There is no reason this discussion should turn ugly at all. The basic premise presumes from the outset to interject human ego and persona into a Godly institution. And from that standpoint, moves to argue what God would not do. Using errant references to display confirmation bias.
Not any group of people participating in this discussion that appears on every Christian forum sooner or later will concede their point. And that is the point.
Women were leaders in scripture. Women were teachers in scripture. It is not consistent to argue "I believe God's word and what it says....." , as a Christian and then disparage God's word and what it says about those proofs concerning women.
