Other people living at that time could have come from the same bloodline, since 1. Eve is called the mother of all living, and 2. we do not know how many years had elapsed since everything began, and in even just a couple of hundred years, with people living to around 900 years of age, there could have been several hundreds of thousand people by then. Cain building a city in his lifetime is testament to rapid population growth. Even if he did select a woman from Nod, they could have easily been related to him also given that people would have moved away as the population grew, naturally forcing expansion into new territory in order to provide resources for the growing needs of the people. There were no laws against intermarriage among close relatives, and genetic mutations were so much not a problem that God encouraged marriage between family members (Genesis 17:9; Genesis 28:10-15). Cain could have married a niece or great niece with no genetic mutations because the human genome had not yet been corrupted, and geneticists agree that the human genome devolves or degrades as it accumulates irreversible genetic errors over time. God’s law concerning incest was not instituted until the Law of Moses came into effect..
True...time could explain it, but God saw incest as an abomination. An abomination is evil in the eyes of God...just like homosexuality. Do you also believe Homosexuality was okay with God before the Law of Moses? And as I pointed out, man would not have survived more than a few generations. Unless the genetics of man were changed by these Giants in Genesis 6:4 as some believe.

That is one, very good, explanation....if it is true. And BTW...you're right about evolution, straight up foolishness. Creation...must have a creator. And....no need for insults, that just makes you look small, and brother...that's truly not my objective. My objective is to get folks to see the story in it's proper light.

Take a close look at these Giants, which were here before and after the flood. Now if they were here, after the flood, Can you tell me how they survived the flood? I mean they were clearly not animals, and the only people on the Ark were Noahs family.
Do you believe Noah a Giant?
Giant genes still remained in the corrupted genome, particularly in Ham's wife and passed down through lineage of Canaan. That's one reason why Ham wasn't cursed even though he sinned against Noah, but Canaan was cursed. It didn't take long though, you've got Nimrod, the grandson of Canaan as a prominant giant by the fourth generation from Ham.

I believe it is because living things need light to survive??

Any thoughts appreciated!
As a matter of common sense, we are blind without light.

In terms of current scientific knowledge,God commanded, Let there be light. BOOM!Big bang,The universe exploded out light.

Einstein's law of conservation of energy,So the energy of these lights are transformed into large light and small light,Sun and stars.

God separates light from darkness,Therefore, the planet of the universe composed of the energy of light is separated from the cosmic background,So the cosmic background we see is black because it's darkness.

Yes. I do believe that the earth is old, not the 6,000 years supposed. I believe that the waters that covered the earth were a flood that predates Noah's. God judged the first creation, maybe due to Satan's fall. That's implied, not stated directly.

Without light, very little can live. This is also symbolic of the fall of man. The human race was plunged into spiritual darkness as a result of Adam's folly. Before man can be saved, the Light must shine again. Lord Jesus is that light.

'For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made His light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.' 2 Corinthians 4:6

Where does the bible say Nimrod was a Giant?
BTW...These men who reported the sons of Anak were Giants,...were punished by God. Why?
It was a lie.
But don't take my word for it....

But the men who went up with him said, “We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we.” And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, “The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof, and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature. And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, who come of the giants. And we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.”
(Numbers 13:31-33)
And the men, whom Moses sent to search the land, who returned and made all the congregation to murmur against him by bringing up a slander upon the land, even those men who brought up the evil report upon the land, died by the plague before the Lord.
(Numbers 14:36-37)

BTW...genes...another good answer.

You’re reading a corrupted biblical version. Mine in Num. 13:36 says “bringing a BAD report of the land.” They didn’t make up stuffs from their imagination. And I’ve heard this Bible portion in several sermons, the lesson from all of those sermons was the perspective. Joshua and Caleb went to scout the same land and saw the same giants, and yet they had faith in God’s promise, they didn’t freak out like the other ten spies, because they had God’s perspective. Those ten spies, though, took the giants’ perspective, they lost their confidence and saw themselves as grasshoppers before any of those giants could mock them as grasshoppers.

Where there is no law there is no transgression. Romans 4:15b.

I haven't read all the posts, but the Sun not only gave light, but also heat. But that heat would be worthless without the atmosphere God created at the same time. The firmament spoken of in the Bible and the waters that were above the firmament, caused the Earth to stay warm, and to filter out harmful UV rays. The arctics used to be warm. So without the atmosphere, Earth would be just like the moon or Mars with extreme temperatures. Life would not exist without both.
And by the way, the waters that were above the firmament, are no longer there. That came down during the flood. And did anyone notice, people were not living as long after the flood? That was because, the earth used to be like one big hyperbolic chamber. It caused everything to live longer and grow bigger.

How do you know my Bible version is corrupted?
And what version are you readin?

Many people don't know it...But Abraham was also given laws to Follow.
And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed, because Abraham obeyed My voice, and kept My charge, My commandments, My statutes, and My laws.”

Why does the King James version use the word, "replenish", instead of, fill, concerning man populating the Earth?
Replenish, suggests the Earth was once filled with man and now God is starting over again, whereas the word fill, would suggest a beginning or the first time, God will be populating the Earth.

The King James translation is wrong. It has been used by gap theory supporters. However, the Hebrew word is more accurately rendered fill, not replenish. It has not affected my belief in the pre-Adamic creation theory.

Since God was the beginning and the end, there was no “pre” attached to anything when time didn't exist. It was like a frozen second where everything is in absolute standstill.

The question is when that moment occurred. Some, like me, believe that it was long before Adam and Eve. I do not believe in billions of years. The interaction of the moon and earth is driving the moon away from the earth. If the earth was as old as claimed, the moon would be far enough away for the interaction to cease and we'd have no tides.

There was no formal law as in the law of Moses. Adam and Eve were warned of the consequences of disobedience. Their wounds were self inflicted. God showed mercy and grace to allow them to continue the human race. God made clothes for them.

According to Law, Cain should have died. There was no law. God dealt with men directly.
Acts 17:
…29Therefore, being offspring of God, we should not think that the Divine Being is like gold or silver or stone, an image formed by man’s skill and imagination. 30 Although God overlooked the ignorance of earlier times, He now commands all people everywhere to repent.

God's law applied only to one nation, Israel. There was no law until the wilderness. Law was God's second best. He sought relationship with the people of Israel, but they would not have it. So they agreed to the law, with it's principle of blessing and cursing.

Other nations and cultures developed their own rules and their own punishments without reference to God.

That moment is Gen. 1:1 when God flipped a switch. It wasn't like building a house brick by brick, board by board. That's how Nimrod built the Tower of Babel. How God did it? I said this many times, the closest example was a programmer activated the written code, then the program came alive.

Or Another way of saying it, though there was Law, they were not Under The Law.
