvement.

That's true, but it's not un-pragmatic to wear clothes in hot weather; and at least they acknowledge that immodesty is sin... and self-control is not part of the fallen man.

Take a look at what else is "just part of their culture". Just because things are part of a culture doesn't make it not-sin.

As I have already mentioned in this thread, if someone is in extreme poverty and can't obtain or maintain clothes- it's a different story.
Namibia was ranked #2 in the world for their skin cancer death rate, but apparently the Himba avoid this by applying some compound to their skin... that seems pretty smart; but, even if they are poor and adaptive, the fact that Himba men share their wives with other men demonstrates that they have a shameless culture; which is the opposite of what actual modesty is. If poverty is not a factor, Christians will wear clothes- and you can see other Bantu ethnic groups in Namibia that wear clothes.
You're entitled to your opinion on what the handle ladies are wearing or not wearing but they are also entitled to their own opinion on what is socially acceptable because that's their culture

Yes, they are. They can choose to go their way or God's way. God has given us His Word. God has made it clear about what is modest and what is not, but you can do your own thing. Just do us a favor and don't pretend to be a disciple of Christ.

Ok then, what is modest?
Every one wants to use that term but no one defines it.

Pretentious much? All I'm saying is everyone has a right to follow their own culture and you can't force your beliefs on anyone

Your argument is with God's Word, not Oyster. Try to tell Him He can't enforce His "beliefs".

1 Corinthians 6:19
“What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?”

Jesus himself said if someone doesn't want to hear you, you walk away and wipe the dust from your feet. That means you don't force your beliefs on people

I know people have different understandings and may not agree with my convictions or understanding of Scripture. But I'll share them anyway for anyone who wants to listen.
My guideline verses:

1 Timothy 2:9 & 1 Peter 3:3&4 about modesty and not wearing costly or extravagant clothes/decorations

Deuteronomy 22:5 The woman shall not wear that which pertains to a man. This is where many don't agree, and they will bring up culture and what men and women wore at the time it was written, etc. How I see it is there was always a distinction. And I look into history and where pants-wearing began for women. It began as practicality because the women were trying to compensate for the men being at war and they were doing their factory jobs and such. Then there was women's suffrage where they wanted equal rights, and pants-wearing for many was a sign of (I'm gonna step on some toes here) rebellion.

(Of course, I'm not judging anyone's heart here because of what you may or may not wear, so there's no reason to be offended.)

Here's another scripture that gives us a glimpse into God's view of modesty: "Come down, and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon. . .uncover thy locks, make bare the leg, uncover the thigh, pass over the rivers. Thy nakedness shall be uncovered, yea, thy shame shall be seen. . ."

My family used to dress VERY conservatively, similar to the Amish. but in the last few years things have changed and we've realized it's not necessary to dress quite like that to please God and not cause anyone to stumble.

I truly believe if each of us really seek God with an open heart, He will show us how He wants us to dress. And another thing I wanna say, you can "look the part" and be completely "modest" the outside, but your heart be far from modest.

Are you asking me to wipe your dust off my feet Dude?
The verse is not about forcing our beliefs. The verse is about telling people the Truth (which they do not like to hear).

This is a good answer and i appreciate the honesty and the openess.
Your last statement says it all.
My thoughts are, in terms of modesty keep a keen eye on yourself let God deal with others. If they love God he will deal them. If they dont, theu dont care what anyone else says either, and they arent our business.

Where is that in scripture
I hope you are not claiming to be ignorant of what the Word says about nakedness.

Genesis 3:10
“And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.”

Genesis 3:21
“Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.”

Exodus 28:42
“And thou shalt make them linen breeches to cover their nakedness; from the loins even unto the thighs they shall reach:”

1 Timothy 2:9
“In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;”

Genesis 9:23
“And Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it upon both their shoulders, and went backward, and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, and they saw not their father's nakedness.”

Exodus 20:26
“Neither shalt thou go up by steps unto mine altar, that thy nakedness be not discovered thereon.”

I am all for it, but it gets hotter than the surface of the sun in summer here too.
