Yes the Bible speaks it is the living Word of God. I John 1 you learn the Word is Jesus Himself also of God. The Bible is the Word of God as the OT being fulfilled through Jesus and the NT being inspired by the Spirit of God.
How many of the disciples of Jesus carried around a bible with them?

I see it in the realm of motive. I spent a few years training in MMA Okinawan karate and had time in fighting others during training. It was never about anger, hate, or anything but the challenge or to test what you learned. Like any extreme sport you could get extremely hurt but that was mostly on how far you wanted to go. If you wanted to risk a arm dislocation then don't tap out. If you wanted to risk a knock out then keep going after your body is telling you to stop.

The organization itself may be corrupt idk as in allowing people to fight even after a brain injury and that is awful but the sport itself with anything it is all about motive.

Football is all about tackling the other individuals and some of those men are 300+ pounds. Too many brain injuries have occurred in football but Americans love it.

The NFL is corrupt but should the sport itself be considered immoral? Just like MMA? You said you would watch it to learn self defense. Why is that bad? That is often how we learn by watching real fights. As in text book techniques are often not as easy to pull off in the real world. But see that was my motive as well, self defense and the best way to learn was to fight within the regulations of a ring. Way safer than playing Batman.
Good arguments sir! :D

As I think about Christ, and that we are to Love one another as Christ Loved us (He died for us), something in my bones struggles with these guys beating each other's brains out. People kicking each other in the face seems the opposite of all things Jesus.
What is barbaric is not Christian, so why could any Christian spend time watching this?

Also my motive is not to persuade you either or but to simply offer another perspective. I respect any decision based on holiness in one's life.
I appreciate perspective. My decision has been made and I've acted upon it. While I work, I listen to and at times watch MMA YouTube videos and the swearing is just off the charts. The "Jesus Christ" and "Gxx Dxxn" quotes crush my heart. I really don't want to be involved with anyone, in a close way if my Savior is being so completely disregarded in that way. Jesus is the focus of my life, and while I realize that others don't realize what they saying, and probably don't even know that it's wrong, it breaks my heart.

So on the basis above, I not only have disassociated my YT subscriptions to not only the MMA videos, but even to others where awful language is used. Amazingly, I subscribed to a drummer's channel (I'm also a drummer) where he gives "reaction videos." One of those videos was over the drummer in a song called "I gotta work sxxt out" or something close to it. So while this Christian posts these videos, I just can't understand why he would promote a band with such ridiculous language. Bye-bye Josh Crawford!

The disciples and Jesus Himself spent time at their local synagogues learning the scrolls of the OT. They carried these words from the scrolls in oral and memory. The NT came from eye witness accounts of Jesus's ministry and then the letters of the apostles that was in direct contact with Jesus at some point in their life.

My question is not rather you carry a Bible but how you view the Bible is extremely important and a core belief to Christianity.

I work a blue collar job so swearing is all around me. I don't swear but I have gotten to the point I just hear what they are trying to say behind the swear words. I also understand it is their way without knowing better words to relay their feelings. So I tend be graceful in their presence. I do not feed it but allow it so people will share the actual problem. Some people who are closer to me will show me respect and not curse in my presence but I never asked them to do that nor told them it bothered me. The only words that will bother me is the God d**g word or in context if they are talking about others then I'll usually walk away or tell them let's change subjects.

I am exact, I mean the exact same way. I don't tell others that it bothers me, however, I told my last girlfriend of years ago. Even to this day, I limit my relationship with her because she refused to show honor regarding the "Jesus Christ" comments. Incredibly, she used that against me by using the phrase more, and more, and more. When it comes to relationships, and it appears that I am done with them (per the teaching of Paul), we have to draw the line right there. It makes no sense to pursue a marriage relationship with someone who cannot control their tongue.

I am not a Christian. We need not a bible to teach us for the anointing within us teaches us
and guides us into all truth.
