A ninety-one second explanation for you on the seeker sensitive movement :)
Well thank you for the video and reply. So if I understand correctly, or at least by the video maker's brief overview and then criticism of the seeker sensitive movement; they are the liberal type heretics that are in vogue these days giving license to the impure to profane their temples before the sight of God in the name of tolerating Babylon to draw crowds and money?

From what I gather from the video they basically try to bribe people to come to God, I saw video once of an elderly couple who rap to bring young people to Christ but they use the N word and it is just nonesnese, if you want to bring people out of the world you cannot do so by doing things of the world. Ridiculous.

One can hope that in their search for Truth some of these seekers will indeed come to know the embodiment of Truth in the Person of Jesus Christ. We are all, after all, born enemies of God in the natural state, and need to be born again. God promises to reveal Himself to those who seek sincerely and diligently, and His Word will not return void. Rather than looking down on those people because they may not yet be born again, while God has been gracious to us, and reconciled us to Himself by grace through faith in the shed righteous blood of His Son, we ought to give thanks for His irrevocable gifts and continue to praise His holy Name and be a light to the world at large as we are called to be.

The worship team as it's called in some churches must do some serious homework.
Actually the "worship team" should be abolished. All believers are to gather to worship in Spirit and in truth. "I was in the Spirit on the Lord's Day" (said the apostle John).

1 Peter 5:8
Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

I'm posting a video I recently watched about Bethel.
I had seen a few titles online for things about "why you shouldn't listen" etc etc, but as I have seen legit ministries be bashed by some of these same people I had to place it on a back burner and wait upon the Lord for an answer.
I stumbled upon this video from a former Bethel student and was sickened by it.
They draw you in, then lead you astray.
Some of the things shown and talked about in this video have biblical foundations BUT they way this organization teaches and practices is VERY UNBIBLICAL, twisted, leads away from the God of the bible, in fact makes mockery.
God is a God of order, He does NOT cause confusion

1 Corinthians 14:33
For God is not a God of disorder, but of peace.........

1 Corinthians 14:40
But everything must be done in a proper and orderly manner.

(did this with my kiddos when they were about 3 and 4):
I asked my kids if they wanted some brownies (something good and yummy)....
well of course they were all excited about this. ( Riding on their emotions)......
I asked them what they thought of these brownies to which replies were along the lines of
"they look good" "they smell good" "I want some".....
I asked them if they noticed anything that might be wrong with the brownies.......
nope! They didn't "see" anything wrong with them. After all, it's just brownies, how could there be anything wrong with them?
I went on to tell them that there was some :poop: mixed in with it, but it should be okay since we didn't "see" it....
did they still want those brownies?
lesson learned:
A little bit of poo mixed in defiles (ruins, destroys) the whole batch.

*and just want to note.....
I've posted music in the past before coming to this realization,
wish I could "unpost" (if I could even remember all the places where)
moving forward.........
Wow, Bethel church is into mysticism. they have overlooked the objective truth of God's word and interprete scripture out of context. I think the Bethel singers are anointed and some probably don't know what they have gotten themselves into.
I just hope it's a legit video.

Thanks for sharing.

Some churches depend on the worship team. Please share some practical ways on how the church should worship.

I once heard some preacher saying Christians should not listen to Bethel and Hilsong music. The lyrics are apparently written to the person of the opposite sex and not primarily to God.

I would like to hear your views:
Is the seeker sensitive movement biblical?
What are the pros and cons?
I would probably stop listening to that preacher if he really said that. Anyone who has listened to their songs knows that can't possibly be true. There are plenty of songs on the christian radio that fall into that category maybe he was thinking of those artists. Or maybe there is one particular song he thinks could be taken that way if someone wasn't told first. However if you are in church raising hands to the Lord and singing the song isn't it obvious you are not singing to your girlfriend?

As to the question about seeker friendly, I think we need to define what that means to the person using it. Obviously we should all be friendly to seekers. Lets have some examples of seeker friendly. Hillsong music such as What a beautiful Name it is.. the name of Jesus is just as spiritual as any ancient hymm I have heard and not what I think of when people talk about seeker friendly I think of a men's bible study at a local brewery which I find counter productive.

You could start with 1 Corinthians 11. Christians should worship at the Lord's Supper -- focus on the Lord Jesus Christ, His finished work of redemption, and His expected coming for the Church: For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come. (1 Cor 11:26).

This was a weekly Remembrance Feast around the Lord's Table on the Lord's Day (the first day of the week) and Justin Martyr in the 2nd century wrote about this. As you will note Christian women were to worship with their heads covered, and men with their heads uncovered. There are several other passages in the NT which also pertain to Christian worship.

How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying. (1 Cor 14:26)

Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; (Eph 5:19,20)

Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come. (1 Cor 16:2)

So you believe the criticism of the seeker sensitive movement in the video you shared is wrong, but the essence of their summary about this movement is right? Again just trying to get straight what exactly it is. It sounds to me from that video as I replied to before, a lot like the modern mainstream heretical churches full of proud Babylon whom is proud in her evil ways and doing and other such things that are plainly called profane in the Bible. It would make sense to me in a sadly dark sense though because the world today is pretty secularized, the ideas of sacredness or holiness are pretty unpopular with society to massively understate it.

This is similar to the sentiment I got from the video.

I googled and immediately found statements from the pastor of Bethel that they are not associated with the Christ Allignment minsitry and do no support their card reading practices. They have a staff member who's family is behind that ministry. I do not think it is fair to blame Bethel for this card reading ministry because they have a pastor who's mother is doing that. Unless that staff pastor says he agrees with it, then he should be fired of course.

I'm still dealing with the 'social injustice movement'. Never heard of the 'sensitive seeker' movement. Perhaps there is also an 'insensitive seeker' movement that is like a support group dealing with all of the other nonsense movements. I might be all set with that.

Regarding music, Christians should feel free to listen to any type of genre whether it's considered Christian or secular as long as their conscience allows it. I have found most Christian music to be lame and more like elevator music. I'm down with some 'ole fashion rock & roll though.

Preachers can offer counsel but not everything they say is biblical or spiritual either. While I may consider the advice of a preacher they are not about to dictate what I can or cannot watch or listen to as that is a decision I would make on my own based solely on my own spiritual perceptions or insight whatever the case may be.

No, I do not think criticism of the seeker sensitive movement is wrong, as some are clearly called to expose false teachers. What I was speaking to is our attitude toward seekers themselves. Such were some of us, after all, as everyone is born an enemy to God. So while we are also called to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling, I do not think it wrong to hope that those caught in these movements have the Truth of God's Word revealed to them as well.
