Yeah I'm not going to ruin the story posting the result first lol
Ok so a while back I sent a lawyer a money order for $375 for a retainer, and it sat in his office while he had covid.
So finally he contacts me and decides to return the money order,. But by the time I get it back it's past the deadline for the store to issue a refund.
So March 3 I call Canada Post and they issue a refund cheque and tells me it would take about 10 days,. Day 11 rolls around and I call because it still had not shown up.
Canada Post issues another money order, turns out the first agent put the wrong apartment number,. So March 28 I got my replacement cheque.
Today March 30 I take the cheque to the bank and cash it, about 4 or 5 hours later My neighbour shows up with the original cheque. Lol
So I put return to sender on it with a note saying I cashed the replacement cheque and put it in the mail box in the lobby.
I also notified Canada Post online to let them know they can expect the original cheque back.
Ironically they sent it to an apartment in which the previous tenant moved out and moved to a unit downstairs lol
