Only discord on this site usually occurs in the BDF. Of course, there are some that would consider this discord to be healthy dialog in the discussion of the topic at hand and the current flow of the conversation.

Let's face it, the best forum here is the Singles Forum. They are the coolest and the happiest and they never fight over there. Maybe us old married folks are just looking for someone to argue with. Misery loves company they say. :p

"The Arguing Thread." They could go there, though I'm sure they would disagree!

INTERPERTATION VS BELIEF,,,,aka acceptance.

I found in the KJV ( which I use and adore ) only 8, [eight],scriptures USING the word interpret !

The instances in Genesis and 1 Corinthians are about dreams and congregational messages in tongues.

This one however:
Ecc.1:1
The Prologue of the Wisdom of Jesus the Son of Sirach.
Whereas MANY and great things have been delivered unto us by the law and the prophets, and by others that have followed their steps, for the which things Isreal ought to be commended for LEARNING and WISDOM; and whereof not only the readers must needs become skillful themselves, but also THEY THAT DESIRE TO LEARN and BE ABLE TO PROFIT THEM WHICH ARE.....WITHOUT, both by speaking and writing: my grandfather Jesus ( David) when he had much given to the reading of the law,and the prophets, and other books of our fathers, and had gotten therein good judgment, was drawn on also himself to write something pertaining to LEARNING and WISDOM; ( Psalms) to the intent that THOSE DISIROUS TO LEARN , and are Addicted to these things, might profit more in LIVING ACCORDING TO THE LAW.
Wherefore let me interest you to READ IT WITH FAVOUR and ATTENTION,and to pardon ( forgive, show mercy )us,wherein we may seem to COME SHORT OF SOME WORDS,which we have laboured to .......INTERPRET.
For the same things uttered in Hebrew, and TRANSLATED into another tongue, have NOT the same force in them: and not only these things, but the law itself, and the prophets, and the rest of the books, have no small difference, when they are spoken in their own language.
For in the eight and thirtieth year coming into Egypt, when Euergetes was king, and continuing there some time,I found a book of no small learning: therefore I thought it most necessary for me to bestow some diligence and travail to INTERPRET it.........................................ALL wisdom cometh from the Lord, and is with him forever. The WHOLE chapter is wonderful and should be read and reread by all v30.....

1 instance of the word TRANSLATE 2 Sam.3:10.
131 instances of believe
John 5: 45-47
Do not think that I will accuse you to Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom he trust.
For had he believed Moses,he would have believed me: for he wrote of me.
But if he believe not his writings, how small he believe my words.
John3: 12 If I have told you earthly things, and he believed not, HOW small he BELIEVE, if I tell you of heavenly things?

Too many on believing ( accept some thing that is true, feel sure of the TRUTH of) or accepting ( consent to receive).
Interpret. Explain the meaning of words or actions.
( yes I know this can go gazillions of ways).

Sooo the lead in is where do we think in ourselves we have to interpert the word of God instead of accepting what "thus saith the Lord"

Disclaimer: not endorsing we become Juduasers and hold onto the law!

Even though I'm married I enjoy the Singles Forum the most. BDF is a bit of a hostile environment but some of the threads are high entertainment venues.

Really? I am deeply disturbed when the berating and belittling begins. I could care less when it happens to me, but when it does happen to me, I push back not exclusively for myself, but for all others as well. If my character and opinions are being attacked, then it is happening to others . . . and it must stop.

I think that its good to note that when Jesus was attacked, He never fought to defend Himself, but His Father. He seemed to care more for all others than Himself. Not that I am Christ or anything remotely close, but this is my approach as well. I am much more concerned about the well-being of others than I am of myself.

It isn't difficult to be kind . . . unless our Spiritual Father remains the Devil.

Matthew 13:38 NLT - "The field is the world, and the good seed represents the people of the Kingdom. The weeds are the people who belong to the evil one."

Good Seed does not lack Love. It is the weed that lacks kindness, gentleness. It is the weed that creates division and unhappiness in others. Those who enjoy causing others emotional harm and discord . . . those who issue smiley faces when others are hurt . . . these are the "weeds."

You need to be more specific. I don't think you are Judaising, but your words might be taken as such without proper context.
To Judaize is to use the fleshly commands like cutting skin as a way to obey the law. Christ made that obsolete. Christ did not tell us to be disobedient.

The simple steps to live with Christ in your heart are simple--we are to handle sin (spiritual law explains what is sin) by repenting of sin, that means we want to be sin free. Then when we slip up and sin we are forgiven, that sin is forgotten and is no more.

No scripture disagrees with this, it is from Christ--not even the book of Galatians.

This is commendable of yourself and a quality worth emulating.
I believe that it is a standard quality that one has when their Faith is utterly assured, but the Salvation of others is not.

1 Corinthians 9:22 NET - "To the weak I became weak in order to gain the weak. I have become all things to all people, so that by all means I may save some."

This means that we need to defend those who are being attacked. To stand by when a Brother or Sister is being attacked is an abomination. It demonstrates a lack of Faith; an Indwelling Spirit; a genuine relationship with our Powerful, Almighty God.

This "teacher" say that I must do this. That "teacher" says that I must do that.
The Lord said to me, "I'll never leave you nor forsake you."
I've made my choice who I believe.
I am on the road...to my home...in the New Jerusalem! And nobody's gonna stop me! Yeah!
