I guess that depends on who "we" is.

John 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. 11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. 12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.

MATT 24:
45 “Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in charge of the servants in his household to give them their food at the proper time? 46 It will be good for that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns. 47 Truly I tell you, he will put him in charge of all his possessions. 48 But suppose that servant is wicked and says to himself, ‘My master is staying away a long time,’ 49 and he then begins to beat his fellow servants and to eat and drink with drunkards. 50 The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of. 51 He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
The "we" are all those that are "in Christ"..Those that are in Christ have the love of God in them Romans 5:5 ..and we love because He first loved us. Sometimes they just need to grow up in the Lord and not live from the flesh.

Live from the reality of our new creation in Christ - created in righteousness and holiness. Paul said to "Awake to righteousness and sin not"..awake means to come to oneself, to sober up to who you really are.

Matthew 24 is a whole different subject and is has nothing to do with the new creation in Christ.

The verse about Laodicea came to mind as I read this. They ARE in Christ ... for one cannot be spewed out if one is not IN.

They say they are rich in Christ ... they say they "see" the truth ... they say they are "clothed in righteousness" ... but Jesus says they are lukewarm for all their boasting and confidence. He says they are blind, naked, poor creatures who are on the verge of being vomited out of His mouth.

In good conscience I must consider this church with care ... and offer caution.

In all fairness ... I also try to keep an avid eye on my own temperature.

Ephesians 4:22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

The "old man" is corrupt because of deceitful lusts. The reason lusts are deceitful is because they appear to be good for us when in reality they result in broken fellowship with Father. Recall Eve when she saw that the tree was good ... that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired (Gen 3:6).

Thank God He has provided the "new man":

Ephesians 4:23-24 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Come back to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning; for there are some who are ignorant of God—I say this to your shame.
1 cor 15:34

Paul is telling the corinthians that sin is destructive and wrong, so you need to just come to this understanding and you will stop sinning.

This is not some mystical self realisation, it is just admiting sin is sin, repenting of it and getting right with God.

Missuse of scripture and reading in something that was never intended.

"We love God because He first loved us" is so true. God is eternal so from eternity love always loves within the constraints of righteousness and justice. God put love into our hearts when we were born, as our heart beat. This is what it means to be made in Gods image. But without communion or dwelling in the vine we wither and die, and are only worth being burnt in the fire.

Do you actually believe Jesus will spit out body parts as we Christians are a part of His body? Jesus said I will never leave nor forsake you and no one can pluck you out of my Father's hands nor My hands.

We need to read all scriptures that "seems" to contradict the very clear word of God with caution and with the Holy Spirit. No where does it say that they say " they are rich in Christ or clothed in righteousness..etc"..don't know where you got that idea from.

Can we really "buy" salvation as it seems to say in this text? Who is really wretched and poor?

How do we overcome because Jesus said "he that overcomes I will grant to him to sit down with My on My throne?" Paul said that we are seated with Christ now at His right hand. Eph. 2:6 and Col 3:1-3.

For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.” (1 Jn 5:4-5)

There is a lot more to this then meets the casual eye.

I encourage you to look at these teachings on the church of the Laodicea.

I always reminded of the Lone Ranger and Tonto when I hear this. Both are surrounded by Indians and LR says, "We're in big trouble, Tonto!" Tonto says, "What do you mean "We", kemosabe?"

When he has others to replace rebellious parts, not a problem. His house will be filled.

Then he said to his slaves, ‘The wedding celebration is ready, but those who had been invited were not worthy. Therefore, go out to the [places where] the roads exit the city and invite to the wedding celebration as many [people] as you find.’ Matthew 22:8-9

You do not have a sin nature. This is a lie. It was crucified with Christ.

C.
Interesting....I know that my old nature was crucified with Christ. I know it, I know it...it is IN my brain and my heart. BUT Is it appropriate to say we no longer have one? Oh how I wish it were true.

So I guess in Ephesians, when we are told we are seated with Christ in heavenly places that there are people constantly leaving and coming back it. Sounds like a mess. It is nonsense. Salvation is OF THE LORD. We can't earn it, we can't keep it. Let me tell you right now if there is a way to LOSE it and screw it up YOU WILL. You are not that good. I'd rather the Lord take us while we are his because we will be doomed to mess it all up. Good grief. Put no confidence in your flesh. Christ finished the work...who are we to continue to try to earn something that was given as a gift. It's downright insulting. The work is done. Sit down.

Here is another scripture along the same lines ...

Romans 11

17 If some of the branches have been broken off, and you, though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive root, 18 do not consider yourself to be superior to those other branches. If you do, consider this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you. 19 You will say then, “Branches were broken off so that I could be grafted in.” 20 Granted. But they were broken off because of unbelief, and you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but tremble. 21 For if God did not spare the natural branches, he will not spare you either.

It is the truth. Why would it not be appropriate to say so?

LOL...so Jesus spits us out for other ones to come in? My goodness - you do not seem to know Him in the least.

Paul said to those that were having sex with the temple prostitutes in 1 Cor that they were in Christ and they were joining Christ to the prostitutes. He didn't say they were going to be spitted out. ...instead he told them who they really were in Christ.

Matt 22 - Again when we put that scripture "in context" Jesus was talking to the Pharisees and said that those invited were not worthy as they were rejecting Jesus.

This was a parable speaking to the Pharisess who thought they were in because of having Abraham as their father...they thought they were worthy of eternal life.

Here is a biblical example of this very thing happening to the Jews. Paul said if the Jews rejected Jesus - he is going to the gentiles.

Acts 13:46 (NASB)
[SUP]46 [/SUP] Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly and said, "It was necessary that the word of God be spoken to you first; since you repudiate it and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, behold, we are turning to the Gentiles.

God is able to keep us from falling:

Jude 1:24-25 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

Essentially what hyper grace teaches: that salvation cannot be lost even if one lives like the devil because only the new creation (spirit) matters.

never heard of that

a saved person will not be living like the devil no matter what

that would be the opposite of the new creation in Christ that Cee posted for the op, right?

Because we still sin. If it isn't the sin nature doing it, who is it? Can't be my new nature!

If we indeed are seated in Heavenly places and we await our Savior from Heaven (Phi 3:20) and we know that there is zero sin in Heaven, then how can we say we are still sinners? It is a difficult thing indeed to trust what God says over who we think and feel we are but if we can get over ourselves and have faith His Word is true then we can know who we really are in Christ. Then and only then can we love ourselves and others and fulfill the only 2 commandments that Jesus gave us.

I will close on the subject with that quote ...

There have been debates on debates of this subject ... and I am not here to prove anything to anyone.

Some will have ears for the scriptures you have presented ... some will have ears for the ones I have presented.

Ultimately it is the Holy Spirit in each of us that deciphers truth.

May God bless us all in our endeavors to seek it.

It's you doing it. Who else would it be?
