Was the back covered in the list of armor that Paul gave in Eph 6?
I would offer. . No armor for the rear. Unless we forget who power the armor is of. In that way He is the rear guard protecting the weak and frail. He is also the light unto our feet the leading light. His love hems us in

There is a excellent parable in the old testament using clouds to signify the presence of God. They were used either to vail the light or reveal the light so his people could walk in it.

In that parable, the morning watch when light appeared . It was to late for the enemy the waters returned .

Exusdus 14 :19-31 And the angel of God, which went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before their face, and stood behind them: And it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel; and it was a cloud and darkness to them, but it gave light by night to these: so that the one came not near the other all the night. And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, (the good foundation soil of faith) and the waters were divided. And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left. And the Egyptians pursued, and went in after them to the midst of the sea, even all Pharaoh's horses, his chariots, and his horsemen. And it came to pass, that in the morning watch the Lord looked unto the host of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and of the cloud, and troubled the host of the Egyptians, And took off their chariot wheels, that they drave them heavily: so that the Egyptians said, Let us flee from the face of Israel; for the Lord fighteth for them against the Egyptians. And the Lord said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the sea, that the waters may come again upon the Egyptians, upon their chariots, and upon their horsemen. And Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to his strength when the morning appeared; and the Egyptians fled against it; and the Lord overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea.And the waters returned, and covered the chariots, and the horsemen, and all the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them; there remained not so much as one of them. But the children of Israel walked upon dry land in the midst of the sea; and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left. Thus the Lord saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians; and Israel saw the Egyptians dead upon the sea shore. And Israel saw that great work which the Lord did upon the Egyptians: and the people feared the Lord, and believed the Lord, and his servant Moses.

Moses on a mountain top experience asked God to reveal his foreknowledge (See face) . God placed him in the cleft of a Rock to signify Christ covering as a cloud the light of His glory until it passed by Moses Lifted his hand as the cloud of his presence and declared. . in effect. . . Moses you can see the results of my work but faith, the plan for the future even five minutes from now no man can see. No armor for the backside.

Exodus 33:22-23 King James Version (KJV)
And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by: And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen.

We see the backside as his light leads us .

lots of info

you didn't upset anyone . all my fault
it's OK, i know i just hopped into the middle of a thread without having read from the beginning. i do that a lot and have zero context in the conversation lol! i saw someone had upset you, later, and that you were apologizing for being edgy. i understand that and it's really great that you were saying so, it shows love :)
i saw it on the 'what's new' while i was walking on my way to go home; i had the hardest time trying to post that video on my phone!
i watch that guy's channel a lot; i have been studying historical medieval swordfighting for several years and he's one of a handful of people on youtube regularly making videos related to that sort of thing. the one i put is about 6 years old, but if you poke around in his youtube he's put out a lot of really interesting content about Roman armament. i saw you were saying you were learning about it now and i thought you'd enjoy his content :)

Besides what was already stated, we should not have our back to the enemy but meet straightforward. The point being that we've done all to stand.
It would be hard not to have your back to the enemy if the enemy has surrounded you. Glad to have you onboard with us. Welcome to CC.

that's nice of you re the video. I will check around on his channel. what always strikes me, is how much the rest of the world speaks English plus their mother tongue.

I always had an interest in fencing..worlds away from Roman armament. my parents were not up for fencing lessons though and not about to start now. ;)

The point of that passage was to use the tools God has provided, or truth, righteousness, the word, etc... To protect yourself from the attacks of Satan. Not actually square inches of flesh covered by armour.

Not simply tools to use, but the transformation available to who you are through Christ Jesus making you battle ready. Making you into the person that God is with because God is within and throughout.
