Why do you pick a few verses from Paul's letter to the Romans (written in archaic Englyshe) to prove doctrine?

There are very few instances where people were/are baptized in water in private.

Read Matthew 3, Mark 1, Luke 3, John 3, Acts 1, Acts 2, Acts 8, Romans 6, 1 Corinthians 1, and 1 Corinthians 15, Galatians 3. All these "books" refer to public baptism.

Additionally, Romans 6 refers to being baptized in the Holy Spirit.

And what's with the olde Englyshe and the unscriptural numbers?
The accounts of private baptism, few as they may be, show it's purpose is more than a public display.

Romans 6 points:
Being baptized into Jesus - water baptism (Acts 2:38, Gal 3:27, 1 Cor. 12:13, Col 2:11-13)
Being buried with Jesus - picture of water baptism by immersion
Sins are destroyed - as expressed in message first presented at Pentecost (Acts 2:36-38) And explained to Paul by Ananias. (Acts 22:16)

I personally don't know how it is relevant to the conversation, but I prefer using the King James Version bible. And, as to the verse numbering many software programs include them as they're helpful in pinpointing specific aspects of the context.

a) Water baptism is a symbolic act of burial and (most of the time) resurrection into a new life.
b) If baptism is for "remission of sin", then why did all the people that John baptized in the Jordan need Jesus?
c) What difference does it make if people witness a person's baptism or not? Most of the time, From the Bible era up to the present, most baptisms are witnessed by multiple people.
John introduced water baptism that was later modified. After Jesus' resurrection, water baptism in the name of Jesus for remission of sin was begun. Jesus prophesied of it in Luke 24:47. And the record in Acts 19:1-6 revealed it's significance. Those previously water baptized by John had to be rebaptized in water in the name of the Lord Jesus.

You are the one that stated water baptism was done as a public display. I contend that it's purpose is for remission of sin made possible for all by the sacrifice of Jesus as the bible reveals. It is one essential element of the NT rebirth.

Jesus did say unless a man is born again he cannot SEE the kingdom of God. And unless he is born of water and Spirit he cannot ENTER the kingdom. John 3:3-5
So true buddy, but if your talking to people who haven't been baptised, it will not make a difference, and I believe you are talking to such people.

They won't say as much.

There in a condition where they believe they don't need to be baptised, and as some put it here, it doesn't meant spit to them.

The bible tells us such people have saved themselves.

But you know buddy I believe being born of water and spirit bot represent the same spiritual meaning to.

I believe being baptised is so you enter into his covenant

b) If baptism is for "remission of sin", then why did all the people that John baptized in the Jordan need Jesus?
Your question should read: If John's baptism is for "remission of sin", then why did all the people that John baptized in the Jordan need Jesus baptism?

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent (John's baptism was a baptism unto repentance) , and be baptized (baptism in water) every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost (This is the other baptism John talked about above. Holy Ghost and Fire (always accompanied by Speaking in Tongues).

The phrase "for the remission of sins" connects both the acts of repentance and baptism to the forgiveness of sins. While John's baptism symbolizes repentance and the desire for forgiveness, Christian baptism in Jesus' name actualizes that forgiveness through the work of Christ. It signifies the washing away of sins (Acts 22:16) and the believer's new life in Christ.

While John's baptism was essential for its time, pointing to the need for repentance and moral reformation, it could not impart the Holy Spirit or fully incorporate individuals into the redemptive work of Christ. Jesus' baptism, as experienced by the believers at Pentecost (Speaking in Tongues Baptism of the Holy Ghost and Fire that John talked about) and subsequent converts, represents the fulfillment of God's promises and the means through which believers are reborn into a living, dynamic relationship with God through Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit.

c) What difference does it make if people witness a person's baptism or not?
If a baptism occurs without witnesses, it does not invalidate the baptism or diminish its spiritual significance for the individual being baptized. The efficacy of baptism is not dependent on the presence of witnesses but on the faith of the individual and the grace of God. Besides that there are always two witnesses even if no one else is around. Baptizer and baptizee.

Consider no witnesses in Paul's case. (Acts 22:16) The jailer and his family baptized at midnight; I assume no one was around to witness it.
Er no, Paul and those with him were the ones that took them out to be baptized.

No where in scripture do we see people baptizing themselves.

This thread is not for me but I hope you find the answers you are looking for, dear.
Why is this thread not for you.

Is it because of all the narky comments.

Or because you have a view about water baptism, that are in disagreement with what's being said.

It's should be a very important subject, is how I feel,

But what is your feeling on the importance of being baptised.

Have you been baptised

Just because the OP asked very nicely for replies to come from people invested in this issue. I hope I didn't offend by taking up space with my offtopic comments but I wanted to show allyship. I won't reply any more here.

Re the OP. The answer is... the same result whether you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior or you haven't.

what contribution have you made, other than saying you don't want to make one.

What would be your contribution if you had to make one.

Have you been baptised. It's a simple question I'm asking.

If you've been baptised, it shouldnt be difficult to answer, I'm sure you understand the importance of sharing your faith and your heart.

Can you answer if you've been baptised.

This is a thread for people who believe water baptism is required for salvation, if you aren't that type of person, then obviously you don't need to answer this question, as I know you will just say the man is saved, as water isnt required.

Hypothetical situations that are often brought up by people to argue against baptismal regeneration are:

1. What about someone who is ill, about to die, cries out to God, asks Jesus to save them, will they die lost because they didn't have enough time to get baptized?

2. What about someone who is on a stranded island and has no one to baptize him, dies there, will he die lost?

In my opinion both of these arguments deserve a proper response, which is why I am making this thread. Give me your case, you who believe baptism in water is required for salvation.

PS I hope this thread isnt gonna turn into 50 responses and 0 answers and everyone just saying "Its not required for salvation because of such and such." I get it, I know the arguments both ways, but im just asking our baptismal regeneration people here to answer these. Thank you for understanding.

Yes. I have been baptized in water and baptized in the Holy Spirit. Why do you ask?
I can't understand why people argue why baptism doesn't do anything,.from people who say they been baptised.

I can understand people saying baptism is not needed because they have yet to be baptised, and they feel it's not necessary, based on what they've been told.

But according to scripture it's absolutely necessary.

But those that have opportunity to get baptized and refuse to do so are being disobedient to the Lord's command

The afterlife for this will be quite warm and very unpleasant!

Yeah but so what. Water baptism is the right thing to do and is important so the Devil doesn’t make you doubt later on.
