Luke
9:23 And he said to [them] all, If any [man] will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
9:24 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.
9:25 For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?
9:26 For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and [in his] Father's, and of the holy angels.
Thank you oyster

“And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground;

And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how.

For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself;

first the blade,

then the ear,

after that the full corn in the ear.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭4:26-28

It is the word that does the work in us to bring repentance and act according to Gods will .

“For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2:13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

If we can remain non judgemental about others and share the gospel of the kingdom among one another , we don’t have to worry about being the ones who make others obedient or make others repent so they can belong to him , they already do if they believe his word

whether they end up bearing “ 30 , 60 , or 90 times what was sown. Our part in the world is to share that word and let Jesus do the reparations of the soul of the believer

The abandonment of everything for the sake of Jesus and the Gospel....
would be nice to discuss
The will of God is to love God and love your neighbour as yourself.
You can abandon everything, even your life but if you don't have love, you have nothing.

Just an observation ...i am very thankful for this forum...and I have learnt a lot as to how others think...when I was growing up I wondered why there were so many denominations and yet the message of Christ is One...
let us continue these beautiful discussions .....as Jesus said to those Jews that believed Him...if you continue in my Word then you are truly my disciples....and you shall Know the Truth and the Truth will set you free.....

Psalm 49
1 Hear this, all ye people; give ear, all ye inhabitants of the world:
2 Both low and high, rich and poor, together.
3 My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding.
4 I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon the harp.
5 Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity of my heels shall compass me about?
6 They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;
7 None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:
8 (For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever:)
9 That he should still live for ever, and not see corruption.
10 For he seeth that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others.
11 Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever, and their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands after their own names.
12 Nevertheless man being in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts that perish.
13 This their way is their folly: yet their posterity approve their sayings. Selah.
14 Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall feed on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their beauty shall consume in the grave from their dwelling.
15 But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah.
16 Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased;
17 For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him.
18 Though while he lived he blessed his soul: and men will praise thee, when thou doest well to thyself.
19 He shall go to the generation of his fathers; they shall never see light.
20 Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish.

the same shall save it.

You are arguing against the Words of Christ.

We must surrender all to Him. We need to count the cost. Do you want me to print that verse out for you also?
So that's the gospel?

The will of God is the Law of God.
True...and the Law of God is the instruction to man in the beginning.....as delivered to Moses....in the day you eat thereof......we must believe Moses and the Prophets....everything points to the Law

So that's the gospel?
Jesus said..the words I speak are not my own...rather it is the Father living in me doing His work....John 12.49....hence the instruction of God must be obeyed....it is out of love...which is the first and greatest commandment...you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and soul...

Yes the jews to whom he was speaking to. Now at this point a daft assumption is given " oh so Christians hate God and its ok is it ?" its irrelevant. It was under the law to follow that command.
4¶Hear, O Israel : The LORD our God is one LORD:

5And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

6¶And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:

7And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

8And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.

9And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.

10¶And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?

11¶He answered and said unto them , Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

The mysteries are given . We read them in the bible now . This is how it works. When Jesus spoke those words to the diciples they were then later written down.
