Absolutely..cant as for forgiveness if you werent convicted of your sin inwardly..this conviction via Holy Spirit...
Amen! I love the following paraphrase. What do you think of it?

My little children (born ones), I am writing these things to you (or: for you) to the end that you may not fail to hit the target (deviate from the goal; sin). And if anyone should at some point fail (or: suddenly commit sin, make a mistake or deviate), we constantly have One called alongside to help, give relief and guide us toward the Father (or: we continuously possess a Paraclete, face to face with the Father): Jesus Christ, [the] One in accord with the Way pointed out (or: a Just One; [the] Righteous One; [the] Fair One who is in right relationship with all; a Rightwised One; [the] right one; a Person that is turned in the right direction).
(1Jn 2:1 JMNT)

AMEN to your comment...

“All this I have spoken while still with you. 26 But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Nice!
Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. The Helper towards the Father, Jesus Christ the Righteous.

Amen! But I am sure we will not always agree. So when and if, we can still love. Without that; we are without HIM.

Ive learned that everyones "walk" and relationship with God is different so we cant DICTATE our own beliefs and convictions on someone else..they might not be at the same spiritual maturity as someone else etc...that turns people away and looks like judgement..i have to watch myself on this when i get in a passionate heated discussion about Jesus...its not our job to try and persuade people to Jesus.mits our job to TELL them bout Jesus...what Hes done in our lives and how they can accept Him as Lord and King of thiers...planting seeds..

The Rev. Jim Jones would have loved to have you in his congregation.
Please by all means tell your Pastor how you feel about him. If he does not correct you, please invite him to become a member here. I would love to talk to him.
my pastor wouldn't waste his time coming here and casting his pearls before swine. He's too busy serving the Lord

Nope, my pastor tells us not to trust him. He tells us to trust the Lord and His Word the Holy Bible. I listen and learn a lot from my pastor, and I obey him when he advises us to search the scriptures to see if the things he preaches are Biblical and true

Good for iron to sharpen iron..but other peoples "understanding" might not be where yours is and thats where GOD has to work in thier lives...

Or our understanding might not be where others are. Many teach but there are not many teachers.

GOD is good! But no man gets the credit. Not I but Christ. No one should care what any pastor says. As soon as they start talking or any for that matter all is lost.

Scripture is strangely silent in regards to pastors. Hardly any mention at all actually. Elders and deacons however....

But some walks and relationships are not with the Father we think. By our fruits we shall be known and know. But even in that only GOD knows; for it is HE that works in us both to will and do HIS good pleasure!
