:rolleyes: ... if your so-called "Gods elect people" do not believe, the result is not "their justification".

Can you read from verse 1 to verse 18 and keep in mind what God told you in verse 1?

Romans 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ
.
The one act of Christ dying on the Cross for the sins of Gods elect people, resulted in their Justification of life.

Rom 5:18

18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

:rolleyes: ... the Lord Jesus Christ died for the whole world ... all descendants of Adam:

John 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

2 Corinthians 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

1 John 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
.
Justification is a free gift to all whom Christ died ! Rom 5:18

18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

Justification before God is before Faith/Believing because non imputation of sin is before Faith/Believing. 2 Cor 5:19

19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

Rom 4:8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

Now how does this equate to Justification ? Because Non imputation of sin is equivalen to imputation of righteousness.

How so ? Paul in Rom 4:6 borrowed from David back in Ps 32 and Paul wrote

6 Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,

Because David wrote Rom 4:7-8

7 Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.

8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

Now here is Davids version Ps 32:1-2

Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.

2 Blessed is the man unto whom the Lord imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.

Notice David says nothing about " God imputeth righteousness without works" However the Holy Spirit interpret what David means through Paul, that the non imputing of sin equates to the imputation of righteousness without works.

So God was in Christ performing the non imputation of sin for a world of people, before they believed. Hence they were Justified by Christs Righteousness before they believed. 40

19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
The word "reconciling" in 2 Cor 5:19 is translated from the Greek word katallássō which means decisively change, as when two parties reconcile when coming ("changing") to the same position.

God (the Party of the first part) established His eternal purpose in eternity past ... and He reconciled Himself to mankind through the death of His Son.

The believer (the party of the second part) is reconciled at the time he/she believes. At that point, both parties (God and the believer) came to the same position (both God and the person are reconciled ... i.e. Greek katallássō).

Those who reject God even as He reaches out to them are not reconciled to God ... not because God has not made provision for them, but because they reject that which God has provided for them to be reconciled to God.

The Lord Jesus Christ is the reconciliation ... there is no other way.

Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is reconciliation to God.

If a person rejects the Lord Jesus Christ ... who is the Way, the Truth, the Life ... there is no reconciliation with God because the party of the second part is not in agreement with God (the Party of the first part).

:rolleyes: ... wrong. Since, according to you, "Non imputation of sin is equivalen to imputation of righteousness", then we would not have any OT records which reveal the judgment of God on those who, according to you, did not have sin imputed to them and/or they had righteousness imputed to them.

In the case of Noah ... the whole world would have been saved ... however only Noah and his family were saved when judgment came because by faith Noah (Heb 11:7).

In the case of Moses ... by faith his parents were not afraid of the king's commandment (Heb 11:23) and by faith Moses refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, choosing rather to suffer affliction ... than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season... esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches (Heb 11:24-26). And we know who escaped the judgment upon Egypt.

In the case of Rahab ... by faith Rahab perished not when the walls of Jericho fell down (Heb 11:30-31). Rahab married Salmon and is the great-great-great grandmother of David.

nope ... Paul wrote the letter to the Romans. As Paul was a pharisee of the pharisees, he was very knowledgeable of OT writings and Paul quoted what David wrote in the Psalms. Paul quoted from many OT writings.

Justified by Grace then made Heirs experientially !

Titus 3:7

7That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

What Paul is saying, is that by Christ death, which was by the Grace of God Heb 2:9, those Christ died for were made Righteous or Justified Rom 5:19

19For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience [Death Heb 2:9] of one shall many be made righteous.

Now as a result of this, those ones He tasted death for shall be made experientially Heirs according to the Hope of Eternal life, which was promised them Titus 1:2

In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;

Notice how Paul used the phrase Twice in this epistle " Hope of Eternal life" !

But because we are freely by the Grace of God Justified, made Righteous Legally, God must now through the application work of the Holy Spirit make us Heirs experientially.

Notice Paul says right after stating that we are Justified by His Grace " we should be made "according to the hope of Eternal life.

The word made is the greek word ginomai and means:

to become, i.e. to come into existence, begin to be, receive being

2) to become, i.e. to come to pass, happen

What this means, is that we should now receive New Life, to become a New Creation, a New Man as in Eph 4:24

And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

This New Man is created ktizō:

to create

a) of God creating the worlds

b) to form, shape, i.e. to completely change or transform

And so that's what God does for all who are Legally Justified by the Grace of God, He makes them Heirs experimentally by giving them New Being, New Existence, a Existence that prepares them for Eternal Life in Glory.

We are made meet Col 1:12

12Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:

Eternal Life is an Inheritance, and its bequeathed upon all the Heirs of Promise, the Children of Promise.

So those freely Justified by Grace, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus Rom 3:24 which is to say His Blood Eph 1:7, they will be given a New Life corresponding to what they are, Heirs of the Kingdom , which is Eternal life. 40

Justified by the Faith of Jesus Christ !

Gal 2:16

Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

We are justified by the faith of Christ, not by our faith in Christ, but by the faith and faithful obedience of Christ himself unto death as our Surety. Rom 5:19

19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

His obedience here does imply His faithfulness, adherence to His Covenant engagement, this obedience/faitfulness results in many being made righteous, or Justified. So we are first and foremost Justified by the faithfulness of Christ as stated in Gal 2:16 !

When we understand that we are Justified before God by Christs faithful obedience, the faith of Christ, then we avoid the pitfall that has snared many, that is, if we are Justified before God because of our faith, whether it be natural faith, or regenerated faith, then we make Justification before God to be by what we do, instead of by what Christ did. To propose, or indicate in any means that our works, or even our faith/believing, had anything at all to do with making us righteous before God for justification is to deny the Gospel of Gods Grace entirely.

Titus 3:7

7That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

What Paul is saying, is that by Christ death, which was by the Grace of God Heb 2:9, those Christ died for were made Righteous or Justified
:rolleyes: ... when you read the verse in context, brightfame52, you will see what "Paul is saying":

Paul left Titus in Crete. Titus was instructed to set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city (Titus 1:5). Paul then gave instruction concerning elders in the church, the sound doctrine the elders were to teach (Titus 2:1 – 3:11).

The verse you refer to (Titus 3:7) is toward the end of Paul's letter to Titus:

Titus 3:

1 Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work,

2 To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.

3 For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.

Paul told Titus to remind born again believers of those things written in vss 1-3. Paul then continued ...

4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,

5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;

7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

8 This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.

Because the born again one (vs 5) is justified by His grace and the born again one is made heirs according to the hope of eternal life (vs 7) ... Paul instructs Titus to affirm constantly that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable.

That is what Paul wanted Titus to have the elders in every city teach.

read the verse from the Amplified version, brightfame52:

Amplified: Yet we know that a man is justified or reckoned righteous and in right standing with God not by works of the Law, but [only] through faith and [absolute] reliance on and adherence to and trust in Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One). [Therefore] even we [ourselves] have believed on Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the Law [for we cannot be justified by any observance of the ritual of the Law given by Moses], because by keeping legal rituals and by works no human being can ever be justified (declared righteous and put in right standing with God).

brightfame52 said:

Romans 5:19 and Galatians 2:16 do not negate what is written in Romans 4:20 –5:1:

Romans 4:

20 He [Abraham] staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;

21 And being fully persuaded that, what he [God] had promised, he [God] was able also to perform.

22 And therefore it was imputed to him [Abraham] for righteousness.

23 Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it [righteousness]was imputed to him;

24 But for us also, to whom it [righteousness] shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;

25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus

Now read Romans 5:19 and Galatians 2:16 while keeping in mind what is written in Romans 4:20 – 5:1.

And for goodness sake, quit ripping verses from the context within which the Author of Scripture has placed them. God tells us what He wants us to know about the verse and there's no need for you to explain the verses in an alternate context of your own choosing.

If God wanted us to understand Galatians 2:16 and Romans 5:19 as you have stated, He would have told Paul. What God did not tell Paul to write is what you claim in your post 4391.

if we are Justified before God because of our faith, whether it be natural faith, or regenerated faith
Right there you tell us that you do not understand faith.

There is no "natural faith" ... there is no "regenerated faith". God's Word tells us there is one faith (Eph 4:5). Period.

All men have faith. the question is not "do you have faith?"

The question is "in what ... better in Whom ... do you have faith?"

If we have faith in a lie, that does us no good.

The atheist places his/her faith in the fact that there is no God. And the atheist will suffer the consequence of having faith in this lie.

The polytheist places his/her faith in the fact that there are many gods and goddesses. Again, those who do so will suffer the consequence of having faith in this lie.

The believer places his/her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

Here is what God tells us will occur in the latter times:

2 Thessalonians 2:

11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

vs 11 – they "believe a lie" because they have faith? they believe a lie with the same faith the believer believes the truth.

vs 12 – they are condemned because they did not believe the truth ... they prefer the pleasure of sin and enjoy the earthly moment rather than believe the truth and enjoy the eternity God has prepared for those who love Him.

now we've just got to get you to the point where you agree that to be justified by faith (Rom 5:1) is in alignment with Scripture and you'll understand that to be justified by faith does not deny the gospel.

Those who Christ died for cannot be condemned ! Because He was raised again for their Justification Rom 4:25

25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

Also Rom 8:33-34

33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.

34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again[for our Justification], who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. 41

Romans 5:19 and Galatians 2:16 do not negate what is written in Romans 4:20 –5:1:

Romans 4:

20 He [Abraham] staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;

21 And being fully persuaded that, what he [God] had promised, he [God] was able also to perform.

22 And therefore it was imputed to him [Abraham] for righteousness.

23 Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it [righteousness]was imputed to him;

24 But for us also, to whom it [righteousness] shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;

12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

vs 11 – they "believe a lie" because they have faith? they believe a lie with the same faith the believer believes the truth.

vs 12 – they are condemned because they did not believe the truth ... they prefer the pleasure of sin and enjoy the earthly moment rather than believe the truth and enjoy the eternity God has prepared for those who love Him.

well ... it appears you're finally in agreement that faith is not works.

now we've just got to get you to the point where you agree that to be justified by faith (Rom 5:1) is in alignment with Scripture and you'll understand that to be justified by faith does not deny the gospel.

Those who Christ died for cannot be condemned !

:rolleyes: ... more contextually illiterate musings from the one who thinks he understands what the Author of Scripture wants us to know ...
