Unanswered Prayer. Luke 4:3

Well the standard answer for prayer is that God's response is a) yes, b) no or c) wait. If he answers straight away or soon we know it to be yes. If he doesn't answer we are stuck on whether the answer is no or wait. So we wait awhile often for a long time and then assume the answer is no. My thoughts are sometimes God has already given us things but we are not believing it so we are continually asking him for things he has already given us. I am learning this myself at the moment.

Kind of like how you prayed over me to have the gift of tongues and I didn't speak in tongues as other tongue users do but later found that I had the gift all along and he had been using me in it all along I just didn't realize it?

I know he uses me in the inner healing of others but as far as physcial healing every person I prayed for never recieved it and I know these people so I know they didn't. But you know I also kind of thought maybe it isn't a matter of if I will recieve it but when because like I said it is the one gift that aligns with my personality and my heart perfectly and my desire for the gift isn't for myself in fact if I cannot ever be healed or even if I have to suffer greatly just to have it so others won't have to suffer then I am more than willing.

I said to him a bit ago I highly doubt he would give me such a heart and such a strong desire for the gift merely for the sake of others if it wasn't something he intended to use

But that is just it though, daily I offer him my willingness because honestly I have nothing else to give him, I am not strong or wise I am certainly not holy by any means and I tell him this but I go one to say Though I may be lacking in all of this I do have my willingness so use my willingness for anything you desire no matter how big or small easy or hard.

He has used me in every other gift at one point or another but this one however I cannot seem to be used in.

When I have been used for any healing or other miracle, it has always come to me by the Holy Spirit, though I do recall a time when I asked and our Father willed it. I actually received "instructions" by the Holy Spirit though not in words, in understanding the mission only. Another time was different but it was all God doing all, and all glory is His of course.
You are willing and availing yourself, the Father knows this, so in that manner you are serving Him in waiting....

In the book "Prayer Can Change Your Life" by Parker there is a report of a scientific test of methods of healing problems including two types of prayer. It gives the results.

Prayer done half an hour a day by Christians was the looser, but prayer using the scriptures to guide to the method of prayer won over psychiatry.

The effective prayers did not repeat over and over their requests, they accepted that God knew their needs. They concentrated on clearing the barriers between them and God that their sin was. The most important barrier discussed was resentment of others, especially of their flesh and blood.

What kind of prayer do you think is asking amiss? What do you think the Lord means by “consuming it on our lusts”?

Luke 4:3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

I assume it means the person is not genuinely asking and just cares about themselves and not God, if things are inline with Gods will he is more able and willing to grant the desire.
