Justified by Grace !

That those Christ died for, are Justified before God, by His redeeming death alone, apart from their faith , their believing, or any Gospel obedience whatsover, and while they are still being ungodly Rom 4:5, it is confirmed by this Truth right here Rom 3:24

24 Being justified freely by his grace through[on the account of] the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

NOG:

24 They receive God’s approval freely by an act of his kindness through the price Christ Yeshua paid to set us free from sin.

Basically what this means, God accepts all those Christ died for as Righteous, a Gracious Gift, simply on the basis of Christ Paying the ransom.

That's being Justified by Grace, a Free Gift, not offered, not made available, but a Divine Reckoning in the Mind of God for us Rom 8:31-34

31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.

34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

God does not lay any charge against them for whom Christ paid the ransom for, and that's Justification for them freely because of the Redemption in Christ Jesus !

The redemption is His Blood payment, as a result of His Offering Himself in their stead and behalf, to satisfy God's Law and Justice against all their sins they sinned against His Law. God has nothing to charge them with, they are totally forgiven through His Blood Matt 26:28

28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

Remission of sins is the result of the shedding of the blood ! Remission means:

a sending away, a letting go, a release, pardon, complete forgiveness.

It s a setting free of sin, a Justification, being made free from sin as in Rom 6:7

7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.

That word freed[dikaioō] means :

to render righteous or such he ought to be

2) to show, exhibit, evince, one to be righteous, such as he is and wishes himself to be considered

3) to declare, pronounce, one to be just, righteous, or such as he ought to be

It can read:

for he that hath died is justified from sin.

7 For someone who has died has been cleared from sin.

They died in the Head, the Lord Jesus Christ. They died in Him Representativley in the same way they died representatively in Adam Rom 5:12

12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

All for whom Christ died, they died with Him, Paul concludes that here 2 Cor 5:14

For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:or

14 For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that one died for all, therefore all died;ASV

So that's why Paul writes Rom 6:7

7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.

Having died [with Christ] they have been Justified from sin !

Eph 1:7

7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

This is actually the same thing Paul writes in Rom 3:24, except He emphasizes forgiveness of sins for Justification or being Justified by His Grace through Redemption.

Eph 1:7 Jesus Christ has given his blood [died] to make us free. He has forgiven us for our wrong ways. We have been put right with God freely because of his great kindness.WEB

Now this Justification by Grace has absolutely nothing to do with anything the benefactors did, thought or said, in fact in regards to them it [Justification] was without cause and it was undeserved It is solely based upon Christ's Death/ Blood shed for them.

That's why Paul says later that Christ was raised again for our Justification Rom 4:25

25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

25 Who was betrayed and put to death because of our misdeeds and was raised to secure our justification (our acquittal), [making our account balance and absolving us from all guilt before God].

Why ? Because of the redemption through His Blood ! So being Justified by His Grace freely through redemption, is not the same as being Justified by Faith, unless we do mean by faith, Christ's Faithfulness in shedding His Blood !

Justified before Faith and why !

Justified before believing and why ? Its so because, its by means of the act of another, that other is Christ Rom 5:19

19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

Now why are those Christ died for Justified or made Righteous before God before they believe ? Its because they were prior to condemned by the act of Adam, acting as their head and representative, and so when he sinned in that capacity [as their Head /Representative], God imputed condemnation upon all men that he did represent Rom 5:18a, for they [the all men] did not at that time have an actual existence, and so its not an act of theirs [personally] that resulted in the passing of Judgment of condemnation upon them.

Now it is true that the condemnation incurred as per Rom 5:18a by the sin of Adam does become sensibly realized when by the Spirit we are convinced of sin [sinnership], however we were condemned prior to being made sensible to it, by the act of another Adam ; AND so likewise, it is true that the Justification given us in Christ Our Head and Representative, is revealed to God given Faith, however we were Justified by the act of another [Christ] before the sensible realization of it is given though Faith !

Now Adam was a figure/type of Him that was to come [Christ] who came also in a Covenant Head/ Representative Capacity, and scripture tells us that by His act or doing or obedience [Vs 18], that all those He represented, the Judgment and sentence of God passed upon them because of it, is that they are made or declared Righteous and given Justification of life, and this as with the figure Adam, even before they He represented had any being or physical existence, Rom 5:18-19. 8

I have read a fair number of your post and reply’s by others. You seem to making one point . Correct me if I am wrong. You concluded that justification comes before one is ”God conscious.” Being declare “Righteous” before God is a different term.

It seems to me that the “Why” should be investigated. I am a simpleminded fellow that concludes that God’s foreknowledge is the missing part of your assertion. Those who hear and believe are declared righteous by the sacrifice and resurrection. Though all others are offered the same deal, “while they were yet sinners,” they refuse it.

Of course it was before they believed.
nope ... righteousness is imputed to a person when he/she believes.

Romans 3:

22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

wrong question, brightfame52 ...

God has provided everything mankind needs ... the question should be "how can mankind resist God's gracious provision" ???

Romans 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness

The words "who hold" are translated from the Greek word katechō which means to restrain, suppress, hinder. It is mankind who restrains, suppresses, hinders the truth in unrighteousness ... those who restrain, suppress, hinder the truth in unrighteousness do so to their own detriment.

nope ... only the means of justification is available ... and the means of justification is available to all mankind ... the whole world

John 3:

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

false premise. no one is "Justified or made Righteous" before they believe.

Romans 4:

20 He [Abraham] staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;

21 And being fully persuaded that, what he [God] had promised, he [God] was able also to perform.

22 And therefore it [Abraham's faith] was imputed to him for righteousness.

23 Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it [righteousness] was imputed to him;

24 But for us also, to whom it [righteousness] shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;

25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ

vs 24 - righteousness is imputed when a person believes on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead ... not before.

vs 1 - therefore being justified by faith ... the text does not read "therefore being justified before faith".

Amen, Precious friend, Sipsey! I (and Many) would rather prefer
"The Simplicity Of CHRIST" and HIS
Simple Gospel of GRACE, rather
than a 50-page Complicated Confusing philisophical essay of
"What must I do to be saved," Correct? To me, Christ Through Paul,
is The Best Summary Ever, eh?:

"Believe On The LORD JESUS CHRIST, And thou Shalt Be Saved!" (Acts_16:31)

Justified by Grace !

That those Christ died for, !
Christ died for everyone.
The Cross is a universal offer of Salvation, but not everyone will come to Jesus and receive Him so that their "faith is counted as Righteousness" because they are "Justified by Faith".

righteousness is imputed to a person
You who say this do not know what is free-will, and how it is possible to be really good; that he who is good by his own choice is really good; but he who is made good by another under necessity is not really good, because he is not what he is by his own choice.

So, Down from Heaven comes God to die on the Cross as Christ, 2000 yrs ago, to offer the perfect sinless life HE lived as Jesus, as if you lived it.

If you will BELIEVE this "Gospel" God will accept your faith and give you His Righteousness, and He will by the Holy Spirit give you the New Birth.. You will be born again by the Spirit of God, into the Holy Spirit of God, as "One with God"... "a new creation IN CHRIST".

The Holy Spirit cannot sin:

1 John 3:6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
Exodus 23:8 And thou shalt take no gift: for the gift blindeth the wise, and perverteth the words of the righteous.

Proverbs 15:27 He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house; but he that hateth gifts shall live.

Proverbs 17:23 A wicked man taketh a gift out of the bosom to pervert the ways of judgment.

Isaiah 1:23 Thy princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves: every one loveth gifts, and followeth after rewards: they judge not the fatherless, neither doth the cause of the widow come unto them.

Isaiah 5:22 Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink:
23 Which justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him!

Christ's death alone Justify's those He died for !

That Christ's Blood alone, Death alone Justified everyone for whom He died, all those whom offences were charged to Him; For that Truth is taught here Rom 4:25

25 Who was delivered for[because of] our [those He died for] offences, and was raised again for[because of][those He died for] our justification.

It's seen as well here Rom 5:18

18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

The words came upon are the prep εἰς which means:

into, in, unto, to, upon, towards, for, among.

1519 eis (a preposition) – properly, into (unto) – literally, "motion into which" implying penetration ("unto," "union") to a particular purpose or result.

It means toward the result of a specified purpose. The purposed result of the offence of the one adam was Judgment unto condemnation, and the purposed result of the righteousness of Christ [in His Life and Death] is Justification of Life.

Yes, the one act of righteousness here in Rom 5:18 is synonymous with that being delivered up for our trespasses in Rom 4:25; and the resulted Justification of Life in Rom 5:18 is synonymous to that Justification declared in Rom 4:25 evidenced by Christ's Resurrection !

In both instances the stated results were apart from any acts from the recipients of the actions by each one who acted, Adam and Christ in their behalf.

No act of Faith or believing was needed for the result of Justification of Life !

This is error. God has accepted Christs offering for the sins of them He died for, and because of that He gives them Christs righteousness, and later He gives them Faith to believe it.

It is certainly true that “justification” and “righteousness” are very closely related to each other. Even though the words look very different in English, in Hebrew and Greek they are based on the same root. This observation is often made (e.g. Wright 2009, 67-69), and it is an entirely valid and helpful observation as far as it goes.
Unfortunately, however, too often, once this observation has been made, the two words are then illegitimately assumed to be interchangeable. They are not.
