It seems to me that Christ tells us to give our life to Him, and that is salvation. You can sit on a hill looking down on all other people and committing what Christ told us is the same as murder, yet declare over and over that Christ saves, and that way give up your salvation.
Scripture tells us the message of Christ was repent, the kingdom of God is near. We say that message was to come to Christ for salvation. Living in the earth as strangers, with our real home with the Lord, includes going to Christ with faith in all of Christ. It includes living for Christ as listening to Christ with faith in what we are told by Him.
amen there is no salvation that doesn’t include what Jesus said about salvation and indeed salvation means we’re living for Jesus not ourself
“For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.”
2 Corinthians 5:14-15 KJV
it shows how secure false doctrine makes people the argument you run into in threads like this ends up bieng salvstion doesn’t come like Jesus said it does. At the point we have to deny what he said will save us , it’s because we don’t want to hear it
“And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.”
John 3:19-21 KJV
after spending time in the gospel it’s impossible to not hear the call to repentance and right living but when we do some folks don’t want that type of salvstion they prefer the darkness rather than the light of truth
“Hearken unto me, my people; and give ear unto me, O my nation: for a law shall proceed from me, and I will make my judgment to rest for a light of the people. My righteousness is near; my salvation is gone forth, and mine arms shall judge the people; the isles shall wait upon me, and on mine arm shall they trust.”
Isaiah 51:4-5
we have to come into that light of his word to have our sins brought to light and remitted through repentance
“If we say that we have fellowship with him, and
walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
But
if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.”
1 John 1:6-10 KJV
Our part is to walk in the light of his judgement and let the word fix our hearts
