Zechariah 8:1-13 Do you even know what it is to be blessed?
1 The word of the Lord Almighty came to me. 2 This is what the Lord Almighty says: “I am very jealous for Zion; I am burning with jealousy for her.” 3 This is what the Lord says: “I will return to Zion and dwell in Jerusalem. Then Jerusalem will be called the Faithful City, and the mountain of the Lord Almighty will be called the Holy Mountain.”
How about today, what is NYC, or Beijing, or London, or any other city called? We use terms like “superpower” and “vibrant” and modern, but are any of these called “the faithful city”? People want their cities to be economically vibrant, but being faithful is the best reputation for any business. Cuomo, the governor of NY required that contagious people with Covid be sent back to nursing homes where the most vulnerable were. In this way they maximized the death rate in the nursing homes and by so doing NY was able to reduce the money they had to pay for pensions and retirement. That is the definition of "unfaithful". Fauci called his actions "the gold standard".
4 This is what the Lord Almighty says: “Once again men and women of ripe old age will sit in the streets of Jerusalem, each of them with cane in hand because of their age. 5 The city streets will be filled with boys and girls playing there.”
Here is a vision of a blessed city and we are so befuddled by the idolatry of the materialistic world that we have no idea what it is to be blessed. You have charlatans preaching that prosperity is to have gold chains, big cars and live in a mansion. They call that blessing. People live in gated communities, drive limos, and send their kids to private schools. I remember during the height of the AIDS epidemic you could go to the worst hit countries and it was as though an entire generation was missing. The entire age group it seemed had died from AIDS. When I taught in Taiwan I was stunned because about a third of my young adult students walked with canes. I asked why this was and they explained that they had been hit by cars while playing in the alleys. You can learn a lot about a city by simply walking the streets. Does this sound good today, for old people to sit in the streets and for young kids to play in the streets? No one wants to do that today because of cars, but get rid of the cars and you change everything. If your kids can play in the streets and your old people can sit out their watching the kids it is a safe city, a place that is very social where you get to meet your neighbors. Not only so but you obviously avoided wars for the last sixty years or so otherwise you would be missing a whole generation of men. Do you know what was a blessing to me? It was having my kids grandparents take care of them during the day. Their grandfather was in his eighties, he went to work every day and he played tennis everyday. He had escaped from China with the KMT when the communists took over and had to be nursed back to health in the hospital. The woman that nursed him back became his wife. At the end of the day all the kids would come to eat with them. My mother in law cooked dinner for us everyday. That was the best food I ever ate, healthy, fresh, with about twelve of us crammed around a small table. Everything was in good order, my kids grew up being respectful to their elders, and everyone was part of a family and a community. Everyone was healthy, we ate good, had good fellowship, and everyone had a function from the youngest to the oldest.
6 This is what the Lord Almighty says: “It may seem marvelous to the remnant of this people at that time, but will it seem marvelous to me?” declares the Lord Almighty. 7 This is what the Lord Almighty says: “I will save my people from the countries of the east and the west. 8 I will bring them back to live in Jerusalem; they will be my people, and I will be faithful and righteous to them as their God.”
We will be known as the faithful city because we will be expressing the faithful and righteous God.
9 This is what the Lord Almighty says: “Now hear these words, ‘Let your hands be strong so that the temple may be built.’ This is also what the prophets said who were present when the foundation was laid for the house of the Lord Almighty. 10 Before that time there were no wages for people or hire for animals. No one could go about their business safely because of their enemies, since I had turned everyone against their neighbor. 11 But now I will not deal with the remnant of this people as I did in the past,” declares the Lord Almighty.
Now let’s look at the contrast with the black background. Everyone is cheating everyone. High unemployment and it was hard to get by living like an animal much less like a man. And he had turned everyone against their neighbor. Wow! That is what we are seeing today. The BLM and ANTIFA riots with people talking about “burn it down” or “lynching white people” or “death to America”. The town I grew up in was the same place that Norman Rockwell grew up in (after he moved from NYC). So when you look at his paintings you get a very good impression of what it was like. How we have changed in just one generation. I could never have imagined back then what I am seeing today. You see people randomly shooting and killing people with guns and knives. You see videos of people being jumped in the streets as though they were a straggler being picked off by the wolves. You see these woke corporations and talking heads kow towing to thugs and hooligans. There is a mob mentality and for some bizarre reason they seem to rule corporate America. In Hollywood they follow people home who were shopping in jewelry stores, rob them and run them over. In NYC a man goes into the subway, fires a smoke bomb, puts on a gas mask and shoots up a subway car. Around the country police are being targeted, shot and 123 were killed in 2023.
12 “The seed will grow well, the vine will yield its fruit, the ground will produce its crops, and the heavens will drop their dew. I will give all these things as an inheritance to the remnant of this people. 13 Just as you, Judah and Israel, have been a curse among the nations, so I will save you, and you will be a blessing. Do not be afraid, but let your hands be strong.”
One thing I have seen and really appreciated is that those who were most attuned to the damaging rhetoric were those who had come from socialist countries. I went to a Stop the Steal rally in Washington DC and wanted to know why people were there. I found people who had come from Cuba or Venezuela or China or Vietnam and they said they had seen the same thing happen where they came from. Experiencing the curse is like getting sick with the flu. Once you get better you now have immunity to that virus. You come from a place where everyone is turned against their neighbor you will have immunity. You will know how important the Lord’s command to love your neighbor is. Take that away and heaven becomes hell. I heard a story once illustrating this point. He said that in hell it was like being at a great banquet feast but you can only reach the food with these very long forks and it is impossible to then bring that fork to your mouth. People became savage having all that right in front of their face and they couldn’t eat any of it. Heaven was very different, they still needed the very long forks to get the food and it was still impossible to bring that fork to your mouth, but in heaven people had learned to feed each other.

Command that these stones be made bread
Matthew 4:1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.
3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
40 years after Jesus was crucified Titus came to Jerusalem typifying the Antichrist and he commanded that the stones of the temple be thrown down because each one was covered in gold. He wanted the stones to be "made gold" because in the Antichrist system they live by gold alone and not by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. The Antichrist is a counterfeit to Jesus and although he will go through the same temptations the contrast will be in his response.
This event occurs 3 1/2 years before the crucifixion and 3 1/2 years before Armageddon we will see the Antichrist kingdom in extreme poverty, the temptation will be there, and the expression "you can't get blood from a stone" will be tested by him.
So then, what would "turn stones to bread" indicate? Could mean that there is oil in the rock. Can't be sure from this one portion, but what will be sure is that the 40 days and nights of fasting will indicate that the Antichrist is hungry and the situation is grim with nothing but stones to work with.
This is not that different from the "final solution". Hitler commanded that the Jews "be made bread". It wasn't simply sending them to a concentration camp. They stole their homes, their possessions, their bank accounts, their businesses, even the gold fillings in their teeth.

14 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,
15 The land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles;
16 The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.
17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
If we continue with the analogy that the Antichrist will also go through a 40 day and night fast before the start of the last 3 1/2 year period of the tribulation, then this great light springing up to those in the region and shadow of death would indicate a great revival prior to the last 3 1/2 year period.
They are sitting in great darkness, that suggests the "outer darkness" that those who are rejected at the time of the rapture are cast out into. There is a contrast here between Nazareth and Capernaum. Between the despised region and the great city. 'Those who are despised by the world are those that are raptured, those who are in the "great city" the big, wealthy denominations and mega churches will be those left behind. They will be cast into outer darkness and then those people who sat in darkness will see a great light.
Notice how it says "by the way of the sea". The sea represents the Gentile nations. Many churches have adopted "the way of the sea" the way of the nations. Christmas is an example of the way of the nations. All religions "worship the same god" is the way of the nations. Evolution is the way of the nations. The apostasy has left the word of God, they have left the light and they sit in the shadow of death.
So what is the word to the apostate church right after they are left behind? Repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

24 And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.
25 And there followed him great multitudes of people from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judaea, and from beyond Jordan.
It is stunning the contrast between these verses and listening to Gamaliel in Acts compare Jesus to insurrectionists who had claimed that they were someone. You wonder how could they possibly be talking about the same person. But then today you see the level of censorship, lies and darkness while talking about Trump. I was in NYC listening to MSNBC and CNN for four years when the Stop the Steal rallies began. There was a rally in Washington DC, four hours away, on a Saturday. I wasn't working, my wife was working a double shift, I thought let me drive down there and see for myself what is going on. The contrast was stunning, I realized the story I was being told by MSNBC and CNN was not the truth. In the gospels it takes more than three years, first it is the deplorables from the region around Syria, but when Jesus rides into Jerusalem even all of Jerusalem is now crying Hosannah!
We are about to enter the 4th year of Biden's presidency and already you can see this same pattern with Trump. Three years ago it was the "deplorables" cheering him on while their betters in the great cities knew better. But today the popularity is spreading even to cities like NYC and Chicago.

A Common Mistake made about tribulation
Matthew 24:20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: 21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
You can argue that this word is for the Jews, but it is still a reference to the people of God. You can also argue that this was fulfilled in 70AD, but pattern is prophesy, what we saw in 70AD we will see again at the end of this age, they are like two bookends holding up the entire church age between them.
Acts 14:22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.
All believers go through tribulation, and that has been going on for the entire church age. A more accurate description of the last 7 years of this age is "the 70th week" from Daniel, and the wrath of God is not poured out until you get to the mid point of those seven years. One major mistake people make is to equate "the tribulation" with "the wrath of God" and say we are not appointed to wrath therefore there is a pre tribulation rapture. The "pre tribulation rapture" would refer to those who came out of the grave at the time of Jesus Resurrection, because we have had tribulation for the entire church age. We have had counterfeit messiah's, war, famine, plague and martyrdom for the entire 2,000 years. However, pattern is prophecy so we will see this condensed, intensified and nuttified like never before during those last seven years.
Romans 2:9 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;
Tribulation first on the Jews, that is what we saw with the holocaust. But after that also on the Gentiles, that is what we see in the book of Revelation. On the cross they crucified Jesus, a third of the Godhead, during the Holocaust they killed a third of the Jews and during the 70th week a third of the nations will be killed.
2Thessalonians 1:6 Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;
This is where many "anti dispensationalists" go wrong. At the end of the church age the church is caught up like at the olympics the winners of the events stand on a platform and get a reward. But then those that troubled you will be troubled. That is what the 70th week is, a last chance to repent as righteous judgement falls. The problem is that most of the troubling comes from those in religion. So Peter says that Judgement begins with the house of God, the 70th week must begin with judgement on the "house of God". The rapture is one kind of judgment, and "troubling those that troubled you" is another kind of judgement. Both must take place at the beginning of the 70th week.
Revelation 7:14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
Clearly believers will "come out of great tribulation" which mostly refers to the persecution during the 70th week with the beheading of those who won't take the mark of the beast.

One major mistake people make is to equate "the tribulation" with "the wrath of God" and say we are not appointed to wrath therefore there is a pre tribulation rapture. The "pre tribulation rapture" would refer to those who came out of the grave at the time of Jesus Resurrection, because we have had tribulation for the entire church age. We have had counterfeit messiah's, war, famine, plague and martyrdom for the entire 2,000 years. However, pattern is prophecy so we will see this condensed, intensified and nuttified like never before during those last seven years.
Romans 2:9 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;
Tribulation first on the Jews, that is what we saw with the holocaust. But after that also on the Gentiles, that is what we see in the book of Revelation. On the cross they crucified Jesus, a third of the Godhead, during the Holocaust they killed a third of the Jews and during the 70th week a third of the nations will be killed.
2Thessalonians 1:6 Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;
This is where many "anti dispensationalists" go wrong. At the end of the church age the church is caught up like at the olympics the winners of the events stand on a platform and get a reward. But then those that troubled you will be troubled. That is what the 70th week is, a last chance to repent as righteous judgement falls. The problem is that most of the troubling comes from those in religion. So Peter says that Judgement begins with the house of God, the 70th week must begin with judgement on the "house of God". The rapture is one kind of judgment, and "troubling those that troubled you" is another kind of judgement. Both must take place at the beginning of the 70th week.
Revelation 7:14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
Clearly believers will "come out of great tribulation" which mostly refers to the persecution during the 70th week with the beheading of those who won't take the mark of the beast.

The following paraphrase should be treated as a remez (hint) based allegory which uses the p’shat (plain) meaning of the Hebrew names to generate a drash (comparative teaching) or mashal (parable) and nothing more. I am in no way suggesting that this is the p’shat (plain) meaning of the text, which is a historical, literal genealogy of post flood humanity.

Gen 10:10 As a result, the beginning of his kingdom was confusion that lasted a long time and was insidious dwelling in a fortress of false answers amongst the young. Gen 10:11 From the earth he went forward a further step and established a place for an ancient king, and a city of wide open streets, and vigour, Gen 10:12 And there was a bridle upon the ancient king and his vigour: his city is one of great anguish. Gen 10:13 And Double distress gave birth to revolution and turmoil, whose descendants were strife, which was answered by waters and flames in the open Gen 10:14 And wet lands that were fortified, produced a land of Sojourners, a cup and a crown. Gen 10:15 And the slave merchant first gave birth to hunters and terror, Gen 10:16 And then to one dwelling in the rain of peace, and the prophet, dwelling on clay soil (a man of the earth), Gen 10:17 And then the villager (the average man), and the one gnawing in suffering, and the one wearing thorns, Gen 10:18 And then I will break loose, and cut off twice the children of my sheep, and the fortress of the water skins: and afterward the families of the slave merchant were spread abroad. Gen 10:19 And the territory of the slave merchant covered hunting grounds and the dwelling place of the strong on the way to burning and submersion beneath the red earth, like Gazelles diving into a fissure. Jeremiah 30:3 For, lo, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will bring again the captivity of my people Israel and Judah, saith the Lord: and I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it.
Jeremiah's prophecy is what Daniel read to realize that the Babylonian exile would be over after 70 years. However, pattern is prophecy so this can also refer to God's people returning to the land in 1948. The word of God is living and active and sharper than a two edged sword and we live by every word of God. Those who claim that this prophecy or that prophecy was fulfilled already are essentially denying that the word is still living and active today. If I describe in great detail how an apple tree goes from seed to fruit bearing tree to being cut down for firewood. This may be based on a tree I planted but it still applies today.
4 And these are the words that the Lord spake concerning Israel and concerning Judah. 5 For thus saith the Lord; We have heard a voice of trembling, of fear, and not of peace. 6 Ask ye now, and see whether a man doth travail with child? wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned into paleness? 7 Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble, but he shall be saved out of it.
This expression "that day is great" is referring to the full ten years, not simply to one day or one year. However, there are some really great days that take place. The rapture is great. Jesus stepping down on the Mount of Olives is great. Armageddon is great and terrible.
8 For it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord of hosts, that I will break his yoke from off thy neck, and will burst thy bonds, and strangers shall no more serve themselves of him: 9 But they shall serve the Lord their God, and David their king, whom I will raise up unto them.
After returning to Israel from Babylon the Jews were put under bondage by the Greeks and then the Romans, after which Jesus, David their king, came. They didn't receive Him but that gave us a chance at salvation. At the end of the church age the same thing happens again. God is giving them a second chance. But when Jesus returns this time they again will be brought into bondage of the Antichrist. Prior to Jesus coming it was Antiochus, when Jesus came it was Herod. Both are types of the Antichrist. But this also applies to the church so when the rapture takes place Jesus will break the yoke from off the neck of the Christians. It will be a rescue.
10 Therefore fear thou not, O my servant Jacob, saith the Lord; neither be dismayed, O Israel: for, lo, I will save thee from afar, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be in rest, and be quiet, and none shall make him afraid. 11 For I am with thee, saith the Lord, to save thee: though I make a full end of all nations whither I have scattered thee, yet I will not make a full end of thee: but I will correct thee in measure, and will not leave thee altogether unpunished.
Judgement begins with the house of God. Christians and Jews will not go unpunished, the apostate church, the secular Jews, we all will have to appear before the judgement seat. However, much of the judgement on this great and terrible day will be against the nations.
12 For thus saith the Lord, Thy bruise is incurable, and thy wound is grievous. 13 There is none to plead thy cause, that thou mayest be bound up: thou hast no healing medicines. 14 All thy lovers have forgotten thee; they seek thee not; for I have wounded thee with the wound of an enemy, with the chastisement of a cruel one, for the multitude of thine iniquity; because thy sins were increased.
The day of tribulation exposes who your true friends are, it exposes that only Jesus is faithful, only Jesus is the one you can trust. The apostate church will be seriously reprimanded for becoming mixed with the world.
15 Why criest thou for thine affliction? thy sorrow is incurable for the multitude of thine iniquity: because thy sins were increased, I have done these things unto thee. 16 Therefore all they that devour thee shall be devoured; and all thine adversaries, every one of them, shall go into captivity; and they that spoil thee shall be a spoil, and all that prey upon thee will I give for a prey.
Today the term "corruption" refers to all those that devour thee, all that spoil thee, all that prey upon thee.
17 For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the Lord; because they called thee an Outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeketh after.
Hillary called some "deplorables" and "irredeemable" they were mocked by the Beltway crowd, and treated as outcasts. They call their states "flyover country".

After going through the battle and mud and the gore nothing is better than a big banquet in front of a roaring fire after having a good hot shower.
20 Their children also shall be as aforetime, and their congregation shall be established before me, and I will punish all that oppress them.
Look what they are doing and teaching the children, that will be put to an end.
21 And their nobles shall be of themselves, and their governor shall proceed from the midst of them; and I will cause him to draw near, and he shall approach unto me: for who is this that engaged his heart to approach unto me? saith the Lord. 22 And ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.

34. Lord I confess these promises that you have made to me in Your Word
27:1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? 2 When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.

Amen Lord, every day I partake of Your table and drink of Your cup and I pray that this would cover me in a bubble that shields me from all devils. In Jesus name, Amen.

45. I command all physical poisons inside my system to be neutralized, in the name of Jesus.
46. Let all evil assignments fashioned against me through the mouth be nullified, in the name of Jesus,
47. Let all spiritual problems attached to any hour of the night be canceled, in the name of Jesus.
48. Bread of heaven, fill me till I want no more, in Jesus' name.
49. Let the blood of Jesus wash all the organs in my body, in the name of Jesus.
50. Let all sicknesses planted in my life through evil spiritual food be destroyed, in the name of Jesus.
51. Let all satanic designs of oppression against me, be frustrated, in Jesus' name.
52. I remove my name from the register of evil feeders with the blood of Jesus.
53. Let the habitation of evil caterers become desolate, in Jesus' name.
54. I destroy every satanic accident organized for my sake, in the name of Jesus.

58. I cancel and wipe off all evil dreams, in the name of Jesus.
