The verse I provided said to love with ALL of your Soul and ALL of your mind. That separates the 2 and makes them not the same. ALL specifies 2 completion actions and ALL means there is no more or nothing else attached so it is 2 separate functions. So no matter how much you want to be right, Jesus' own quote proves you are not!

Indeed!
But I promise you that no matter what you claim, or what someone else has claimed and you have chosen to use, I like with Jesus said GOD is a SPIRIT:, am going to go with JESUS specifying that ALL your Soul and ALL your mind are two completely different functions.

Ok good. Because I read the verse carefully like you asked. And I typed this out because I read your comment carefully. Now its your turn to pay close attention:

Jesus’ point is that they must love God with their entire being and with all their faculties, with all that one is and has. Love for God must govern our emotions, guide our thoughts, and be the dynamic of all we do. Just like my illustration, these three categories overlap and are not mutually exclusive. The heart refers to the innermost center of one’s being, the soul is the life force that energizes a person, and the mind is the faculty of thinking and planning . The heart is the core of a person’s existence and the source of his/her thoughts and actions; the soul is probably to be understood as the seat of emotional activity, and the mind is the source of mental activity, disposition, and attitudes . The heart is the whole of the inner sphere and source of conscience, the soul is the capacity to feel and desire, and the mind encompasses the powers of thought and volition. The heart is the center of personality, within which the soul and mind dwell and function; the soul is consciousness and the life that animates the body, and the mind is reason with its functions of thoughts, ideas, and convictions.
Jesus did not express soul and mind as mutually exclusive.

This is the very same point I made when I claimed, we DISCERN by our SPIRIT if something is good/evil and then the MIND reasons and formats a knowledge. How come you buy what you posted but not what I said in shorthand WHEN THEY BOTH SAY THE SAME THING?

And no matter how it took you to see my original point, it is still TWO SEPARATE FUNCTIONS by TWO SEPARATE MECHANISMS of the human body!

And YES, the Heart, Soul, Mind, and Strength are all different from one another, but ALL still work for the purpose of the human body.

How can Jesus be God, the Spirit be God and the Father be God?
7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

8 And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.

Yep trinity

...as God explains it in 1 in 5

I was merely making a point that we could live by just having a mind and body. Just like the animals. I was pointing out the soul is only for Spiritual purposes. It's our Soul that moves on after death, not our mind or body.
What for? We would just be a lifeless, mass of flesh then...for without the spirit, the body is dead...it does nothing, and without the body, the spirit, within a person, can not be made manifest...

Its spirit, soul and body . The heart is seat of emotion between the mind and the soul. . the will or work of faith

1 Thessalonians 5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

And since we as sons of God in these bodies of death . We are not that which we will be when we receive our new incorruptible body . We know its not our corruptible bodies that are preserved blameless they claim blameful and return to the dust

I agree, and I consider a human as 3 parts. But someone brought up the Shema, which states "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and with all your strength. He was pointing out that there were 4 parts not 3.
So I explained that the mind is part of the soul by using this illustration:

"If I said "legs and feet".....you would understand that those two terms overlap and are not mutually exclusive.
Because the feet are technically part of the legs, but as an extension of the legs, the feet are distinguishable. "

You'll have to read back as far as post #424 and read everything said between biker and I to understand why I went into that. In conclusion, I consider us 3-in-1 beings, just as God is.

This is the "best answer" to what I have been saying:

What is the difference between Mind and Soul? • Soul is ‘the spiritual or immaterial part of a human being or animal, regarded as immortal.’ • Mind is ‘the element of a person that enables them to be aware of the world and their experiences, to think, and to feel.’ • Soul is distinct from the body whereas mind is within the body.

Therefore, the Shema is Jesus showing the different parts that are not the same, but ALL part of our human body.

According to the Tanakh, there is no Joel 2:28. but there is a Joel 2:27 and that verse clarifies who God is:

27 And you shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and I am the Lord your God, there is no other; and My people shall never be ashamed.

a man died and went to heaven. he saw Jesus and God the father. then he saw jesus enter into the father. and at that time they were united into one god. then a little wile later, Jesus came back out of the father and was once again separate from the father. this explains John 1:1 where it says 'in the beginning was the word, the word was WITH God and the word WAS god!' the bible is just telling the different states of Jesus and the fathers existence. at times jesus and the father are united together into one god. at other times Jesus and the father are 2 separate beings. the same can be said about the holy spirit's existence with jesus and God the father.
So in this way we see how the trinity operates with each other.

we are created in gods image: therefore we also are a triune being. 1. we are a soul. 2. we live in a body. 3. we have a spirit. when we die, our soul and spirit will seperate from our body and go to either heaven or hell! some people have out of body experiences now. that means that there are times when these people soul and body separate from each other.

The doctrine of the trinity is simply this: there are three seperate individuals mentioned in the bible. all three of them are called god. yet the bible also says that there is only one God. and yes there are times when the three are united together as the one God. there are other times when these three seperate from each other to do certain tasks. like when jesus seperated from god the father to take human form and die on a cross for our sins. and when jesus went back to the father and sent the holy spirit to us to empower us to walk the with god in a way that pleases God. To give us new life, and make us a new creation. etc.

I hope that this helps to clear up your haze on the subject.

David
The Rich Man and Lazarus
19 “There was a certain rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and fared sumptuously every day. 20 But there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, full of sores, who was laid at his gate, 21 desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table. Moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. 22 So it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels to Abraham’s bosom. The rich man also died and was buried. 23 And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

24 “Then he cried and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.’ 25 But Abraham said, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted and you are tormented. 26 And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, so that those who want to pass from here to you cannot, nor can those from there pass to us.’

27 “Then he said, ‘I beg you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father’s house, 28 for I have five brothers, that he may testify to them, lest they also come to this place of torment.’ 29 Abraham said to him, ‘They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.’ 30 And he said, ‘No, father Abraham; but if one goes to them from the dead, they will repent.’ 31 But he said to him, ‘If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead.’ ”

@bikerSo back to my question:
Do you deny that knowledge resides in the soul?

The soul is what connects us to God, it's what is actually eternal about us. The Soul is where the Gifts of Holy Spirit are active at. But it does not mean the soul is anything more if we denied God and lived without the Holy Spirit.

I did respond to post #494. There is no Joel 2:28 in the Tanakh. If there is one in the KJV then there is an issue!
