Thanks - but not sure that helps - just adds to John 5:17 'Advocate' - send 'another comforter' / 'spirit of truth' - HS was already here from the beginning Gen 1:2, never went away
"He is WITH you, and He will be IN you. He obviously was already here WITH the disciples in a particular way, but be was sent to become here IN them in a different way.

From my point of view, the Father wants you to know Him. The Son wants you to know Him. Matt 11: 27 All things are delivered unto me by my Father, and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, except the Son, and he to whomever the Son will reveal Him. We are all born in a particular time in the human timeline. For some reason, we are met with the beliefs and traditions that have come before us and they get imbeded in us so that these beliefs and traditions continue for the next generation. The sad part of all this is that people are not even aware of this influence. They just follow along. Some examples are: Thanksgiving, 4th of July, Superbowl Sunday, County Fairs, Halloween, saying "bless you" when someone sneezes, dressing up to go to church, Christmas and all that comes with it, and the nonsensical concept of the Trinity. The Trinity was officially established during the Council of Nicea in 325 AD which was convened by the sun worshipping Roman emperor Constantine. Christians had experienced the worst persecution ever under the previous Roman emperor Diocletian. Under Constantine, Christianity was made a legally recognized religion in 315 AD and Christianity spread all over the empire. Seeing that there was a lot of controversy among the Christian churches, he convened the Council of Nicea so that they would be unified in their beliefs and teachings. All churches were forced to teach the Trinity by the sunworshipping Roman emperor. That is the origin of orthodox Christianity. Since he worshipped the sun once a week, he changed the sabath from Saturday to a special day called Sunday. He also declared that the birth of Christ was to be celebrated on Dec 25 which coincided with the time that sunworshippers celebrated the winter solstice. Their celebration consisted of decorating trees and exchanging gifts. Amazingly, this tradition is still alive.
We have the Son who is trying to educate people about the Father encumbered by the tradition of the Trinity. Trinitarians are comfortable in their beliefs and it takes courage to even entertain the idea that their whole perspective on the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is wrong. Understanding is knocking at the door and Trinitarians won't even open the door. Again, all you have to do is read and reflect on
all of my posts, not bits and pieces. You will then be able to consider the choices and decide what you want to believe. Don't let tradition do the choosing for you.

1Co 8:6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things.

Eph 4:6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

For people that believe in a trinity why would the Bible only attribute the Father as God.

They should understand what the Bible is saying which is the reason so many lack the wisdom to understand the Bible resulting in different interpretations.

God said you shall not have any gods before me.

When the Bible says one God it means one God.

Greetings Friend, you left out verse 5 in 1 Cor 8. For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth (as there are gods many, and Lords many), I would have to assume that the phrase "you shall not have any gods before me" means that the Father is the one God of all, including other gods. For me Christ is our Lord, our Savior, and our God, but the Father is the one God of all. Psalm 45: 6 Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever; the scepter of thy kingdom is a right scepter. In this verse the Father calls Christ a god, who will sit on a throne whose subjects will consist of righteous people. Since Christ is the image of the invisible God (the Father) because Christ is the temple of the Father, when Christ sits on his throne, so will the Father. 1 Cor 15: 27-28 For He (the Father) hath put all things under His (the Son's) feet. But when He (the Father) saith all things are put under Him (the Son), it is manifest that He (the Father) is excepted who did put all things under Him (the Father). In other words, the one God of all (the Father) has made the first begotten (Christ) and only god formed in our reality, Lord and God of all creation. The Father is excluded because the Father has always existed and was not created or formed.
Dear montana123, you are on the right track and I encourage you to read all of my posts on this thread.

"before me" means above me. "beside me" means at the same level as me.
