That is incorrect. The Tribulation and the Great Tribulation are periods of DIVINE JUDGMENT.

Within the 7th seal judgments, the first six angels announce the judgments during the Tribulation. The seventh angel announces the judgments during the Great Tribulation. Each period consists of 3 1/2 years.

People should really take some time to study these things and see what the Bible has to say.
I fully agree, judgement to see repentance, specifically upon the Beast and his kingdom followers.

Revelation 16:10-11KJV
10 And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain,
11 And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds.

(same BEGINNING, and MIDDLE, and END that we see in several places, not to mention Dan9:27 a / b / c ! "for ONE WEEK [7 yrs]" it says;) )]
Daniel 9:24-27, Seventy Literal Weeks Explained?

Daniel's 70 weeks are literal 7 day periods, or 490 literal days.

If Daniel meant 490 years he would have written

(Four hundred and ninety years), simple

Daniel had no restrictions in "Writing" exact numerology as seen below.

Daniel 6:1KJV
It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom an hundred and twenty princes, which should be over the whole kingdom;

Daniel 8:14KJV
And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.

Daniel 12:11KJV
And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.

Below in Daniel 10:2-3 we see just another example of Daniel's literal weeks, as Daniel mourned and fasted for 3 literal weeks or 21 days.

Daniel 10:2-3KJV
2 In those days I Daniel was mourning three full weeks.
3 I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.

Below in Daniel 9:24-27 we see 70 literal future weeks or 490 days.

When the call/commandment goes out in Jerusalem to build unto the Jewish Meshiach/Messiah that they wait for (They Denied Jesus Christ) this will start the 7 week period.

62 literal weeks will be in building, and Meshiach/Messiah will be cut off by the Antichrist who stops the building.

The 70th literal week will see the antichrist revealed in making a covenant, and in the middle of this literal week he proclaims to be Meshiach/Messiah God to the Jews, and Jesus returned to the apostate church, to start a Millennium on earth.

The 3.5 year tribulation has started.

Daniel 9:24-27KJV
24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.
25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.
26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.
27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

While what you are saying is a true assessment of the state of affairs, we cannot justify this current point in time as the time known as the The Great Tribulation.

For starters, if you interpret the Bible literally then the anti-Christ will sit in temple of God, Solomon's temple, in Jerusalem. The temple has been destroyed twice meaning that for an anti-Christ to sit there then a third temple would need to be rebuilt which hasn't happened yet.

"3Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, 4who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God."
2 Thessalonians 2:3-4

But yes, I do also agree with your post-tribulation rapture view point which is Biblical.
I agree we are not experiencing the great tribulation yet. That's why it's important that we recognise it will be a unique time of testing.

We see the Second Coming of Christ in Revelation 19:11-21. This is a literal, real, visible, tangible Second Coming with Christ returning to earth with all His saints and angels (called “clouds” because of their white and shining appearance): Behold, He cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see Him, and they also which pierced Him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of Him. Even so, Amen. (Rev 1:7)
I guess everyone will wail simply because we have a sinful nature, and we will officially acknowledge it when Jesus comes again and we see him in person. If we as people please God in every single way, i could not see how we would all wail when he returns.

What is meant when he returns must be looked at. Before he left the Holy Spirit informed the believers that although some did know him according to his corrupted flesh that when he disappeared out of sight. . . we know him that way never again.

One demonstration of the work of the two working as one was all that was propmised.

Christ is here reigning in the hearts of men just as he reigned in the heart of the Son of man Jesus. On the last day he will depart and the new order will appear.

2 Corinthians 5:16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.

In one sense every eye does see .The wrath of God being revealed daily from heaven. A dying sufferings race. It began being revealed when mankind of his own will did the will of another, a corrupted creature seen(serpent).

He will leave like a thief in the night on the last day in the winkling of the eye

The "everyone" here refers to the unbelieving and the wicked who are to be judged.
